position P. On slopes you should first apply
the parking brake and then set the lever to P.
This makes it easier to remove the lever from
position P when starting.
If the driver door is opened and the lever is
not in position P, the vehicle could move. The
following warning is displayed on the instru-

The assistant attempts to maintain the speed
at which the v ehicl

be necessary to correct the speed by press-
ing the brake.
The assistant can only change down as far
as 3rd gear. It is possible that on very steep
slopes you have to switch to tiptronic mode
and change down to 2nd or 1st gear to take
advantage of engine braking and take the
load off the brake system.
Downhill speed control is deactivated as
soon as the road levels out again or you press
the accelerator pedal.

not continue driving. Seek specialist assis-
