depressed

change

Shift
paddles
Concept
The
shift
paddles
on
the
steering
wheel
allow
you
to
shift
gears
quickly
while
keeping
both
hands
on
the
steering
wheel.
General
information Shifting
The
vehicle
only
shifts
at
suitable
engine
and
road
speeds.
Short-term
manual
mode
In
selector
lever
position
D,
actuating
a
shift
padj
dle
switches
into
manual
mode
temporarily.
After
conservative
driving
in
manual
mode
withj
out
acceleration
or
shifting
via
the
shift
paddles
for
a
certain
amount
of
time,
the
transmission
switches
back
to
automatic
mode.
It
is
possible
to
switch
into
automatic
mode
as
follows:'xKeep
the
right
shift
paddle
pulled
until

the

addition
to
the
pulled
right

Continuous
manual
mode
In
selector

lowest

gear

selected

neously
activating
kickdown
and

Control
enables
optimum
acceleration on
surfaces
with
good
traction
under
dry
surjrounding
conditions.

use

Launch
Control
causes
premature
component
wear
since
this
function
represents
a very
heavy
load
for
the
vehicle.
Do
not
use
Launch
Control
during
the
break-in,
refer
to
page
246,
period.
Do
not
steer
the
steering
wheel
when
driving
off
with
Launch
Control.
Functional
requirement Launch
Control
is
available
as
soon
as
the
engine
and
transmission
are
at
operating
temperature.
Depending
on
the
external
temperature
and

style,

engine
and
transmission
require
an
interrupted
trip
of
up
to
30
miles/50
km
in
order
to
reach
the
operating
temperature
needed
