Automaticlockingfunction(AutoLock)
TheAutoLockfunctionlocksalldoorsandthe
luggagecompartmentlidoncethespeedhasex-
ceededapproximately9mph(15km/h).
Thevehiclecan beunlockediftheopeningfunc-
tioninthecentral lockingsystemswitchisused
oroneofthedoorhandlesispulled.The Auto
Lockfunctioncanbe switchedonandoffinthe
Infotainmentsystem=>page26.
Inthe eventofacrashwithairbagdeployment,
thedoorswillalsoautomaticallyunlocktoallow
accesstothevehicle.
Selectivedoorunlocking
Thedoorsandluggagecompartmentlidwilllock
whentheyclose.YoucansetintheInfotainment
systemwhetheronlythedriver'sdoorortheen-
tirevehicleshould beunlockedwhenunlocking

Turnsignals
Theturnsignalsflashtwicewhenyouunlockthe
vehicleandflashoncewhenyoulockthevehicle.
Iftheblinkingcontinues,oneofthedoorsorthe
luggagecompartmentlidisnotclosedortheig-
nitionisstillswitchedon.
Unintentionallylockingyourselfout
Onlylockyourvehiclewhenallofthedoorsand
theluggagecompartmentlidareclosedandthe
remotecontrolkeyisnotinthevehicle.Thisre-
ducestheriskoflockingyourselfoutaccidental-
ly.
Thefollowingconditionspreventyoufromlock-
ingyourremotecontrolkeyinthevehicle:
—Ifthedriver's doorisopen,thevehiclecannot
belockedbypressingthe&buttononthere-
motecontrolkeyorbytouchingthelocking
sensor*onadoor.
—Ifthemostrecentlyusedconveniencekey*is
insidetheluggagecompartment,theluggage
compartmentlidwillautomaticallyopenagain
afterclosingit.
—Ifthelastconveniencekey*thatwasusedisde-
tectedinsidethevehicle,thevehiclecannotbe
lockedfromtheoutsideforabrieftime>©.

conveniencekeymustnobemorethanapproxi-

Thefunctionshouldnot beimpairedifthecon-
veniencekeyisinyourjacketpocketorinyour
briefcase,forexample.
Ifyouholdthedoorhandlewhilelocking,this
can impair thelockingfunction.
Thedoor cannotbeopenedforabriefperioddi-
rectlyafterlockingit.Thiswayyouhavethe op-
portunitytocheckifthedoorslockedcorrectly.
ThesettingsintheInfotainmentsystemdeter-
mineiftheentirevehicleoronlyoneofthedoors
isunlockedwhenunlockingthevehicle

—Topreventthevehiclebatteryfromdis-
charging,theenergymanagementgradual-
lyswitchesoffconveniencefunctionsthat
arenotneeded.Youthenmaynolongerbe
