Folding the side view mirrors
To fold the side view mirrors, grasp
the housing of the mirror and then
fold it inwards.
Reverse Parking Aid Function
(if equipped)
When you move the shift lever to the
R (Reverse) position, the side view
mirror(s) will rotate downwards to aid
with driving in reverse. The position
of the side view mirror switch (1)
determines whether or not the mir-
rors will move:
Left/Right :When either the L (Left) or
R (Right) switch is select-
ed, both side view mirrors
will move.
Neutral : When neither switch is select- ed, the side view mirrors will
not move. The side view mirrors will automati-
cally revert to their original positions
if any of the following occur:
The ignition switch is placed to
either the LOCK/OFF position or
the ACC position.
The shift lever is moved to any position except R (Reverse).
The remote control side view mir- ror switch is not selected.

mally if any of the following con-
ditions should occur:
1) When the illumination from an on-coming vehicle or a
vehicle in front is dim. Such
examples may include:
When the headlamps of an on-
coming vehicle or the tail
lamps of a vehicle in front is
covered with dust, snow, or
water.
When the headlamps on an on-
coming vehicle are OFF, but the
fog lamps are ON.
2) When the High Beam Assist camera is adversely affected
by an external condition.
Such examples may include:
When the vehicle's head-
lamps have been damaged or
not repaired properly.
When the vehicle headlamps
are not aimed properly.
When the vehicle is driven on
a narrow curved road or rough
road.
When the vehicle is driven on
an uphill road or downhill
road.
When only part of the vehicle in
front is visible on a crossroad
or curved road.
When there is a traffic light,
reflecting sign, flashing sign or
mirror.
When the road conditions are
bad such as being wet or cov-
ered with snow.
When a vehicle suddenly
appears from a curve.
When the vehicle is tilted from
a flat tire or being towed.
When the Lane Keeping Assist
(LKA) system warning light
illuminates.
When the light from the on-
coming or front vehicle is not
detected because of exhaust
fume, smoke, fog, snow, etc.
When the front window is cov-
ered with foreign matters such
as ice, dust, fog, or is damaged.
3) When the forward visibility is poor. Such examples may
include:
When the headlamps of an on-
coming vehicle or a vehicle in
front is not detected due to
poor outside visibility (smog,
smoke, dust, fog, heavy rain,
snow, etc.).
When the windshield visibility
is poor.

Vanity mirror lamp
Push the switch to turn the light on or
off.
: The lamp will turn on if thisbutton is pressed.
: The lamp will turn off if this button is pressed.
Always have the switch in the off
position when the vanity mirror
lamp is not in use. If the sunvisor
is closed without the lamp off, it
may discharge the battery or dam-
age the sunvisor.
Puddle lamp (if equipped)
Welcome light
When all doors (and liftgate) are
closed and locked, the puddle lamp
will come on for 15 seconds if the
door is unlocked by the remote key
or smart key or outside door handle
button.
For more details, refer to "Welcome
System" in this chapter.
Escort light
When the vehicle is turned OFF and
the driver's door is opened, the pud-
dle lamp will come on for 30 sec-
onds. If the driver's door is closed
within the 30 seconds, the puddle
lamp will turn off after 15 seconds. If
the driver's door is closed and
locked, the puddle lamp will turn off
immediately.
The Puddle Lamp Escort Light will
turn on only the first time the driver's
door is opened after the engine is
turned off.

Surround View Monitoring
(if equipped)
The Surround View Monitoring sys-
tem can assist in parking by allowing
the driver to see around the vehicle.Push the button (1, indicator ON) to
operate the system. To cancel the
system, push the button again (1,
indicator OFF).
The system is activated when:
The engine is ON
The shift lever is in D (Drive), N
(Neutral) or R (Reverse)
Vehicle speed is under 10 mph (15 km/h)
The system is deactivated when:
You press the button (1) again
Vehicle speed is over 10 mph (15 km/h)
Information
• When vehicle speed is over 10 mph (15 km/h), the system will turn off.
The system will not automatically
turn on again, even though vehicle
speed gets below 10 mph (15 km/h).
Push the button (1, indicator ON)
again, to turn on the system. • When the vehicle is backing up, the
system will turn ON regardless of
vehicle speed or button status.
However, if vehicle speed is over 10
mph (15 km/h) when driving for-
ward, the SVM system will turn off.
• A warning appears on the system when:
- The liftgate is opened
- The driver's door is opened
- The passenger's door is opened
- The outer side view mirror is fold-ed
• If the system is not operating nor- mally, the system should be checked
by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.

• If vehicle speed is over 10 mph (15km/h)
- the rear image stays ON when therear view was on the screen

- a pop-up for selecting the SVM mode (top, front wide, front right

rear image will appear on the
screen automatically regardless of
vehicle speed or SVM button (1)
status.
- If the rear image was ON, thescreen switches to the parking
assist screen.
- If the screen (top, front wide, front right and front left) of other
modes of SVM system was ON, the
screen for setting the initial rear
view mode appears.
- When the shift lever is moved from R (Reverse) to D (Drive), the
screen of the previous mode is dis-
played.
• A warning appears on the system when:
- The liftgate is opened
- The driver's door is opened
- The passenger's door is opened
- The outer side view mirror is folded
• If the system is not operating nor- mally, the system should be checked

knob to the highest temperature
setting (rotated all the way to the
right) and the fan speed control to
the highest setting.
If warm air to the floor is desired while defrosting or defogging, set
the mode to the floor-defrost posi-
tion.
Before driving, clear all snow and ice from the windshield, rear win-
dow, side view mirrors, and all
side windows.
Clear all snow and ice from the hood and air inlet in the cowl grill to
improve heater and defroster effi-
ciency and to reduce the probabili-
ty of fogging up the inside of the
windshield.
If the engine temperature is still
cold after starting, then a brief
engine warm up period may be
required for the vented air flow to
become warm or hot.
Manual Climate Control System
To defog inside windshield
1. Select any fan speed except "0" position.
2. Select the desired temperature.
3. Select the or position.
4. Fresh mode will be selected auto- matically. Additionally, the air condi-
tioning will automatically operate if
the mode is selected to the
position.
Check to make sure the A/C is ON. If
the A/C ON LED is not illuminated,
press the A/C button once to turn the
air conditioner ON.

Windshield heating
Do not use the or posi-
tion during cooling operation in
extremely humid weather. The
difference between the temper-
ature of the outside air and that
of the windshield could cause
the outer surface of the wind-
shield to fog up, causing loss of
visibility could cause an acci-
dent resulting in serious injury
or death. In this case, set the
mode selection knob or button
to the position and fan
speed control knob or button to
a lower speed.

Rear Window Defroster
To prevent damage to the rear
window defroster conducting ele-
ments bonded to the inside sur-
face of the rear window, never use
sharp instruments or window
cleaners containing abrasives to
clean the window.
If you want to defrost and defog
the front windshield, refer to the
"Windshield Defrosting and
Defogging" section in this chapter.The defroster heats the window to
remove frost, fog and thin ice from
the interior and exterior of the rear
window, while the engine is running.
To activate the rear window
defroster, press the rear window
defroster button located in the cen-
ter control panel. The indicator on
the rear window defroster button illu-
minates when the defroster is ON.
To turn off the defroster, press the rear window defroster button
again.
Information
• If there is heavy accumulation ofsnow on the rear window, brush it
off before operating the rear
defroster.
• The rear window defroster auto- matically turns off after approxi-
mately 20 minutes or when the igni-
tion switch is in the LOCK/OFF
position.
Side view mirror defroster
If your vehicle is equipped with the
side view mirror defrosters, they will
operate at the same time you turn on
the rear window defroster.

Sunglass Holder
To open:
Push and release the cover and the
holder will slowly open. Place your
sunglasses in the compartment door
with the lenses facing out.
To close:
Push back into position.
Make sure the sunglass holder is
closed while driving.

Do not keep objects except
sunglasses inside the sun-
glass holder. Such objects can
be thrown from the holder in
the event of a sudden stop or
an accident, possibly injuring
the passengers in the vehicle.
Do not open the sunglass
holder while the vehicle is
moving. The rear view mirror
of the vehicle can be blocked
by an open sunglass holder.
Do not put the glasses forcibly
into a sunglass holder. It may
cause personal injury if you
try to open it forcibly when the
glasses are jammed in holder.
WARNING
Do not place the heavy, sharp or
breakable objects in the tray.
Such objects can be thrown
from the tray in the event of a
sudden stop or an accident,
possibly injuring the passen-
gers in the vehicle.
