Security System Alarm
The security system alarm activates wh en the trunk, hood or doors are forcibly
opened. The alarm does not activate if th e trunk or doors are opened with the key,
remote transmitter, or smart entr y with push button start system
*.
However, the alarm activates if a door is opened with the key and then the
transmission is taken out of
(P (continuously variable transmission models) or the
hood is opened before the power mode is in ON.
■When the security sy stem alarm activates
The horn sounds intermittently, and some the exterior lights flash.
■To deactivate the security system alarm
Unlock the vehicle using the key, remote transmitter or smart entry with push
button start system
*. The system, along with the horn and flashing lights, is
deactivated.
■Setting the security system alarm
The security system alarm automatically sets when the following conditions have
been met:
• The power mode is set to VEHICLE OFF (LOCK).
• The hood is closed.
• All doors and trunk are locked from outsid e with the key, remote transmitter, or
smart entry with push button start system
*.
■When the security system alarm sets
The security system alarm indicator in the instrument panel blinks and the blinking
interval changes after about 15 seconds.
■To cancel the security system alarm
The security system alarm is canceled when the vehicle is unlocked using the key*,
remote transmitter or smart entry with push button start system*, or when the power
mode is set to ON. The security system alarm indicator goes off at the same time.
1 Security System Alarm
Do not alter the system or add other devices to it.
Doing so may damage the system and make your
vehicle inoperable.
The security alarm continues for a maximum of two
minutes until the security system alarm deactivates.
Do not set the security system alarm when someone
is in the vehicle or a window is open. The system can
accidentally activate when:
•Unlocking the door with the lock tab.
•Opening the trunk with the trunk opener or the
emergency trunk opener.
•Opening the hood with the hood release.
•Taking the transmission out of ( P.
If the battery goes dead after you have set the
security system alarm, the security alarm may go off
once the battery is re charged or replaced.
If this occurs, deactivate the security system alarm by
unlocking a door using the ke y, remote transmitter,
or smart entry with push button start system

ENGINE START/STOP Button Operating Range
You can start the engine wh en the remote is inside
the vehicle.
If the battery of the remote is getting low, the engine
may not start when you push the ENGINE START/
STOP button. If the engine do es not start, refer to
the following link. 2 If the Remote Battery is Weak P. 676
The engine may also run if the remote is close to the
door or window, even if it is outside the vehicle.
ON mode:
The ENGINE START/STOP button is red when the
engine is running.

If you leave the vehicle for 30 to 60 minutes with the transmission in (P*1 and the
power mode in ACCESSORY, the vehicle automa tically goes into the mode similar to
VEHICLE OFF (LOCK) to avoid draining the battery.
When in this mode:
The steering wheel does not lock.
You cannot lock or unlock doors with the remo te transmitter or the smart entry with
push button start system
*.
Press the ENGINE START/STOP button twice to switch the mode to VEHICLE OFF
(LOCK).
If you open the driver’s door when the pow er mode is set to ACCESSORY, a warning
buzzer sounds.

1 Changing the Power Mode
If the power mode does not change from VEHICLE
OFF to ACCESSORY, press the ENGINE START/STOP
button while moving the st eering wheel left and
right. The steering wheel will unlock, allowing the
mode to change.
Do not leave the power mode in ACCESSORY or ON
when you get out.

Light Switches
Rotating the light switch turns the lights on
and off, regardless of the power mode
setting.
■High beams
Push the lever forward until you hear a click.
■Low beams
When in high beams, pull the lever back to
return to low beams.
■Flashing the high beams
Pull the lever back, and release it.
■Lights off
Turn the lever to OFF either when:
• The transmission is in
(P.
• The parking brake is applied.
To turn the lights on again, turn the lever to
OFF to cancel the lights off mode. Even if you
do not cancel the lights off mode, the lights
come on automatically when:
• The transmission is taken out of
(P and the
parking brake is released.
• The vehicle starts to move.
■Manual Operation1Light Switches
If you leave the power mode in VEHICLE OFF while
the lights are on, a chime sounds when the driver’s
door is opened.
When the lights are on, the lights on indicator in the
instrument pane l will be on.

Do not leave the lights on when the engine is off
because it will cause the battery to discharge.
If you sense that the le vel of the headlights is
abnormal, have the vehicl e inspected by a dealer.

Driving Position Memory System*
You can store two driver’s seat positions (except for power lumbar) with the driving
position memory system.
When you unlock and open the driver's doo r with a remote transmitter, or smart
entry system to one of the two preset pos itions and the seat adjusts to retracted
positions of one of the two pr eset positions automatically.
The seat will move to th e stored position when you set the power mode to
ACCESSORY.
When you enter the vehicle, the driver in formation interface briefly shows you which
remote transmitter you used to unlock the vehicle.
• DRIVER 1 transmitter is linked to memory button 1.
• DRIVER 2 transmitter is linked to memory button 2.

• Turn the engine off.
• Then open the driver’s door.
Once the power mode is in the ACCESSORY
position, the driver’s seat moves forward to

System Operation
The system will not operate if:
•The vehicle speed is above 2 mph (3 km/h).
•Either memory position button is pressed while the
seat is in motion.
•The seat position is adju sted while in operation.

1. Set the power mode to ON. Adjust the
driver’s seat to the desired position.
2. Press the SET button.
u You will hear the beeper, and the
memory button indicator light will blink.
3. Press the memory button
(1 or (2 within
five seconds of pressing the SET button.
u Once the seat position has been
memorized, the indicator light on the
button you pressed stays on and you will
hear two beeps.

The seat will automatically move to the
memorized position. When it has finished

•You do not press the memory button within five
seconds.
•You readjust the seat position before the two

Adjusting the Mirrors
Interior Rearview Mirror
Adjust the angle of the rearview mirror when you are sitting in the correct driving
position.
Flip the tab to switch the position.
The night position will help to reduce the glare
from headlights behind you when driving
after dark.
When you are driving after dark, the
automatic dimming rearview mirror reduces
the glare from headlights behind you. Press
the auto mirror button to turn this function on
and off. When activated, the auto indicator
comes on.

Power Door Mirrors
You can adjust the door mirrors when the
power mode is in ON.
■Mirror position adjustment
L/R selector switch: Select the left or right
mirror. After adjusting the mirror, return the
switch to the center position.
Mirror position adjustment switch: Press
the switch left, right, up, or down to move the
mirror.
If activated, passenger’s side door mirror
automatically tilts do wnward when you put
the transmission into
(R; this improves close-
in visibility on the passenger’s side of the
vehicle when backing up. The mirror
automatically returns to its original position
when you take the transmission out of
(R.
To activate this feature, set the power mode to ON and slide the selector switch to
the passenger’s side.
