General
information
The
vehicle
contains
advanced
technologies
for
the
reduction
of
consumption
and
emission
valj ues.
Fuel
consumption
depends
on
a
number
of
difj ferent
factors.
Carrying
out
certain
measures,
such
as
a
moderj
ate
driving
style
and
regular
maintenance,
can
inj fluence
fuel
consumption
and
the
environmental
impact.
Remove
unnecessary cargo
Additional
weight
increases
fuel
consumption.
Remove
attached
parts following
use
Remove
roof-mounted
luggage
racks
which
areno
longer
required
following
use.
Attached
parts
on
the
vehicle
impair
the
aerodyj
namics
and
increase
the
fuel
consumption.
Close
the
windows
and
glass
sunroof
Driving
with
the
glass
sunroof
and
windows
open
results
in
increased
air
resistance
and
thereby
rej
duces
the
range.
Tires
General
information Tires
can
affect
consumption
in
various
ways,
for
instance
tire
size
may
influence
consumption.
Check
the
tire
inflation
pressure regularly
Check
and,
if
needed,
correct
the
tire
inflation
pressure
at
least
twice
a
month
and
before
startj
ing
on
a
long
trip.
Low
tire
inflation
pressure
increases
rolling
rej sistance
and
thus
raises
fuel
consumption
and
tire
wear.
Drive
away
immediately
Do
not
wait
for
the
engine
to
warm-up
while
the vehicle
remains
stationary.
Start
driving
right
away,
but
at
moderate
engine
speeds.
This
is
the
quickest
way
of
warming
the
cold
enjgine
up
to
operating
temperature.
Look
well
ahead
whendriving
Driving
smoothly
and
proactively
reduces
fuel
consumption.
Avoid
unnecessary
acceleration
and

coasting.

the

longer
stops
Switching
off
the
engine

off

Auto
Start/Stop
functionThe
Auto
Start/Stop
function

the
vehicle

matically
switches
off

engine

stop.
If
the
engine

switched
off
and
then
restarted
rather
than
leaving
the
engine
running

fuel
consumption
and
emissions
are

Savings

seconds

switching

the

recommendation
General

gas
stations
sellfuel
that
has

customized
to
winter
orsummer
conditions.
Fuel
that
is
available
in
winjter,
for
instance
helps
make
a
cold
start
easier.
Gasoline General
information
For
the
best
fuel
efficiency,
the
gasoline
should
be
sulfur-free
or
very
low
in
sulfur
content.
Fuels
that
are
marked
on
the
gas
pump
as
conj
taining
metal
must
not
be
used.
Fuels
with
a
maximum
ethanol
content
of
10
%,
i.
e.,
E10,
may
be
used
for
refueling.
Ethanol
should
meet
the
following
quality
stanj dards:
US:
ASTM

CAN:
CGSB-3.511mxx

comply
with
the
current
standard
in
each
case.

Even
small
quantities
of
the
wrong
fuel
or wrong
fuel
additives
can
damage
the
fuel

tem
and

Furthermore,
the
catalytic
converter
is
permanently
damaged.

add the

in

gasoline
