4 Wheel Drive (4WD)
Warning Light
(if equipped)
This warning light illuminates:
Once you set the ignition switch or
Engine Start/Stop button to the ON
position.
- It illuminates for approximately 3
seconds and then goes off.
When there is a malfunction with
the 4WD system.
In this case, we recommend that
you have the vehicle inspected by
an authorised HYUNDAI dealer.
Headlight Warning
Light (if equipped)
This warning light illuminates:
If there is a malfunction (burned-
out bulb except LED light or circuit
malfunction) with the exterior lights
(headlight, brake light, fog light,
etc.). In this case, we recommend
that you have your vehicle inspect-
ed by an authorised HYUNDAI
dealer.
Information
Make sure to replace the burned out
bulb with a new one of the same
wattage rating.
If not, this warning message will not
be displayed.

Fuel Filter Warning Light
When the Fuel Filter Warning
Light illuminates, engine
power (vehicle speed & idle
speed) may decrease.
If you keep driving with the
warning light on, engine parts
(injector, common rail, high
pressure fuel pump) may be
damaged. If this occurs, we
recommend that you have the
vehicle inspected by an
authorised HYUNDAI dealer
as soon as possible.

Front Fog Indicator
Light (if equipped)
This indicator light illuminates:
When the front fog lights are on.
Rear Fog Indicator
Light
This indicator light illuminates:
When the rear fog lights are on.
Glow Indicator Light
(Diesel Engine)
This indicator light illuminates:
When the engine is being preheat-
ed with the ignition switch or
Engine Start/Stop button in the ON
position.
- The engine can be started after
the glow indicator light goes off.
- The illumination time varies with
the engine coolant temperature,
air temperature, and battery con-
dition.
If the indicator light remains on or
blinks after the engine has warmed
up or whilst driving, there may be a
malfunction with the engine preheat-
ing system.
In this case, we recommend that you
have the vehicle inspected by an
authorised HYUNDAI dealer.

Exterior lights
Lighting control
To operate the lights, turn the knob at
the end of the control lever to one of
the following positions:
(1) OFF (O) position
(2) AUTO light position (if equipped)
(3) Parking lamp position
(4) Headlamp position
AUTO light position (if equipped)
When the light switch is in the AUTO
position, the parking lamp and head-
lamp will automatically be turned ON
or OFF depending on the amount of
light outside the vehicle.
Even with the AUTO light feature in
operation, it is recommended to
manually turn ON the lamps when
driving at night or in a fog, or when
you enter dark areas, such as tun-
nels and parking facilities. Do not cover or spill anything on
the sensor (1) located on the
instrument panel.
Do not clean the sensor using a
window cleaner, the cleanser
may leave a light film which
could interfere with the sensor
operation.
If your vehicle has window tint
or other types of metallic coat-
ing on the front windscreen, the
AUTO light system may not work
properly.

When a vehicle suddenly
appears from around a corner.
When the vehicle is tilted from
a flat tyre or being towed.

When the Lane Keeping Assist
(LKA) system warning light illu-
minates.
 When the front visibility is
poor
When the lamp of the on-com-
ing or vehicle in front is cov-
ered with dust, snow or water.
When the light from the on-
coming or vehicle in front is not
detected because of exhaust
fume, smoke, fog, snow, etc.
When the front window is cov-
ered with foreign matter.
When it is hard to see because
of fog, heavy rain or snow etc.
The system may not operate
normally in the following condi-
tions.
 
When the light from an on-
coming or vehicle in front is
dim
When the in light from the on-
coming or vehicle in front in is
not detected because of lamp
damage, hidden from sight,
etc.
When the lamp of the on-com-
ing or vehicle in front is cov-
ered with dust, snow or water.
When the vehicle in front has
it's headlamps off but fog
lights on etc.
 
When it is affected by an
external condition
When there is a similar
shaped lamp as the lamps on
the vehicle in front.
When the headlamp is not
repaired or replaced at an
authorised dealer.
When headlamp aiming is not
properly adjusted.
When driving on a narrow
winding road or rough road.
When driving downhill or
uphill.
When only part of the vehicle
in front is visible on a cross-
road or on a corner.
When there is a traffic light,
reflecting sign, flashing sign
or mirror.
When the road conditions are
bad such as being wet or cov-
ered with snow.
When the vehicle in front has
it's headlamps off but fog
lights on etc.CAUTION

One-touch turn signal function
(if equipped)
To activate a one-touch turn signal
function, move the turn signal lever
slightly and then release it. The lane
change signals will blink 3, 5 or 7
times.
You can activate/deactivate the One
Touch Turn Signal function or choose
the number of blinks (3, 5, or 7) from
the User Settings Mode on the LCD
display.For more details, refer to
"LCD Display" in this chapter.
Front fog lamps (if equipped)
Fog lamps are used to provide
improved visibility when visibility is
poor due to fog, rain or snow, etc.
Use the switch next to the headlamp
switch to turn the fog lamps ON and
OFF.1. Turn on the parking lamps.
2. Turn the light switch (1) to the front
fog lamps position.
3. To turn off the front fog lamps, turn
the light switch to the front fog
lamps position again or turn off the
parking lamps.
When in operation, the fog lamps
consume large amounts of vehicle
electrical power. Only use the fog
lamps when visibility is poor.

Rear fog lamp (if equipped)
Vehicle with front fog lamps
To turn on the rear fog lamp:
Position the light switch in the park-
ing lamp position, turn the light
switch to the front fog lamps position,
and then turn the lamp switch (1) to
the rear fog lamp position.
Vehicle without front fog lamps
To turn on the rear fog lamp:
Position the light switch in the head-
lamps position, and then turn the
light switch (1) to the rear fog lamp
position.To turn the rear fog lamps off, do one
of the following:
Turn off the headlamp switch.
Turn the light switch to the rear fog
lamp position again.
When the light switch is in the
parking lamps position, if you turn
off the front fog lamps, the rear fog
lamp will also turn off.
