Malfunctions

Ifthetirepressuremonitoringsystemisnot
available,theiaindicatorlightappearsinthe
instrumentclusterdisplayalongwiththemes-
sageTirepressure:malfunction!Seeowner's
manual.
Iftheiaindicatorlightappearsafterswitching
theignitiononorwhiledrivingandthe@indi-
catorlightalsoblinksforapproximatelyonemi-
nuteandthenstayson,thereissystemmalfunc-
tion.Thefollowingareexamplesofsituations
thatcouldcauseamalfunction:
—Ifthemessageappearsattheendoftheadap-
tationphase,thesystemmaynotdetectoneor
several ofthewheelsensorsnecessaryforpres-
suremonitoring.Thismayresultfrom oneor
morewheelswithoutwheelsensorsorwithin-
compatiblewheelsensorsbeinginstalled.
—Awheelsensororanothercomponenthas
failed.
—Usingsnowchainscanaffectthefunctionof
thesystembecauseoftheshieldingeffectof
thechains.
—Thetirepressuremonitoringsystemisnot
availableduetoamalfunction.
—Transmitters withthesamefrequency,suchas
headphonesorremote-controlleddevices,may
causeatemporarysystemmalfunctiondueto

fromanauthorizedAudidealerorauthorizedAu-
diServiceFacility.Readandfollowtheinstruc-
tionsforuseonthepackaging.

Carwashes
Thelongerthatdepositsremain onthevehicle,

Beforewashing,rinseoffheavydepositswith
plentyofwater.
Stubborndepositssuchasbirddroppingsortree
saparebestremovedwithplentyofwateranda
microfibercloth.
Also,washtheundersideofyourvehicleonce
roadsaltstopsbeingusedfortheseason.
Pressurewashers
Whenwashingyourvehiclewithapressurewash-
er,alwaysfollowthe operatinginstructions pro-
videdwiththepressurewasher.Thisisespecially
importantinregardtothepressureandspraying
distance.Donotdirectthestreamofwaterdi-
rectlyontosealsforthesidewindows,doors,lug-

gagecompartmentlidorhoodorontothetires,
rubberhoses,insulatingmaterial,sensors*or
cameralenses*.Keepadistanceofatleast16in
(40cm).
Donotremovesnowandicewithapressure
washer.
Neveruseconenozzlesorhighpressurenozzles.
Thewatertemperaturemustnotbeabove140°F
(60°C).
Automaticcarwash
Sprayoffthevehiclebeforewashing.
Makesurethatthewindowsareclosedandthe
windshieldwipersareoff.Followinstructions
fromthecarwashoperator,especiallyifthereare

Ifpossible,usecarwashesthatdonothave
brushes.
Washingbyhand
Cleanthevehiclestartingfromthetopandwork-
ingdownwardusingasoftspongeorcleaning
brush.Usesolvent-freecleaningproducts.
Washingvehicleswithmattefinishpaintby
hand
To reducetheriskofdamagingthepaintwhen
washing,firstremovedustandlargeparticles
fromyourvehicle.Insects,greasespots,andfin-
gerprintsarebestremovedwithaspecialcleaner
formattefinishpaint.
Applytheproductusingamicrofibercloth.Tore-
ducetheriskofdamagingthepaintsurface,do
notuse toomuchpressure.
Rinsethevehiclethoroughlywithwater.Then
cleanusinganeutralshampooandasoftmicro-
