CHILD SAFETY LOCKS
When these locks are set, the rear doorscannot be opened from the inside.
The childproof locks are located on the rearedge of each rear door and must be setseparately for each door.

WARNING: If a supplementaryrestraint system component has deployed,it will not function again. Have the systemand associated components inspected assoon as possible. Failure to follow thisinstruction could result in personal injuryor death.
The Safety Canopy will deploy duringsignificant side crashes or when a certainlikelihood of a rollover event is detected bythe rollover sensor. The Safety Canopy ismounted to the roof side-rail sheet metal,behind the headliner, above each row of
seats. In certain sideways crashes or rolloverevents, the Safety Canopy will be activated,regardless of which seats are occupied. TheSafety Canopy is designed to inflate betweenthe side window area and occupants tofurther enhance protection provided in sideimpact crashes and rollover events.
The system consists of the following:
•Safety canopy curtain airbags above thetrim panels over the front and rear sidewindows identified by a label or wordingon the headliner or roof-pillar trim.
•A flexible headliner which opens abovethe side doors to allow air curtaindeployment
· Crash sensors and monitoringsystem with readiness indicator.See Crash Sensors and AirbagIndicator (page 57).
Always properly restrain children 12 yearsold and under in the rear seats. The SafetyCanopy will not interfere with childrenrestrained using a properly installed child orbooster seat because it is designed to inflatedownward from the headliner above thedoors along the side window opening.

Accessory Delay
The window switches remain operational forseveral minutes when you switch the ignitionoff or until you open either front door.
GLOBAL OPENING AND CLOSING
You can use the remote control to operatethe windows with the ignition off.
Note:You can enable or disable this featurein the information display or see anauthorized dealer. See General Information(page 105).
Note:To operate this feature, accessorydelay must not be active.
Opening the Windows
You can only open the windows for a shorttime after you unlock your vehicle with theremote control. After you unlock your vehicle,press and hold the remote control unlockbutton to open the windows and vent themoonroof. Release the button oncemovement starts. Press the lock or unlockbutton to stop movement.
Closing the Windows
WARNING: When closing thewindows and moonroof, you should verifythey are free of obstructions and makesure that children and pets are not in theproximity of the window openings.
To close the windows and moonroof, pressand hold the remote control lock button.Release the button once movement starts.Press the lock or unlock button to stopmovement.

Rotate the sun visor toward the side windowand extend it rearward for extra shade.
Illuminated Vanity Mirror
Lift the cover to switch the lamp on.
MOONROOF (If Equipped)
WARNING: Do not let children playwith the moonroof or leave themunattended in the vehicle. They mayseriously hurt themselves.
WARNING: When closing themoonroof, you should verify that it is freeof obstructions and make sure that childrenand pets are not in the proximity of the roofopening.
Note:Do not attempt to move the sunshadesmanually or sunshade damage ormalfunction may occur. The sunshade trackclips are designed to release the sunshadecrossbar in order to prevent damage to thesystem. If this happens, you may need toslide the sunshade crossbar ends back intoposition to regain proper function. Contactan authorized dealer for proper moonroofor sunshade operating, diagnostic or repairinstructions.
Note:If the moonroof is excessivelyoperated, the glass and shade motors gointo a fail-safe jog mode. This mode allowsmanual intermittent operation to preventoverheating or damage to the motor. Themotors return to normal operation after aperiod of idle time.
The moonroof and sunshade controls are onthe overhead console and have a one-touchopen and close feature. There is only onecontrol in the center position if the vehiclehas a fixed glass roof. To stop it duringone-touch operation, press the control asecond time.
Opening the Sunshade and Moonroof
Note:The moonroof only opens after thesunshades completely open.
Press and release the control to open thesunshade. The front and rear sunshadesopen simultaneously.
Press and release the control to open themoonroof. The moonroof stops short of thefully opened position.

Note:This position helps to reduce windnoise or rumbling which may happen withthe moonroof fully open. Press and releasethe control again to fully open the moonroof.
Closing the Moonroof and Sunshades
Note:The sunshades only close after themoonroof completely closes.
Pull and release the control. The moonroofstops short of the fully closed position. Pullthe control again and hold to fully close themoonroof.
Pull and release the control to close thesunshades. The sunshades stop short of thefully closed position. Pull the control againand hold to fully close the sunshades.
Venting the Moonroof (If Equipped)
Press and release the TILT control to ventthe moonroof. Pull and hold the TILT controlto close the moonroof.

PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
WARNING: Vehicle modificationsinvolving braking system, aftermarket roofracks, suspension, steering system, tireconstruction and wheel and tire size maychange the handling characteristics of yourvehicle and may adversely affect theperformance of the electronic stabilitycontrol system. In addition, installing anystereo loudspeakers may interfere withand adversely affect the electronic stabilitycontrol system. Install any aftermarketstereo loudspeaker as far as possible fromthe front center console, the tunnel, andthe front seats in order to minimize the riskof interfering with the electronic stabilitycontrol sensors. Reducing theeffectiveness of the electronic stabilitycontrol system could lead to an increasedrisk of loss of vehicle control, vehiclerollover, personal injury and death.
WARNING: Remember that evenadvanced technology cannot defy the lawsof physics. It’s always possible to losecontrol of a vehicle due to inappropriatedriver input for the conditions. Aggressivedriving on any road condition can causeyou to lose control of your vehicleincreasing the risk of personal injury orproperty damage. Activation of theelectronic stability control system is anindication that at least some of the tireshave exceeded their ability to grip theroad; this could reduce the operator’sability to control the vehicle potentiallyresulting in a loss of vehicle control, vehiclerollover, personal injury and death. If yourelectronic stability control system activates,SLOW DOWN.
The system automatically turns on each timeyou switch the ignition on.
If a fault occurs in either the stability controlor the traction control system, you mayexperience the following conditions:
•The stability and traction control lightilluminates steadily.
•The stability control and traction controlsystems do not enhance your vehicle'sability to maintain traction of the wheels.
If a driving condition activates either thestability control or the traction control systemyou may experience the following conditions:
•The stability and traction control lightflashes.
•Your vehicle slows down.
•Reduced engine power.
•A vibration in the brake pedal.
•The brake pedal is stiffer than usual.
•If the driving condition is severe and yourfoot is not on the brake, the brake pedalmay move as the system applies higherbrake force.
The stability control system has severalfeatures built into it to help you maintaincontrol of your vehicle:

Stability Control

The system detects an available parallelparking space and automatically steers yourvehicle (hands-free) while you control theaccelerator, transmission and brakes. Thesystem visually and audibly guides you topark your vehicle.
If you are uncomfortable with the proximityto any vehicle or object, you may choose tooverride the system by grabbing the steeringwheel or pushing the active park assistbutton.
The system may not operate correctly in anyof the following conditions:
•You use a spare tire or a tire significantlyworn more than the other tires.
•One or more tires are improperly inflated.
•You try to park on a tight curve.
•Something passes between the frontbumper and the parking space. Forexample, a pedestrian or cyclist.
•The edge of the neighboring parkingvehicle is high off the ground. Forexample, a bus, tow truck or flatbedtruck.
•The weather conditions are poor. Forexample, during heavy rain, snow or fog.
Note: Keep the sensors, located on thefascia, free from now, ice and largeaccumulations of dirt. Covered sensors canaffect the systems accuracy. Do not cleanthe sensors with sharp objects.
Note:The sensors may not detect objectswith surfaces that absorb ultrasonic wavesor cause ultrasonic interference. Forexample, motorcycle exhaust, truck airbrakes or horns.
Note:Following a change in tire size, thesystem must recalibrate and operation maybe impaired for a short time.
Do not use the system if:
•You have attached a bike rack, trailer orother object near the sensors on the frontor rear of your vehicle.
•You have attached an overhangingobject to the roof. For example, asurfboard.
•A foreign object damages or obstructsthe sensors.
•The correct tire size is not in use. Forexample, when using a mini-spare tire.
Using Active Park Assist
Press the button to turn the systemon or off.
