NOTE When driving, each time the
vehicle stops, the windscreen wipers
slow down: from fast to slow
continuous operation. As soon as the
vehicle moves again, the wipers return
to the initially selected speed. Any
operation of lever 1 fig. 81 takes
precedence and annuls any
automatism.
Cars with automatic windscreen
wipers
(For versions/markets where provided)
With the engine started, move lever 1
fig. 82
Afig. 81 Stop
Bfig. 81 Automatic windscreen
wiper function. In this position, the
system detects water on the
windscreen and runs the wipers to the
best speed.You can change the activation threshold
and the time between one wipe and the
next by turning the ring 2:
Efig. 82 Minimum sensitivity
Ffig. 82 Maximum sensitivity
C fig. 81Continuous slow operation
Dfig. 81 Continuous fast operation
NOTE If there is fog or snow, the
automatic windscreen wipers are not
systematic and the driver has to
operate them.
IMPORTANT Position C fig. 81 is
accessible when the starter device is
on. Position B and D fig. 81 are
accessible with the engine started.
NOTE There is a service position for
replacing the wiper blades. With the
starter device on and engine stopped,
move the wiper stalk 1 all down
(position D) fig. 81. The wiper arm stops
in a position away from the bonnet (see
the "Windscreen wipers" paragraph in
the "Maintenance and care" chapter).
Windscreen washer
With starter device inserted, pull lever 1
fig. 83 towards the driver. Pulling the
lever briefly, activates a single wipe
together with the screen washer. Pulling
the lever for a longer time, activates
three consecutive wipes together with
the screen washer, and then a fourth
wipe after a few seconds.IMPORTANT In the case of ice or snow,
clean the windscreen (including the
central section behind the interior rear
view mirror) and the rear window before
activating the wipers (risk of overheating
their electric motor). Check condition of
the wiper blades:
they have to stay clean: clean both
windscreen and rear window regularly
with soapy water;
do not use them when the
windscreen and rear window are dry;
detach them from the windscreen or
rear window if they have not been used
for a long time.
In any case, replace them as soon as
they are no longer efficient: about once
a year. Check that there is no item that
could interfere with the windscreen
wiper trajectory.

KNOWING YOUR VEHICLE
Irregular operation
Depending on the versions, when the
system detects irregular operation, an
appropriate message will appear on the
instrument panel along with the alarm
warning light
and an acoustic
signal going off every 5 seconds.
Contact a Fiat Dealership.
WARNING
56)This function is an auxiliary driving aid
with acoustic signals to indicate that you
are approaching an obstacle while
manoeuvring. However, this does exempt
the driver from normal driving alertness nor
from liability in the event of an accident
while manoeuvring. The driver must always
be ready to face any unexpected situations
that could occur when driving. Before
starting a manoeuvre, specifically check for
any moving obstacles (such as a child,
animal, bicycle, stone, pole, etc.) or
obstacles in the blind spot that are too
small to be detected.
57)Parking and other potentially
dangerous manoeuvres are, however,
always the driver’s responsibility. When
performing these operations, always make
sure that there are no other people
(especially children) or animals on the route
you want to take. The parking sensors are
an aid for the driver, but the driver must
never allow their attention to lapse during
potentially dangerous manoeuvres, even
those executed at low speeds.
IMPORTANT
13)In the event of a collision while
manoeuvring the vehicle (e.g. hitting a
bollard, raised pavement or any other street
furniture), the vehicle could be damaged
(e.g. deformed axle). To prevent any risk of
accident, have the vehicle checked at a Fiat
Dealership.
14)The sensors must be clean of mud,
dirt, snow or ice in order for the system to
operate correctly. Be careful not to scratch
or damage the sensors while cleaning
them. Avoid using dry, rough or hard
cloths. The sensors should be washed
using clean water with the addition of car
shampoo if necessary. When using special
washing equipment such as high pressure
jets or steam cleaning, clean the sensors
very quickly keeping the jet more than
10 cm away.
15)Only have the bumpers repainted or
any retouches to the paintwork in the area
of the sensors carried out by a Fiat
Dealership. Incorrect paint application
could affect the Radar parking operation.
REAR CAMERA
Operation
58)
16)
When in reverse, video camera 1
fig. 104 located on the tailgate or on the
rear swing door, depending on the
version, lets you view the area behind
the vehicle on the inside rear-view
mirror 2 fig. 105 or on the multi-media
display panel 3 fig. 106, along with one
or two outlines 4 fig. 107 and 5
fig. 107 (moving and stationary).
NOTE Check that the rear view video
camera is not covered up (dirt, mud,
snow, condensation, etc.).
104T36620
57
NOTE Depending on the versions,
adjust a few of the parameters on the
multi-media display panel 3 fig. 106.
Moving shape 4 (depending on the
vehicle): is represented in blue on the
multi-media display panel 3fig. 106.It
indicates the vehicle's trajectory
according to the steering wheel
position.Stationary shape 5: the stationary
shape consists of coloured references
A, B and C fig. 107 that indicate the
distance behind the vehicle:
A (red) about 30 centimetres from the
vehicle;
B (yellow) about 70 centimetres from
the vehicle;
C (green) about 150 centimetres
from the vehicle.
This shape remains stationary and
indicates the vehicle's trajectory if the
wheels are aligned.
This system is initially used by making
use of one or more shapes (moving for
the trajectory, stationary for the
distance). When you get to the red
zone, use the bumper representation to
stop accurately.IMPORTANT The display will show a
reversed image. The outlines are a
representation projected onto a flat
surface. Do not consider this
information if it is superimposed onto a
vertical object or an object on the
ground. The items that appear on the
edge of the screen can be distorted. If
the light is too bright (snow, vehicle is in
sunshine) the video camera's vision can
be disrupted. When the rear doors are
open or not closed properly, the
dedicated message appears and,
depending on the vehicle, the video
camera image disappears.
WARNING
58)Parking and other potentially
dangerous manoeuvres are, however,
always the driver’s responsibility. While
carrying out these manoeuvres, always
make sure that no people (especially
children) or animals are in the area
concerned. The camera is an aid for the
driver, but the driver must never allow
his/her attention to lapse during potentially
dangerous manoeuvres, even those
executed at low speeds. Always keep a
slow speed, so as to promptly brake in the
case of obstacles.

TYRE INFLATION KIT
185)
33) 34) 35) 36) 37) 38) 39)
To take the kit out, move the seat as far
forward as possible and lower the
backrest.
Undo the tool bag fixing screw C
fig. 266 and then turn the bag to
remove it.Precautions for using the kit
The kit must not be used for more than
15 consecutive minutes.
With the engine started and the
handbrake engaged;unwind the hose from the canister;
connect compressor hose 3
fig. 267 to the canister 8,
depending on the versions, connect
or screw in canister 8 to the
compressor where there is a hollow 7
fig. 267;
unscrew the tyre valve cap involved
and screw the inflation hose 1 fig. 267;
disconnect all the accessories
previously connected to the accessory
socket;
only connect plug 2 fig. 267 to the
vehicle’s accessory socket;
press switch 4 fig. 267 to inflate the
tyre to the prescribed pressure (refer to
the "Tyre inflation pressure” paragraph
in the “Maintenance and care” chapter);
after 15 minutes at most, stop
inflating;
NOTE While emptying the canister
(about 30 seconds), the pressure gauge
5 fig. 267 briefly indicates a pressure of
up to 6 bar, then it goes back down
again.
adjust the pressure: to increase it,
continue inflating the tyre with the kit; to
lower it, press button 6 fig. 267.
If after 15 minutes a minimum pressure
of 1.8 bar has not been reached, it
means that you cannot repair the tyre;
do not drive and contact a Fiat
Dealership.
Once the tyre is correctly inflated,
remove the kit: slowly unscrew the
inflation hose of the canister 1
fig. 267 to avoid splashes of product
and replace the canister in a plastic
package so the product does not leak
out.
Attach the instruction label on the
dashboard where the driver can see it;
replace the kit in the tool bag and put
it back under the driver's seat;
when the first inflation has been
done, the tyre will continue to lose air
and you need to start driving again to
plug the hole;
