information
Winter
tires
are
recommended
for
operating
on
winter
roads.
Although
so-called
all-season
M+S
tires
provide better
winter
traction
than
summer
tires,
they
usually
do
not
provide
the
same
level
of
performj ance
as
winter
tires.
Maximum
speed
of
winter
tires
If
the
maximum
speed
of
the
vehicle
is
higher
than
the
permissible
speed
for
the
winter
tires,
then
attach
a
label
showing
the
permissible
maxij
mum
speed
in
the
field
of
view.
The
label
is
availj
able
from
a
dealer's
service
center
or
another
qualified
service
center
or
repair
shop.
With
winter
tires
mounted,
observe
and
do
not
exceed
the
permissible
maximum
speed.
Changing
runflat
tires
For
your
own
safety,
use
only
runflat
tires.
No
spare
tire
is
available
in
the
case
of
a
flat
tire.

information
is
available

a
dealer's

ice
center
or
another
qualified
service
center
or
repair
shop.
Rotating
wheels
between
axles Different
wear
patterns

occur
on
the
front
and
rear
axles
depending
on

driving

information The
wheels
consist
of
tires
that
are
self-supportj
ing,
to
a
limited
degree,
and
possibly
special
rims.
The
support
of
the
sidewall
allows
the
tire
to
rej main
drivable
to
a
restricted
degree
in
the
event
of
a
tire
inflation
pressure
loss.
Follow
the
instructions
for
continued
driving
with
a
flat
tire.
Safety

Warning
Your
vehicle
handles
differently

a
run-flat
tire

no
or
low
inflation

pipe

blocked

ventilation

are
colorless
and
odorless.
In

closed
areas,

gases
can
also
accumuj
late
outside
of

Keep
the
exhaust
pipe
free
and
ensure
sufj
ficient
ventilation.
NOTICE
The
compressor
can
overheat
during
extended operation.
There

The

system
warns
you
if there

a
loss

pressure
in
one

more
tires.
General

valves
measure
the
tire
inflaj
tion
pressure
and
tire
temperature.
Using
the
tire
settings
in
iDrive,
the
system
can
automatically
display
the
specified
target
presj
sures
and
compare
them
with
the
actual
tire
inj
flation
pressures.
If
tires
are
being
used
that
are
not
specified
on the
tire
inflation
pressure
details
on
the
vehicle,
refer
to
page
328,
such
as
tires
with
special
apj
proval,
the
system
needs
to
be
actively
reset. The
system
will
then
take
over
the
actual
tire
injflation
pressures
as
the
target
pressures.
