There are more than two lane
markers on the road in front of you.
The lane marker is very thick or
thin.
The lane is very wide or narrow.
The lane marker ahead is not visi-
ble due to rain, snow, water on the
road, damaged or stained road
surface, or other factors.
The shadow is on the lane marker
by a median strip, trees, guardrail,
noise barriers, etc.
The lane markers are complicated
or a structure substitutes for the
lines such as a construction area.
There are crosswalk signs or other
symbols on the road.
The lane marker in a tunnel is
stained with oil, etc.
The lane suddenly disappears
such as at the intersection. When external condition is inter-
vened
The brightness outside changes
suddenly such as when entering or
exiting a tunnel, or when passing
under a bridge.
The brightness outside is too low
such as when the headlamps are
not on at night or the vehicle is
going through a tunnel.
There is a boundary structure in
the roadway such as a concrete
barrier, guardrail and reflector post
that is inadvertently being detected
by the camera.
When light coming from a street
light or an oncoming vehicle is
reflected on a wet road surface
such as a puddle in the road.
The field of view in front is
obstructed by sun glare.
There is not enough distance
between you and the vehicle in
front to be able to detect the lane
marker or the vehicle ahead is driv-
ing on the lane marker. Driving on a steep grade, over a
hill, or when driving on a curved
road.
The adverse road conditions cause
excessive vehicle vibrations whilst
driving.
The surrounding of the inside rear
view mirror temperature is high
due to direct sunlight, etc.
When front visibility is poor
The windscreen or the camera lens
is blocked with dirt or debris.
The windscreen glass is fogged
up; a clear view of the road is
obstructed.
Placing objects on the dashboard,
etc.
The sensor cannot detect the lane
because of fog, heavy rain or snow.

Information
The system may suggest a break
according to the driver's driving pat-
tern or habits even if the driver does-
n't feel fatigue. The Driver Attention Warning
(DAW) system utilises the front
view camera on the front wind-
screen for its operation. To keep
the camera sensor in the best con-
dition, you should observe the fol-
lowing:
Never install any accessories or
stickers on the front wind-
screen, or tint the front wind-
screen.
NEVER locate any reflective
objects (i.e. white paper, mirror)
over the instrument panel. Any
light reflection may cause a mal-
function of the Driver Attention
Warning (DAW) system.
Pay extreme caution to keep the
camera sensor dry.
NEVER disassemble the camera
assembly, nor apply any impact
on the camera assembly.
(Continued)(Continued)
Never disassemble the camera
assembly, or apply any impact
on the camera assembly.
If the sensor is forcibly moved
out of proper alignment, the sys-
tem may not operate correctly.
We recommend that you take
your vehicle to an authorised
HYUNDAI dealer and have the
system checked for calibration.
NOTICE
i
The Driver Attention Warning
(DAW) system is not a substi-
tute for safe driving practices,
but a convenience function
only. It is the responsibility of
the driver to always drive cau-
tiously to prevent unexpected
and sudden situations from
occurring. Pay attention to the
road conditions at all times.
The driver who feels fatigued,
should take a break, even
though there is no break sug-
gestion by the Driver
Attention Warning (DAW) sys-
tem.

The Intelligent Speed Limit Warning
(ISLW) system displays the speed
limit information and overtaking
restriction of the current road
through the instrument cluster and
the navigation. The ISLW reads the
traffic signs through the camera,
which is attached on the upper part
of the inner front windscreen.
The ISLW also utilizes the navigation
and vehicle information to display the
speed limit information.

era assembly, or apply any
impact on the front view cam-
era assembly.
Do not disassemble the cam-
era temporarily to tint the win-
dow or attach any types of
coatings and accessories. If
you disassemble the camera
and assemble it again, we rec-
ommend that you take your
vehicle to an authorised
HYUNDAI dealer and have the
system checked for calibra-
tion.
Do not place any reflective
objects (i.e. white paper, mir-
ror) over the dashboard. Any
light reflection may cause a
malfunction system.
The system is not available in
all countries.
Intelligent Speed Limit
Warning (ISLW) system is
only a supplemental system
and is not always able to cor-
rectly display speed limits
and overtaking restrictions.
The driver still holds the
responsibility not to exceed
the maximum speed limit.
The ISLW detects the traffic
signs through the camera to
display the speed limit infor-
mation.
Therefore, the ISLW may not
properly operate, when it is
hard to detect the traffic
signs. For further details,
please refer to the
"Limitations of the system".
Pay extreme caution to keep
the camera sensor out of
water.

Sensor to detect distance to
the vehicle ahead
The Smart Cruise Control uses a
sensor to detect distance to the vehi-
cle ahead.
If the sensor is covered with dirt or
other foreign matter, the vehicle to
vehicle distance control may not
operate correctly. Always keep the
sensor clean.
Warning message
SCC (Smart Cruise Control) dis-
abled. Radar blocked
When the sensor lens cover is
blocked with dirt, snow, or debris, the
Smart Cruise Control System opera-
tion may stop temporarily. If this
occurs, a warning message will
appear on the cluster LCD display.
Remove any dirt, snow, or debris and
clean the radar sensor lens cover
before operating the Smart Cruise
Control System. The Smart Cruise
Control system may not properly
activate, if the radar is totally covered,
or if any substance is not detected
after the vehicle is in the ready ( )
mode (e.g. in an open terrain).
Information
For the SCC operation is temporarily
stopped if the radar is blocked, but
you wish to use cruise control mode
(speed control function), you must
convert to the cruise control mode
(refer to "To convert to Cruise
Control mode" in the following page.

OOSEV058052LDo not apply licence plate
frame or foreign objects such
as a bumper sticker or a
bumper guard near the radar
sensor. Doing so may adverse-
ly affect the sensing perform-
ance of the radar.
Always keep the radar sensor
and lens cover clean and free
of dirt and debris.
Use only a soft cloth to wash
the vehicle. Do not spray pres-
surized water directly on the
sensor or sensor cover.

Check SCC (Smart Cruise Control)
system
The message will appear when the
vehicle to vehicle distance control
system is not functioning normally.
We recommend that you take your
vehicle to an authorised HYUNDAI
dealer and have the system checked.
Limitations of the system
The Smart Cruise Control System
may have limits to its ability to detect
distance to the vehicle ahead due to
road and traffic conditions. (Continued)Be careful not to apply unnec-
essary force on the radar sen-
sor or sensor cover. If the sen-
sor is forcibly moved out of
proper alignment, the Smart
Cruise Control System may
not operate correctly. In this
case, a warning message may
not be displayed. Have the
vehicle inspected by an
authorised HYUNDAI dealer.
If the front bumper becomes
damaged in the area around
the radar sensor, the Smart
Cruise Control System may
not operate properly. We rec-
ommend you to have the vehi-
cle inspected by an autho-
rised HYUNDAI dealer.
Use only genuine HYUNDAI
parts to repair or replace a
damaged sensor or sensor
cover. Do not apply paint to
the sensor cover.

Driving your vehicle
Lane changing
A vehicle which moves into your
lane from an adjacent lane cannot
be recognised by the sensor until it
is in the sensor's detection range.
The radar may not detect immedi-
ately when a vehicle cuts in sud-
denly. Always pay attention to the
traffic, road and driving conditions.
If a slower vehicle moves into your
lane, your speed may decrease to
maintain the distance to the vehicle
ahead.
If a faster vehicle which moves into
your lane, your vehicle will acceler-
ate to the set speed.
Vehicle recognition
Some vehicles in your lane cannot
be recognised by the sensor:
- Narrow vehicles such as motorcy-
cles or bicycles
- Vehicles offset to one side
- Slow-moving vehicles or sudden-
decelerating vehicles
- Stopped vehicles
- Vehicles with small rear profile
such as trailers with no loadsA vehicle ahead cannot be recog-
nised correctly by the sensor if any of
following occurs:
- When the vehicle is pointing
upwards due to overloading in the
luggage compartment
- Whilst the steering wheel is operat-
ing
- When driving to one side of the
lane
- When driving on narrow lanes or
on curves
Apply the brake or accelerator pedal
if necessary.

The TPMS Malfunction Indicator
may illuminate after blinking for
one minute if the vehicle is near
electric power supply cables or
radio transmitters such as police
stations, government and public
offices, broadcasting stations,
military installations, airports,
transmitting towers, etc.
Additionally, the TPMS Malfunction
Indicator may illuminate if snow
chains are used or electronic
devices such as computers, charg-
ers, remote starters, navigation,
etc. This may interfere with normal
operation of the TPMS.
Changing a tyre with TPMS
If you have a flat tyre, the Low Tyre
Pressure and Position telltales will
come on. We recommend that the
flat tyre be repaired by an authorised
HYUNDAI dealer as soon as possi-
ble or replace the flat tyre with the
spare tyre. The spare tyre (if equipped) does not
come with a tyre pressure monitoring
sensor. When the low pressure tyre
or the flat tyre is replaced with the
spare tyre, the Low Tyre Pressure
Telltale will remain on. Also, the TPMS
Malfunction Indicator will illuminate
after blinking for one minute if the vehi-
cle is driven at speed above 25 km/h
(15.5 mph) for approximately 10 min-
utes.
Once the original tyre equipped with
a tyre pressure monitoring sensor is
reinflated to the recommended pres-
sure and reinstalled on the vehicle,
the Low Tyre Pressure Telltale and
TPMS Malfunction Indicator will go
off within a few minutes of driving. If the indicators do not extinguish
after a few minutes, please visit an
authorised HYUNDAI dealer.
Each wheel is equipped with a tyre
pressure sensor mounted inside the
tyre behind the valve stem (except
for the spare tyre). You must use
TPMS specific wheels. It is recom-
mended that you always have your
tyres serviced by an authorised
HYUNDAI dealer.
You may not be able to identify a tyre
with low pressure by simply looking
at it. Always use a good quality tyre
pressure gauge to measure. Please
note that a tyre that is hot (from
being driven) will have a higher pres-
sure measurement than a tyre that is
cold.
NOTICE
What to do in an emergency
It is recommended that you do
not use a puncture-repairing
agent not approved by a
HYUNDAI dealer to repair and/or
inflate a low pressure tyre. Tyre
sealant not approved by a
HYUNDAI dealer may damage
the tyre pressure sensor.
