Operating the panoramic roof
The panoramic roof and sun curtain are oper-ated using a control in the ceiling panel, andboth are equipped with pinch protection.
The control in the right rear door can also beused for operation.

CAUTION

It can also be operated using keyless opening*with the door handle.
WARNING
Make sure that no child or other passengercomes into contact with the windows as theyare closing with keyless closing*.
CAUTION
Check that the panoramic roof is properlyclosed when closing.
The movement of the roof will stop if the controlis released during manual operation or when theglass has reached the fully open/closed position.The movement of both the panoramic roof andthe sun curtain is also stopped if the control inthe ceiling is operated again in the directionopposite that of the current direction of move-
ment. Movement will also stop if the control in theright rear door is moved again in any direction.
The panoramic roof and sun curtain are alsoequipped with pinch protection. If there is anyproblem with the pinch protection, a rest proce-dure can be tested.
NOTE
For manual opening, the sun curtain must becompletely open before the panoramic roofcan be opened. For the reverse procedure,the panoramic roof must be completelyclosed before the sun curtain can be com-pletely closed.
Opening and closing ventilation
position
Ventilation position, rear edge raised.
Open by pushing the control upward once.
Close by pushing the control downwardonce.
When ventilation mode is selected, the rear edgeof the front section of the roof is raised. If the suncurtain is fully closed when ventilation position isselected, it will automatically open approx. 50 mm(approx. 2 inches).
If the panoramic roof is closed from the ventila-tion position, the sun curtain will also automati-cally close.

Using the windshield wipers
The windshield wipers clean the windshield. Theright-side steering wheel lever is used to adjustwindshield wiper settings.
Right-hand steering wheel lever.
Thumb wheel, used to set rain sensor sensi-tivity and interval wiper speed.
Single sweep
Move the lever down and release for asingle sweep.
Wipers off
Move the lever to position 0 to turn offthe windshield wipers.
Interval wipers
Set the number of sweeps per time unitwith the thumb wheel when interval wip-ers are selected.
Continuous wipers
Move the lever upward for the wipers tooperate at normal speed.
Move the lever upward again for the wip-ers to operate at high speed.
CAUTION
Before activating the wipers, make sure thatthe wiper blades are not frozen in place andthat any snow or ice on the windshield hasbeen scraped away.
CAUTION
Use plenty of washer fluid when the wipersclean the windshield. The windshield must bewet when the windshield wipers are working.

Using the rain sensor
The rain sensor monitors the amount of water onthe windshield and automatically starts the wind-shield wipers. Rain sensor sensitivity can beadjusted using the thumb wheel on the right-hand steering wheel lever.

When the rain sensor is activated, the rainsensor symbol will be displayed in the instrumentpanel.
Activating the rain sensor
When the rain sensor is activated, the enginemust be running or the ignition must be in mode Ior II. The windshield wiper lever must also be inposition 0 or in the single sweep position.

Activate the rain sensor by pressing the rain sen-
sor button .
If the lever is pressed down, the wipers will makeadditional sweeps across the windshield.
Turn the thumb wheel upward for increased sen-sitivity and downward for decreased sensitivity.The wipers will make one extra sweep when thethumb wheel is turned upward.
Deactivate the rain sensor
Deactivate the rain sensor by pressing the rain sensor button or moving the lever upward toanother wiper mode.
The rain sensor is automatically deactivated inignition mode 0 or when the engine is switchedoff.
The rain sensor is also automatically deactivatedwhen the wiper blades are put in the serviceposition. The rain sensor will reactivate whenservice mode is switched off.
CAUTION
The windshield wipers may start inadvertentlyand be damaged in automatic car washes.Deactivate the rain sensor when the engine isrunning or when the ignition is in mode I or II.The symbol in the instrument panel will goout.

Using stored positions for seats,

If the positions for the power* seat, door mirrorsand head-up display* have been stored, they canbe easily activated using the memory buttons.
Using a stored position
A stored position can be used with the front dooropen or closed:
Front door open
–Briefly press one of the memory buttons 1
() or 2 (). The power seats, door mirrorsand head-up display will move and stop atthe positions stored in that button.
Front door closed
–Press and hold one of the memory buttons 1
() or 2 () until the seat, door mirrorsand head-up display stop in the positionsstored in that memory button.
If the memory button is released, the seat, doormirrors and head-up display will stop moving.
WARNING
This list point needs to be translatedexactly to: "Because the driver's seat canbe adjusted with the ignition off, childrenshould never be left unattended in thevehicle.
Movement of the seat can be STOPPEDat any time by pressing any button on thepower seat control panel.
Do not adjust the seat while driving.
The seat should be adjusted so that thebrake pedal can be depressed fully. Inaddition, position the seat as far rearwardas comfort and control allow.
The seat rails on the floor must not beobstructed in any way when the seat is inmotion.

Heater
The heater helps the engine and passengercompartment reach the correct temperaturebefore and while driving.
The heater has two sub-functions:
Parking heater - heats the passenger com-partment as needed when the parking cli-mate's preconditioning is activated.
Auxiliary heater - heats the passenger com-partment and engine while driving.
The heater is a high-voltage coolant heater and ismounted in the front right-side wheel housing.
Battery and charging
The heater is powered by the vehicle's hybrid bat-tery. If the charge level in the hybrid battery is toolow, the heater will switch off automatically and amessage will be displayed in the instrumentpanel.
NOTE
Make sure that the battery has sufficientcharge if the heater must be used.

Parking heater
The parking heater heats the passenger com-partment as needed before driving if precondi-tioning is activated.
The parking heater is one of two sub-functions ofthe vehicle's heater. The heater is mounted in thefront right-side wheel housing.
The parking heater starts automatically if theparking climate's preconditioning is activated andthe passenger compartment needs to be heated.
It switches off automatically when a set timertime or the heater's maximum run time expires, orif the car is restarted.
The heater's maximum running time is 40minutes.
Additional heater
The auxiliary heater helps heat the passengercompartment and engine while driving.
The auxiliary heater is one of two sub-functionsof the vehicle's heater. The heater is mounted inthe front right-side wheel housing.
The auxiliary heater is started and controlledautomatically when extra heat is required whilethe vehicle is being driven.
It switches off automatically when the ignition isswitched off.

Illuminated indicator lights in each door indicatethat that particular door is locked. If any door isunlocked and opened, the indicator light in thatdoor will go out. The lights in the other doors willremain illuminated.

Settings for how the vehicle confirms lockingand unlocking can be adjusted in the center dis-play's Settings menu.
Locking response:
1.Tap Settings in the center display's Topview.
2. Tap My CarLocking.
3.Tap Visible Locking Feedback to deacti-vate the function or to select when the vehi-cle should provide a visible response: duringLock, Unlock or Both.
4. Select to receive an audible response whenlocking the vehicle by marking AudibleLocking Feedback.

Remote key
The remote key is used to lock and unlock doorsand the trunk lid. The remote key must be in thevehicle in order to start the engine.

The remote key is not physically used to start theignition because the vehicle is standard-equippedwith keyless start (Passive Start).

Activating and deactivating childsafety locks
Child safety locks help prevent children fromopening the rear doors from inside the vehicle.There is an electric safety lock* and a manualsafety lock.
Activating and deactivating electric
child safety locks *
The electric child safety lock can be activatedand deactivated in any ignition mode higher than0. The lock can be activated and deactivated upto 2 minutes after the ignition is turned off if nodoor has been opened.
Button for electric activation and deactivation.
1. Turn on the ignition and select any ignitionmode higher than 0.
2.Press the button on the driver's door controlpanel.
>The message Rear child lock Activatedwill be shown in the instrument panel andthe indicator light will illuminate to showthat the child safety locks are activated.
When the electric child safety locks are activated:
the rear windows can only be opened usingthe driver's door control panel
the rear doors cannot be opened from theinside.
The buttons on the right-side rear door will alsobe deactivated.
To deactivate the child safety locks:
–Press the button on the driver's door controlpanel.
>The message Rear child lockDeactivated will be shown in the instru-ment panel and the indicator light will goout to show that the child safety locks aredeactivated.
When the ignition is switched off, the current set-ting will be saved. If the child safety locks wereactivated when the ignition was switched off, theywill remain activated the next time the ignition isstarted.
