Speed Limit recognition
and recommendation
Refer to the General recommendations on the
use of driving and manoeuvring aids .
Using the camera located at the top of the
windscreen, this system detects the following
types of signs and displays the corresponding
information on the instrument panel:
– the maximum authorised speed,
– no overtaking,
– the end of the previous limitations /
restrictions.
The system detects signs on the left-hand side
and right-hand side, high and low, as well as
overlapping signs.
The system only detects circular signs.
The units for the speed limit (mph or km/h) depend on the country you are
driving in.
This should be taken into account so that you
observe the speed limit.
For the system to operate correctly when
you change country, the units for speed in
the instrument panel must be those for the
country you are driving in.
The automatic reading of road signs is a driving aid system and does not always
display speed limits correctly.
The speed limit signs present on the road
always take priority over the display by the
system.
It is possible for the system to not display the
speed limit if it does not detect a speed limit
sign within a preset period.
The system is designed to detect signs that
conform to the Vienna Convention on road
signs.
When replacing the bulbs of the headlamps,
it is highly recommended that you fit genuine
replacement parts.
Using other bulbs could reduce system
performance.
Principles
Using the camera, located at the top of the
windscreen, this system detects and reads the
speed limit indications, overtaking prohibitions
and signs indicating the end of implementation of
the signs previously mentioned.
The sign is read by the camera and is displayed
in the instrument panel when it is passed (when
the vehicle is level with it).
Display on the touch
screen tablet then on the
instrument panel
The display of signs takes place as per the
following two phases:
– All new road signs recognised are displayed
on the touch screen tablet as a pop-up for 40
seconds.
– These signs are then displayed on the
instrument panel.
The system can display two road signs (speed
limit and no overtaking/end of no overtaking)

7Topping up the engine oil level
► Remove the dipstick before topping up.
► Recover the oil filler neck.
► Unscrew the filler cap.
► Install the oil filler neck in the filler hole.
► Top up with oil.
► Remove the oil filler neck from the filler hole.
► Replace the filler cap.
► Replace the dipstick.
Brake fluid
The level of this fluid should be close to
the "MAX" mark. If not, check the brake
pad wear.
To know how often the brake fluid should be
replaced, refer to the manufacturer's servicing
schedule.
If topping up, clean the cap before
replacing it. Use only DOT4 brake fluid
from a sealed canister.
Power steering fluid
The level of this fluid should be close to the "MAX" mark. Check it, with the
vehicle parked on level ground and with the
engine cold, by reading the level on the filler
neck.
Unscrew the cap secured to the dipstick. To
access the reservoir cap, remove the protective
cover by turning its three fixing screws a quarter
turn, then remove the second cover placed on
the cap.
Engine coolant
It is normal to top up this fluid between
two services.
The check and top-up must only be done with
the engine cold.
A low level presents a risk of serious damage to
the engine.
The level of this fluid should be close to the
"MAX" mark but should never exceed it.
If the level is close to or below the " MIN” mark, it
is essential to top up.
When the engine is hot, the temperature of this
fluid is regulated by the fan.
As the cooling system is pressurised, wait at
least one hour after switching off the engine
before carrying out any work.
To gain access to the tank cap, remove the
protective cover by turning its three fixing screws
a quarter of a turn.
In order to avoid the risk of scalding if you need
to top up in an emergency, wrap a cloth around
the cap and unscrew the cap by two turns to
allow the pressure to drop.
Once the pressure has dropped, remove the cap
and top up to the required level.
Check the coolant level regularly
according to the use of your vehicle
(every 3,000 miles (5,000 km) / 3 months).

Temporary puncture repair kit
This temporary puncture repair kit is stored in a
bag, placed in one of the front doors.
It includes:
– a cartridge A, containing the sealant, equipped
with: • a filling pipe B,
• a sticker C indicating "50 mph (80 km/h)
max.", which the driver must apply within
their field of vision (on the dashboard) after
having repaired the tyre,
– a quick user guide for the repair kit,
– a compressor D equipped with a pressure
gauge and connections,
– adapters, for the inflation of various
components.
Repairing a tyre
► Apply the parking brake.
► Unscrew the cap of the tyre valve, remove
filling hose B and screw ring E onto the valve.
► Make sure compressor switch F is in
position 0 (off).
► Start the engine.
► Insert plug G into the nearest socket on the
vehicle.
► Operate the compressor by setting switch F
to position I (on).
► Inflate the tyre to a pressure of 5 bar.
To obtain a more accurate reading, it is
recommended to check the pressure value on
pressure gauge H, with the compressor off.
► If a pressure of at least 3 bar is not reached
within 5 minutes, disconnect the compressor
from the valve and the power socket, then move
the vehicle forwards by approximately 10 metres,
to disperse the sealant inside the tyre.
► Then repeat the inflation procedure:
• if a pressure of at least 3 bar is not reached
within 10 minutes, stop your vehicle: the tyre
is too damaged and could not be repaired.
Contact a CITROËN dealer or a qualified
workshop.
• if the tyre pressure has reached 5 bar,
restart immediately.
► After driving for approximately 10 minutes,
stop and check the tyre pressure again.
► Restore the correct pressure in accordance
with the label on the driver's side pillar and
contact a CITROËN dealer or a qualified
workshop as soon as possible.
This puncture repair kit and the replacement cartridges are available
from a CITROËN dealer.
Checking and restoring
pressure
The compressor can only be used to check and
restore pressure.
► Disconnect hose I and directly connect it
to the tyre valve; the cartridge will thereby be
connected to the compressor and the sealant will
not be injected.
If the tyre needs to be deflated, connect hose
I to the tyre valve and press the yellow button
located in the centre of the compressor switch.
Replacing the cartridge
To replace the sealant cartridge, proceed as
follows:
► Disconnect the hose I.
► Turn the cartridge to be replaced anti-
clockwise and lift it.
► Insert the new cartridge and turn it clockwise,
► Reconnect the hose I and connect pipe B to
its location.
The cartridge contains ethylene glycol, which is harmful if swallowed and irritates
the eyes.
It must be kept out of the reach of children.

CITROËN dealer or an authorised waste
disposal site.
Spare wheel
Parking
► Park the vehicle where it does not block
traffic: the ground must be level, stable and
non-slippery.
► If the road is sloping or damaged, place an
object under the wheels to act as a chock.
► With a manual gearbox, engage first gear
then switch off the ignition to block the wheels.
► Apply the parking brake and check that the
warning lamp is on in the instrument panel.
► The passengers must get out of the vehicle
and wait where they are safe.
► Put on the high visibility vest and signal that
the vehicle is immobile by using the devices
envisaged by the legislation in force in the
country where you are driving (warning triangle,
hazard warning lamps, etc.).
► Equip yourself with the tools.
Special feature with pneumatic
suspension
If fitted to the vehicle, activate the vehicle lifting
mode before lifting the vehicle with a jack.
For right-hand drive vehicles, the buttons are
located on the right of the steering wheel.
► With the ignition on, press both buttons 1 and
2 simultaneously for at least 5 seconds.
Their indicator lamps light up, and remain fixed.
► To exit this mode, press buttons 1 and 2
simultaneously for an additional 5 seconds.
Their indicator lamps go out and the system
becomes fully operational again.
This mode is automatically deactivated if you
exceed the speed by about 3 mph (5 km/h).
Once the vehicle is well secured, proceed in the
following order:
1- Getting the tools.
2- Removing the spare wheel from its
housing.
3- Positioning the jack.
4- Replacing the wheel to be repaired.
5- Storing the wheel to be repaired.

In the event of a breakdown
Never go underneath a vehicle raised
using a jack (use an axle stand).
Do not use:
– The jack for any other purpose than lifting
the vehicle.
– A jack other than the one supplied by the
manufacturer.
The jack must only be used to change a wheel with a damaged or punctured tyre.
The jack does not require any maintenance.
The jack meets European standards, as
defined in the Machinery Directive 2006/42/
CE.
Certain parts of the jack such as the
screw thread or the joints could cause
injury: avoid touching them.
Carefully remove all traces of lubrication
grease.
At the front
► Position the jack C at location 1 provided on
the underbody, near the front wheel.
At the rear
The jack must be located about 60 cm
from the edge of the rear wheel.
► Position the jack C at location 2 in the hole
provided for this purpose.
Special feature with a side footboard
If the vehicle is so equipped, make sure to place
the jack at 45° so that it does not interfere with
the footboard.
4 - Replacing the wheel to
be repaired
► Remove the wheel trim (depending on
version) by levering with screwdriver E.
► Unlock the bolts using wheelbrace D and
wheel bar B.
For more information on Positioning the
jack, refer to the corresponding section.
► Make sure that the jack is stable and
correctly positioned on the underbody.
► Using wheelbrace D and wheel bar B, extend
the jack sufficiently to release the wheel.
To clear the wheel easily, a space of about 2 to 3 cm is needed between the
ground and the tyre.
If the wheel is badly punctured/crushed,
increase the space but do not operate the
jack to its maximum lifting position.

To clear the wheel easily, a space of about 2 to 3 cm is needed between the
ground and the tyre.
If the wheel is badly punctured/crushed,
increase the space but do not operate the
jack to its maximum lifting position.
► Unscrew the bolts completely and remove the
wheel to be repaired.
► Make sure that the spare wheel contact
surfaces, the bolts and bolt housings are clean
and free of impurities that could cause loosening
of the fixing bolts.
Do not grease the bolts before screwing
them on: they could unscrew themselves
spontaneously.
► Fit the spare wheel by aligning the 2
holes M with the 2 corresponding shafts N.
► Start screwing the bolts by hand.
Screw the bolts in this order.

In the event of a breakdown
► Connect the red cable to metallic terminal A,
then to the (+) terminal of backup battery B.
► Connect one end of the green or black cable
to the negative (-) terminal of backup battery B.
► Connect the other end of the green or black
cable to earth point C of your vehicle.
► Operate the starter, let the engine run.
► Wait for the engine to return to idle and
disconnect the cables.
Charging the battery using a
battery charger
► Access the battery, located in the left-hand
front floor.
► Disconnect the battery.
► Follow the instructions for use provided by
the manufacturer of the charger.
► Reconnect starting with the (-) terminal.
► Check the cleanliness of the terminals. If they
are covered with sulphate (whitish or greenish
deposit), remove and clean them.
The charging operation must be carried out in a well-ventilated area and away
from naked flames and any sources of sparks
so as to avoid the risk of explosion or fire.
Do not try to recharge a frozen battery: it
must first be thawed to avoid the risk of
explosion. If it has frozen, before charging it,
have the battery checked by a specialist who
will check that the interior components have
not been damaged and that the container is
not cracked, which would involve a risk of
leakage of toxic and corrosive acid.
Perform a slow charge at low amperage for
about 24 hours maximum to avoid damaging
the battery.
The presence of this label, in particular with the Stop & Start system, indicates
the use of a 12 V lead-acid battery with
special technology and specification; the
involvement of a CITROËN dealer or a
qualified workshop is essential when
replacing or disconnecting the battery.
After refitting the battery at a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop, the Stop
& Start system will only be active after a
continuous period of immobilisation of the
vehicle, a period which depends on the
climatic conditions and the state of charge of
the battery (up to about 8 hours).
Towing
General recommendations
Observe the legislation in force in the
country where you are driving.
Ensure that the weight of the towing vehicle is
higher than that of the towed vehicle.
The driver must remain at the wheel of the
towed vehicle and must have a valid driving
licence.
When towing a vehicle with all four wheels on
the ground, always use an approved towing
arm; rope and straps are prohibited.
The towing vehicle must move off gently.
When the vehicle is towed with its engine
off, there is no longer braking and steering
assistance.
A professional towing service must be
called if:
– Broken down on a motorway or main road.
– Not possible to put the gearbox into neutral,
unlock the steering, or release the parking
brake.
– Not possible to tow a vehicle with an
automatic gearbox, with the engine running.
– Towing with only two wheels on the ground.
– Four-wheel drive vehicle.
– No approved towbar available.
Towing your vehicle
The removable towing eye is located in the tool
box under the front passenger seat.
► Unclip the cover using a flat tool.
► Screw the removable towing eye in fully.
► Attach the approved towbar to the removable
towing eye.
► Place the gear lever in neutral.
