INTERIOR LIGHTS
ROOF LIGHT
The lens of roof light 1 fig. 17 can be set
to three positions:
❒ right side pressed: light always on
❒ left side pressed: light always off
❒ central position (neutral): the light
turns on and off when the doors are
opened or closed.

ROOF LIGHT TIMING
To facilitate getting in/out of the car at
night or in poorly lit areas, two timed
modes have been provided.
Timing while getting into the car
The roof light switches on as follows:
❒ for about 10 seconds when the doors
are unlocked;
❒ for about 3 minutes when one of the
doors is opened;
❒ for about 10 seconds when one of the
doors is closed.
The timed period is interrupted when the
ignition is turned to “MAR-ON”.

Timing while getting out of the car
After removing the key from the ignition
switch, the roof light will switch on as
follows:
❒ for about 10 seconds, if the key is
removed within 2 minutes of the engine
switching off;
❒ for about 3 minutes when one of the
doors is opened;
❒ for about 10 seconds when one of the
doors is closed.
The timing stops automatically when the
doors are locked.
WINDSCREEN WASHER/
WIPER
This operates only with the ignition key
turned to MAR.
Operation
12) 13)
Ring nut 1 fig. 18 can be set to the
following positions:
å windscreen wiper off;
intermittent operation;
continuous slow operation;
continuous fast operation.
18A0L0021
Move the stalk upwards (unstable
position) to limit operation to the time
for which the stalk is held in this
position. When released, the stalk will
return to its initial position and the
screen wiper will be stopped
automatically.
With ring nut 1 fig. 18 in position,
the windscreen wiper will automatically
adapt its operating speed to the speed
of the vehicle.
12)Do not use the screen wiper to
remove layers of snow or ice from the
windscreen. In such conditions, the
windscreen wiper may be subjected to
excessive stress and the motor cut-out
switch, which prevents operation for a
few seconds, may intervene.
If operation is not restored
(even after restarting that car with the
key), contact a dedicated Alfa Romeo
Dealership.
13)Do not operate the screen wiper with
the blades lifted from the windscreen.

FUEL CONSUMPTION ACCORDING TO THE CURRENT EUROPEAN DIRECTIVE (litres/100 km)
FUEL CONSUMPTION
The fuel consumption figures given in the table below are determined on the basis of the type-approval tests laid down by specific
European Directives.
The following procedures are used to measure the fuel consumption:
❒ urban cycle: cold starting followed by driving that simulates urban use of the car;
❒ extra-urban cycle: driving that simulates extra-urban use of the car, with frequent acceleration in all gears; the speed varies from
0 to 120 km/h;
❒ combined consumption: this is calculated with a weighting of about 37% urban cycle consumption and about 63% extra-urban
consumption.
IMPORTANT The type of route, traffic situations, weather conditions, driving style, general conditions of the car, trim
level/equipment/accessories, load, climate control system, roof rack, other situations that affect air drag may lead to different fuel
consumption levels than those measured.

❒ Do not fix a roof rack to the top.
❒ Do not remove ice from the soft top
with sharp items.
❒ Do not place objects on the soft top,
as they could fall causing damage or
injury.
❒ It is advisable to cover the top with a
protective sheet if the car is left parked
in the open for a long time.
❒ Do not keep the soft top folded for a
long time: this could cause folds and
creases in the fabric.
❒ Do not store the soft top in its
compartment when very dirty or wet, to
avoid any mildew or damage.
❒ with soft top installed, when travelling
over 130 km/h the aerodynamic comfort
may not be optimal.WASHING/CLEANING THE SOFT TOP
30)
Use of specific products is recommended
for washing the soft top cloth.
The soft top fabric is treated with a
special water-repellent, waterproof
product.
The water-repellent properties will
degrade in time with exposure to the
weather elements. Observe the following
instructions for washing:
it is recommended to wash by hand.
Remove as much dirt from the surface of
the soft top with a soft brush or vacuum
cleaning before washing it.
This operation will considerably improve
the final result.
In lack of specific products, use water
and mild soap applied with a sponge
(preferably in the shade) for washing.
Rinse the soft top with clean water after
having eliminated all the stains.
Leave the car in the shade after washing
avoiding direct sunlight.
Waterproofing the top
31)
Use specific waterproofing products for
fabric soft-tops.
Interior top fabric
Remove dust with a soft brush.
Avoid using hard brushes made of
synthetic material to prevent damaging
the fabric beyond repair.
Clean the surface with a microfibre cloth
or soft sponge dipped in a solution of
water and mild soap. Clean the entire
surface, including the zones where
cleaning is not needed, to prevent haloes
or staining.
Use common, car care mild stain
removers for more stubborn stains.
Apply by blotting (never rubbing) directly
on the area of the stain.
139
SCHEDULED SERVICING
During each scheduled servicing
operation and anyway every 12 months,
check operation of the soft top locks.135)Before starting the car make sure
the soft top is correctly locked.
It is recommended not to remove/install
the soft top with people sitting in the car,
as the soft top could fall in the passenger
compartment while it is moved.
Be careful while installing/removing the
soft top to prevent any damage or injury.
Keep children away from the area in which
the soft-top is folding while
installing/removing it.
IMPORTANT
29)Never open the soft top in presence
of snow or ice to prevent damage. Loads
may not be secured on the vehicle roof.
30)Bird droppings and plant resins must
be washed off the soft top immediately
as they can damage its fabric. Never use
high-pressure washing systems. When
using steam washers or high-pressure
water washers, maintain a suitable
distance and do not exceed a maximum
temperature of 60°C.
Damage, alterations and water
infiltration may occur if the distance is
too small and the pressure is too high.
WARNING
If a water jet is used, direct away from the
edges of the fabric and the windscreen
surround: water infiltration can occur.
Never use alcohol, petrol, chemical
products, detergents, stain removers,
wax, solvents and “wash and polish”
products. Rinse immediate to remove
soap to prevent stains and halos.
Repeat the operation if needed.
31) Follow the instructions on the
waterproofing product container for
perfect results. The rubber seals of the
soft top must be washed with water only.
If you notice that this trim is dry or is
sticking, apply talcum powder or products
specifically for rubber trim (silicone
spray).
