Windows, glass and mirrors
The vehicle is equipped with controls for win-dows, glass and mirrors. Some of the windowsin the car are laminated.
Laminated glass
The windshield has laminated glass. Laminatedglass is also available as on option for someother glass surfaces. Laminated glass is rein-forced, which provides better protection againstbreak-ins and improved soundproofing in thepassenger compartment.
The panoramic roof* also has laminated glass.

Pinch protection for windows andsun curtains
All power windows and sun curtains* have apinch protection function that is triggered if any-thing blocks them while they are opening orclosing.
If pinch protection is activated, movement willstop and then retract automatically to approx.50 mm (2 inches) from the point at which it wasblocked (or to full ventilation position).
It is still possible to override pinch protectionwhen closing is interrupted (e.g. due to ice) bypressing and holding down the control in thesame direction.
If there is any problem with the pinch protection,a rest procedure can be tested.
WARNING
If the starter battery is disconnected, the func-tion for automatic opening and closing mustbe reset to function correctly. A reset isrequired in order for the pinch protection towork.

Power windows
The power windows are operated using the con-trol panels found in the doors. The driver's doorhas controls for operating all windows and foractivating the child safety locks.
The power window in left rear door can also beoperated with the control panel in the right reardoor.

Operating the power windows
All power windows can be operated using thecontrol panel in the driver's door. The controlpanels in the other doors can be used to oper-ate that particular door.
The power window in left rear door can also beoperated with the control panel in the right reardoor.

Operating the power windows.
Operating manually. Move one of the controlsslightly up or down. The power windows goup or down while the control is held in posi-tion.
Operating with automatic controls. Move oneof the controls up or down to its end positionand release it. The window moves automati-cally to its fully closed/open position.
To use the power windows, the ignition must bein at least mode I or II. After the ignition hasbeen switched off, the power windows can beoperated for several minutes or until a door isopened. Only one control panel can be operatedat a time.
It can also be operated using keyless opening*with the door handle.
WARNING
Make sure that no child or other passengercomes into contact with the windows as theyare closing with keyless closing*.
NOTE
One way to reduce the pulsating wind noiseheard when the rear windows are open is toalso open the front windows slightly.
NOTE
The windows cannot be opened at speedsover approx. 180 km/h (ca112 mph), but theycan be closed.
The driver is always responsible for followingapplicable traffic regulations.

Automatic folding when the vehicle is
locked *
The door mirrors can automatically fold in whenthe vehicle is locked and open when the vehicleis unlocked using the remote key.
1.Tap Settings in the center display's Topview.
2. Tap My CarMirrors and Convenience.
3.Select Fold Mirror When Locked to acti-vate/deactivate.

Panoramic roof
The panoramic roof is divided into two glasssections. The front section can be opened verti-cally at the rear edge (ventilation position) or hor-izontally (open position). The rear section cannotbe moved.
The panoramic roof has a wind deflector andsun curtain made of perforated fabric (locatedbeneath the glass sections) for extra protectionin e.g. bright sunlight.
The panoramic roof and sun curtain are operatedusing the controls in the ceiling.
The panoramic roof and sun curtain can also beoperated with the controls in the right-side reardoor.
It can also be operated using keyless opening*with the door handle.
To operate the panoramic roof and sun curtain,the ignition must be in mode I or II.

Manual operation
1. To open the panoramic roof to the ventilationposition, move the panoramic roof controldownward to the manual opening position.
2. To open the sun curtain, move the sun cur-tain control downward to the manual openposition.
3. To open the panoramic roof fully, move thepanoramic roof control downward a secondtime to the manual operation position.
To close, pull up the respective control to themanual closing position.
Auto operation
1. To open to the ventilation position, move thepanoramic roof control downward to the autoopen position and release.
2. To open to the sun curtain, move the suncurtain control downward to the auto openposition and release.
3. To open the panoramic roof, move the panor-amic roof control downward a second time tothe auto open position and release.
To close, pull up the respective control to theautomatic closing position.
Automatic operation - rapid opening and
closing
The panoramic roof and sun curtain can beopened or closed simultaneously.
1. To open to the ventilation position, move thepanoramic roof control downward to the autoposition and release.
2. To open fully, move the sun curtain controldownward to the auto position and release.Then immediately move the panoramic roofcontrol downward to the auto position andrelease.
–To close, pull up the panoramic roof controlto the auto position and release. Then imme-diately move the sun curtain control up to theauto position and release.

Auto closing the panoramic roofsun curtain
With this function, the sun curtain closes auto-matically 15 minutes after the car has beenlocked if it is parked in hot weather. This is doneto lower the passenger compartment tempera-ture and protect the upholstery against beingbleached by the sun.
The function is deactivated as the default factorysetting and can be activated or deactivated usingthe center display.
1.Tap Settings in the Top view in the centerdisplay.
2.Tap My CarLocking.
Select Auto Close Sunroof Curtain toactivate/deactivate.
NOTE
The sun curtain also closes when all windowsare closed with keyless closing*.

The wipers and the washer fluid are used toimprove visibility and the headlight pattern.
The washer nozzles are heated* automatically incold weather to prevent the washer fluid fromfreezing.
When there is approximately 1 liter (1 qt) ofwasher fluid remaining, a message to refill willappear in the instrument panel.

SEATS AND STEERING WHEEL

Manual front seats
The power front seats can be adjusted in a num-ber of different ways for optimal comfort andergonomics.
Raise/lower the front edge of the seat cush-
ion* by moving the control up/down.1
Change the length of the seat cushion* bypulling up the lever and moving the cushionforward/backward.
Move the seat forward/backing by lifting thehandle and moving the seat to a suitable dis-tance from the steering wheel and pedals.Check to make sure the seat is securelylocked into place after its setting has beenchanged.
Adjust lumbar support by pressing the button
up/down/forward/rearward2.
Raise/lower the seat by moving the controlup/down.
Change the backrest tilt by turning the knobon the backrest.
WARNING
Do not adjust the seat while driving. Theseat should be adjusted so that the brakepedal can be depressed fully. In addition,position the seat as far rearward as com-fort and control allow.
Check that the seat is securely lockedinto position after adjusting.
