Theshort-termmemorycollectsdrivinginforma-
tionfromthetimetheignitionisswitchedonun-
tilitisswitchedoff.Ifyoucontinuedrivingwithin
twohoursafterswitchingtheignitionoff,the
newvaluesareincludedwhencalculatingthecur-
renttripinformation.
Unliketheshort-termmemory,thelong-term
memoryisnoterasedautomatically.Youcanse-
lectthetimeperiodforevaluatingtripinforma-
tionyourself.
Energyconsumers*
The Energyconsumersviewlistsotherequip-
mentthatiscurrentlyaffectingfuelconsump-
tion.Thedisplayshowsuptothreeequipment
items.Theequipmentusingthemostpoweris
listedfirst.Ifmorethanthreeitemsusingpower
areswitchedon,theequipmentthatiscurrently
usingthemostpowerisdisplayed.Achartalso
showsyouthecurrenttotalofallotherconsum-
ers.

Thecurrentfuelconsumptioncan beshownusing
abargraph.Theaverageconsumptionstoredin

“LowerAnchoragesandTethersforChildren”.In

versalanchorages”(or“loweruniversalanchor-
agebars”)areusedtodescribethesystem.
Inothercountriestheterm“ISOFIX”isusedto
describetheloweranchorages.
Forward-facingchildrestraintsmanufacturedaf-
terSeptember1,1999,arerequiredbyU.S.fed-
eralregulationstocomplywithnewchildhead
movementperformancerequirements.These
newperformancerequirementsmakeatether
necessaryonmostnewchildseats.
Installingachildrestraintthatrequiresatop
tetherwithoutonecanseriouslyimpairtheper-
formanceofthechildrestraintanditsabilityto
protectthechildinacollision.Installinga child
restraintthatrequiresatoptetherwithoutthe
toptethermaybeaviolationof statelaw.
ChildrestraintmanufacturersofferLATCHlower
anchoragesontheirchildseatswithhook-onor
push-onconnectorsattachedtoadjustable
straps.
InadditiontotheLATCHlower anchorages, these
childrestraintsystemsusually requiretheuseof
tetherstrapstohelpkeepthechildrestraint
firmlyinplace.

ceed thepermittedlevelandtherearenoshock
loadingconditions.Thereisalwaystheriskofthe
couplingbecomingoverloadedwhendrivingoff-
road.
Forthemostsafetyandsecurity,drivewithatow
bar.Youshould useatowingcableonlyifatow
barisnotavailable.Useatowingcablemadeof
synthetic
elasticcablesimilarelasticmaterial.
