When trouble arises

If the vehicle becomes stuck
Stop the engine. Set the parking brake and shift the shift lever to P
(Multidrive) or N (manual transmission).
Remove the mud, snow or sand from around the front wheels.
Place wood, stones or some other material under the front wheels
to help provide traction.
Restart the engine.
Shift the shift lever to D or R (Multidrive) or 1 or R (manual trans-
mission) and release the parking brake. Then, while exercising cau-
tion, depress the accelerator pedal.

Carry out the following procedures if the tires spin or the vehicle
becomes stuck in mud, dirt or snow:
Press to turn off TRC.
When your vehicle becomes stuck and
cannot move, the emergency hooks are
used for another vehicle to pull your vehi-
cle out in an emergency.
Your vehicle is not designed to tow
another vehicle.

Customizable features
When customizing vehicle features, ensure that the vehicle is parked
in a safe place with the shift lever in P (Multidrive) or N (manual trans-
mission) and the parking brake set.
Various setting can be changed. Refer to the list of settings that can be
changed for details.

Changing using the multi-information display (vehicles with
color display)
Press or of the meter control switches and select

Your vehicle includes a variety of electronic features that can be
personalized to suit your preferences. The settings of these fea-
tures can be changed using the multi-information display, on the
navigation/multimedia system, or at any authorized Toyota
retailer or Toyota authorized repairer, or any reliable repairer.
Some function settings are changed simultaneously with other func-
tions being customized. Contact any authorized Toyota retailer or
Toyota authorized repairer, or any reliable repairer for further details.
