Electronic key synchronisation
The electronic key synchronises itself automatically during every starting
procedure.
Fault
If the central locking cannot be
operated or the propulsion system
cannot be started, the cause may be
one of the following:
● Fault in electronic key.
● Electronic key is out of reception range.
● The battery voltage is too low.
● Overload of the central locking system by operating at frequent
intervals, the power supply is
interrupted for a short time.
● Interference from higher-power radio waves from other sources.
To rectify the cause of the fault,
change the position of the electronic
key.
Manual unlocking 3 20.Memorised settings
Whenever the ignition is switched off, some functions of the following
settings may be automatically
memorised by the remote control unit
or the electronic key:
● automatic climate control
● lighting
● Infotainment system
● central locking system
● comfort settings
The saved settings are automatically
used the next time the vehicle is
switched on with the memorised
electronic key 3 19.
A precondition is that Personalisation
by driver is activated in the personal
settings of the Info Display. This must be set for each electronic key which is
used. The status change is available
only after locking and unlocking the
vehicle.
Vehicle personalisation 3 90.Central locking system
Unlocks and locks doors and load
compartment.
A pull on an interior door handle
unlocks the respective door. Pulling
the handle once more opens the door.
Note
In the event of an accident in which
airbags or belt pretensioners are
deployed, the vehicle is
automatically unlocked.
Note
A short time after unlocking with the
remote control the doors are locked
automatically if no door has been
opened. A precondition is that the
setting is activated in the vehicle
personalisation 3 90.

Indicates vehicle speed.
Odometer
The total recorded distance is
displayed in km.
Battery gauge
This displays the high voltage battery state of charge. The value in the
centre is an estimate of how far the
vehicle can be driven on the
remaining charge based on driving
habits and conditions learned over several days.
The maximum value is shown above
the display and the minimum value
below the display. The values
indicate the longest and shortest
possible range as estimated from
current vehicle conditions and climate
settings.
The mileage estimate and maximum
and minimum numbers are affected
by climate control system usage.
Estimated range may increase or
decrease based on changes in
climate control energy consumption.
A trend bar on the far left indicates
how recent driving habits, vehicle
conditions and climate settings are
affecting the range prediction.
When the high voltage battery state of charge is very low the estimated
range value in the centre will change
to Low . Maximum and minimum
ranges will no longer be displayed.
Additional alerts may display and a
sound may also be heard at low state
of charge.

High voltage battery power is active
with energy flowing to the wheels or
no power is flowing to the wheel when
vehicle is stationary.

Impacts Since Last Full Charge and
Efficiency History touch Energy and
then Information . Touch < or > to go
to the next screen.
Energy details
The Energy details screen displays
how energy is being used since the
last time the high voltage battery was
fully charged. It includes Driving and
accessories , Climate settings and
Battery conditioning . The circle graph
displays these percentages. Energy
used and Distance travelled are also
displayed on the screen.
Range Impacts Since Last Full
Charge
This screen provides an estimate of
the factors that influence energy
usage since the last full charge of the
high voltage battery. A positive
number is desired to reach the
vehicle’s electric economy rating.
● Technique includes speed,
acceleration, and braking.
● Terrain includes road conditions,
such as hills, rain, and snow and
may be affected by wind and tyre pressure.

heating and air conditioning are
used. Using fan only settings will
help reduce your climate setting
losses.
● Outside temperature includes the
effect that hot or cold air has on
vehicle aerodynamics.
The individual vehicle range impacts
provide an understanding of how electric economy are different from
day-to-day, even when travelling the
same route.
All values are reset after a complete
charge and may not be stable until
approximately 16 km have been
driven.Efficiency History
The Efficiency History graph shows
the average economy over the last
50 km.
The present bar provides the average economy for the current 5 km.
Touch Reset to clear the history data.
Charging Options
To view and change the Charging
Options , touch Energy and then
Charging Options . Use the arrows to
scroll through the list.
The following list of menu items may
be available:
● Charge limit : This feature allows
the vehicle’s charge level to be selected so it matches the
capability of the charging
location.
● Displayed Charge Times : This
feature determines how the
charge times are displayed on
the charge mode status screen.
● Location-based charging : This
feature allows the charging
settings to be remembered at the

level of the cabin airflow of the
climate control in automatic
mode.
Auto heated seats : Automatically
activates the seat and steering
wheel heating.
Auto demist : Supports
windscreen dehumidification by
automatically selecting the
necessary settings and
automatic air conditioning mode.
● Comfort and convenience
Chime volume : Changes the
volume of warning chimes.
Personalisation by driver :
Activates or deactivates the
personalisation function.Auto wipe in reverse gear :
Activates or deactivates
automatic switching on of the
rear window wiper when reverse gear is engaged.
● Collision / detection systems
Pedestrian safety signal :
Activates or deactivates
pedestrian safety alert. Even if
pedestrian safety signal is
deactivated, it is automatically
activated while this menu is not
accessible such as OnStar
calling, camera projection, Apple
CarPlay and Android Auto, non-
auto dismiss pop-up, etc.
Forward Collision System : This
allows the feature’s notification to
be customised. This feature will
turn on or off the Forward
Collision Alert and Active
Emergency Braking. The Off
setting disables all Forward
Collision Alert and Active
Emergency Braking functions.
With the Alert and Brake setting,
both Forward Collision Alert and
Active Emergency Braking are
available. The Alert setting

Press hMAX . The LED in the
button illuminates to indicate
activation. When hMAX is
selected, air is directed to the
windscreen and the fan runs at a
higher speed. Fog or frost is cleared from the windscreenmore quickly.
● Temperature and air distribution are set automatically and the fan
runs at high speed.
● Switch on heated rear window

● To return to previous mode: press h, to return to automatic
mode: press AUTO.

heating can be changed in the
Info Display.

System activation ON/OFF Cooling, fan and automatic mode can
be switched off by pressing ON/OFF.
Manual settings Climate control system settings can
be changed by activating the buttons
and rotary knobs as described below.
Changing a setting will deactivate
automatic mode.Fan speed Z,
Press lower button to decrease or
upper button to increase fan speed.
The fan speed is indicated in the
lower display area.
If the fan is switched off, the air
conditioning is also deactivated.
