SERVICING AND CARE
118
Proceed as follows to reposition:
❒ tighten the screws with folding ring
1 fig. 103 in the housings on the floor;
❒ unite the Velcro fabric strips 2 of the
mats with those on the floor, taking care
to apply light pressure and ensure that
the fastening is efficient.
132)
SEATS AND FABRIC OR
MICROFIBRE PARTS
Remove dust with a soft brush or a
vacuum cleaner.
For cleaning microfibre upholstery
(on some versions, including steering
wheel).
It is advisable to moisten the brush.
Rub the seats with a sponge moistened
with a solution of water and neutral
detergent.
LEATHER SEATS
(where provided)
Remove the dry dirt with a chamois or
slightly damp cloth, without exerting too
much pressure.
Remove any liquid or grease stains using
an absorbent dry cloth, without rubbing.
Then clean with a soft cloth or buckskin
cloth dampened with water and mild
soap. If the stain persists, use specific
products and observe the instructions
carefully.
IMPORTANT Never use alcohol.
Make sure that the cleaning products
used contain no alcohol or alcohol
derivatives, even in small quantities.
PLASTIC, CARBON AND
COATED PARTS
Clean interior plastic and visible carbon
parts with a damp cloth (if possible made
from microfibre), and a solution of water
and neutral, non-abrasive detergent.
To clean oily or persistent stains, use
specific products free from solvents and
designed to maintain the original
appearance and colour of the
components.
Remove any dust using a microfibre cloth,
if necessary moistened with water.
The use of paper tissues is not
recommended as these may leave
residues.
26)
LEATHER UPHOLSTERY
(for versions/markets, where provided)
Use only water and mild soap to clean
these parts. Never use alcohol or
alcohol-based products.
Before using a specific product for
cleaning interiors, make sure that it does
not contain spirit and/or alcohol based
substances.
130)Never use flammable products, such
as petroleum ether or modified petrol, to
clean the inside of the car. The
electrostatic charges which are
generated by rubbing during the cleaning
operation may cause a fire.
131)Do not keep aerosol cans in the car:
danger of explosion.
Aerosol cans must not be exposed to a
temperature exceeding 50°C.
When the vehicle is exposed to sunlight,
the internal temperature can greatly
exceed this value.
132)It is essential that there is nothing
under the pedals: make sure the mats are
lying flat and do not get in the way of the
pedals.
IMPORTANT
26)Never use alcohol, petrols and
derivatives to clean the dashboard and
instrument panel lens.

❒ Do not fix a roof rack to the top.
❒ Do not remove ice from the soft top
with sharp items.
❒ Do not place objects on the soft top,
as they could fall causing damage or
injury.
❒ It is advisable to cover the top with a
protective sheet if the car is left parked
in the open for a long time.
❒ Do not keep the soft top folded for a
long time: this could cause folds and
creases in the fabric.
❒ Do not store the soft top in its
compartment when very dirty or wet, to
avoid any mildew or damage.
❒ with soft top installed, when travelling
over 130 km/h the aerodynamic comfort
may not be optimal.WASHING/CLEANING THE SOFT TOP
30)
Use of specific products is recommended
for washing the soft top cloth.
The soft top fabric is treated with a
special water-repellent, waterproof
product.
The water-repellent properties will
degrade in time with exposure to the
weather elements. Observe the following
instructions for washing:
it is recommended to wash by hand.
Remove as much dirt from the surface of
the soft top with a soft brush or vacuum
cleaning before washing it.
This operation will considerably improve
the final result.
In lack of specific products, use water
and mild soap applied with a sponge
(preferably in the shade) for washing.
Rinse the soft top with clean water after
having eliminated all the stains.
Leave the car in the shade after washing
avoiding direct sunlight.
Waterproofing the top
31)
Use specific waterproofing products for
fabric soft-tops.
Interior top fabric
Remove dust with a soft brush.
Avoid using hard brushes made of
synthetic material to prevent damaging
the fabric beyond repair.
Clean the surface with a microfibre cloth
or soft sponge dipped in a solution of
water and mild soap. Clean the entire
surface, including the zones where
cleaning is not needed, to prevent haloes
or staining.
Use common, car care mild stain
removers for more stubborn stains.
Apply by blotting (never rubbing) directly
on the area of the stain.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION AND RECOMMENDATIONS
CIGAR LIGHTER
The cigar lighter gets very hot. Handle it carefully and make sure that children don’t use it: risk of fire and/or burns.
ASHTRAY
Do not use the ashtray as a waste paper basket: it may catch fire in contact with cigarette stubs.
WHEELS AND TYRES
The road holding qualities of the car also depend on the correct inflation pressure of the tyres. If tyre pressure is too low, the tyre may
overheat and be severely damaged as a result.
Do not switch tyres from the left to the right side and vice versa, in order to prevent inversion of the rotation direction.
Do not repaint alloy wheel rims at temperatures higher than 150°C.
The mechanical characteristics of the wheels might be compromised.
The car is always equipped with front and rear wheels of different dimensions. It is not therefore possible to move the wheels from the
front to the back and vice versa.
ACCESSORIES PURCHASED BY THE OWNER
Take care when fitting additional spoilers or non-standard alloy wheels: they could reduce the ventilation of the brakes and affect
efficiency in sharp, repeated braking or on long descents. Make sure that nothing obstructs the pedal stroke (mats, etc.).
CATALYTIC SILENCER
Under operating conditions, the catalytic converter becomes very hot. Therefore, do not park the car on flammable materials
(grass, dry leaves, pine needles etc.) to avoid the risk of fire.
