Requirements:RThevehicle is secured withthe electric park‐ing brake.
RVehicles with automatic transmission:The transmission is in position].
RThe ignition and all electrical consumers areswitched off.
RThe hood is open.
Slide cover1of positive clamp2onthejump-starting connection point inthe direc‐tion ofthe arrow.
Connect positive clamp2onyourvehicletothe positive pole ofthe donor battery usingthe jumper cable/charging cable. Alwaysbegin with positive clamp2onyourownvehiclefirst.

Blown fuses must bereplaced with fuses ofthesamerating, whichyou canrecognizebythecolor and fuserating. The fuseratings and fur‐ther informationtobe observed are listed inthefuse assignment diagram.

NOTEDamageor malfunctions causedbymoisture
Moisture may cause damagetothe electricalsystem or cause ittomalfunction.
Whenthe fuse box is open, make surethat no moisture can enterthe fusebox.
When closingthe fuse box, make surethatthe seal ofthe lid is positioned cor‐rectly onthe fuse box.
Ifthe newly inserted fuse also blows, havethecause traced andrectified at aqualified special‐istworkshop.
Ensurethefollowing beforereplacing a fuse:
RThevehicle is secured againstrollingaway
RAll electrical consumers are switched off
RThe ignition is switched off

Whenthe engine hood is open andthe wind‐shield wipers are set in motion,you can betrappedbythe wiper linkage.
Always switch offthe windshield wipersand ignition before openingthe enginehood.

Pull cover1upwards inthe direction ofthearrow.
Removeanyexisting moisture fromthe fusebox using a dry cloth.
Loosen screws4,removefuse box lid3fromthetop.
Closing
Check whetherthe seal is positioned cor‐rectly in lid3.
Insert lid3intothe bracket attherear ofthe fuse box.
Fold down lid3ofthe fuse box and tightenscrews4.
Insert cover1on bothsides.
Turnclips2on cover1clockwise aquar‐ter-turn.
Closethe hood.

\nWARNING‑ Risk offireand injury fromwindshieldwasher concentrate
Windshieldwasher concentrate is highlyflammable. It could ignite if it comes intocontact withhot engine component parts ortheexhaust system.
Make surethat no windshieldwasherconcentrate spills out nexttothefilleropening.
NOTEDamagetotheexterior lightingduetounsuitable windshieldwasherfluid
Unsuitable windshieldwasherfluid may dam‐agethe plastic surface oftheexterior light‐ing.
Only use windshieldwasherfluid whichis also suitablefor use on plastic surfa‐ces, e.g. MB SummerFit or MBWinter‐Fit.
NOTEBlocked spraynozzles causedbymixing windshieldwasherfluids
Do not mix MB SummerFit and MBWin‐terFit withother windshieldwasherflu‐ids.
Do not use distilled or de-ionizedwater asthefilllevel sensor may be triggered erroneously.
