Theairsuspensionisanelectronically-controlled
suspensionandlevelingsystem.Thefirmnessof
thesuspensionwilladapttothedrivingcondi-
tionsandthedrivingsituation.Thesystembalan-
cesoutchangesinload.Thevehiclelevelwillalso
adaptgraduallytothevehiclespeedinorderto
reducethewindresistanceathighspeedsandin-
creasethegroundclearanceatlowspeeds.The
settingsdependontheselectedAudidrivese-
lect*mode.
Suspensioncontrol*
Thesuspensioncontrol”usessensorsto record
informationregardingsteeringmovements,
brakingandaccelerationoperationsbythedriver,
roadsurface,drivingspeed,andload.Thismakes
itpossibletoadaptdampingtothedrivingsitua-
tionnearlyinrealtime.Withdriveselect,youcan
adjustthesuspensioncontrol tosporty(Dynam-
ic),comfortable(Comfort)orbalanced(Auto).
Steering
Thepowersteeringadapts.Indirectsteeringthat
moveseasilyasinComfortmodeisespecially
suitedtolongdrivesonhighways.TheDynamic
modeprovidessporty,directsteering.
Thefollowingapplies tovehicleswithdynamic
steering*:thesteeringratiochangesbasedonve-
hiclespeedinordertomaintainoptimumsteer-
ingeffort forthedriveratalltimes.This setsthe
steering tobelesssensitiveathigherspeedsin
ordertoprovideimprovedvehiclecontrol.Atre-
ducedspeeds,steeringismoredirectinorderto
keepthesteeringeffortasminimalaspossible
whenthe driverismaneuveringthevehicle.At
lowandaveragespeeds,dynamicsteering*addi-
tionallyprovidesmoreresponsivesteeringper-
formance.

Dependingonthesetting,thedrivepoweratthe
rearaxlewillbedistributedwiththesportdiffer-
ential*tobemoresportyormoderate.
Adaptivecruisecontrol(ACC)*
Thebehaviorwhenacceleratingcanbeadjusted
fromcomfortabletosporty,dependingonthe
driveselectmode.Adaptivecruisecontrolalso
respondstothedrivingbehaviorofthevehicle
aheadinamoreconservativeorsportymanner.

Whentransportingthevehicleonacarcar-
rier,train,ship,orbyothermeans,onlyse-
curethevehicleattheoutercircumference
ofthetires(thetreadsurface).Securingthe
vehicleattheaxlecomponents,suspension
struts,ortowingeyesisnotpermittedbe-
causethepressureintheairsuspension
strutscanchangeduringtransport.Theve-
hiclemightnot besecuredsufficientlyifthis
happens.
—Whentransportingthevehicleonaroad
carrier,railcarrier,shipcarrier,orothercar-
rier,itmayonlybesecuredatthe running
surfacesofthetires(circumference).Secur-
ingthevehicleattheaxlecomponents,sus-
pensionstruts,ortowingeyesisnotpermit-
tedbecausethepressureintheairsuspen-
sionstrutscanchangeduringtransport.The
vehiclemightnotbesecuredsufficientlyif
thishappens.

Tirepressuremonitoring
system

Eachtire,includingthespare(ifprovided),
should becheckedmonthlywhencoldandinflat-
edtotheinflationpressurerecommendedbythe
vehiclemanufactureronthevehicleplacardor
tireinflationpressurelabel.(Ifyourvehiclehas
tiresofadifferentsizethanthesizeindicatedon
thevehicleplacardortireinflation pressurela-
bel,youshoulddeterminethepropertireinfla-
tionpressureforthosetires).
Asanaddedsafetyfeature,yourvehiclehasbeen
equippedwithatirepressuremonitoringsystem
(TPMS)thatilluminatesaLowtirepressuretell-
talewhenoneormoreofyourtiresissignificant-
lyunder-inflated.Accordingly,whenthelowtire
pressuretelltaleilluminates,youshouldstopand
checkyourtiresassoonaspossible,andinflate
themtotheproperpressure.Drivingonasignifi-
cantlyunder-inflatedtirecausesthetiretoover-
heatandcanleadtotirefailure.Under-inflation
alsoreducesfuelefficiencyandtiretreadlife,
andmayaffectthevehicle'shandlingandstop-
pingability.
PleasenotethattheTPMSisnotasubstitutefor
propertiremaintenance,anditisthedriver'sre-
sponsibilitytomaintaincorrecttirepressure,
evenifunder-inflationhasnotreachedthelevel
totriggerillumination oftheTPMSlowtirepres-
suretelltale.
YourvehiclehasalsobeenequippedwithaTPMS
malfunctionindicatortoindicatewhenthesys-
temisnotoperatingproperly.TheTPMSmal-
functionindicatoriscombinedwiththelowtire
pressuretelltale.Whenthesystemdetectsa
malfunction,thetelltalewillflashforapproxi-
matelyone minuteandthenremaincontinuously
illuminated.Thissequencewillcontinueupon
subsequentvehiclestart-upsaslongasthe mal-
functionexists.
Whenthemalfunctionindicatorisilluminated,
thesystemmaynotbeabletodetectorsignal
lowtirepressureasintended.TPMSmalfunctions
mayoccurforavarietyofreasons,includingthe
installationofreplacementoralternatetiresor
wheelsonthevehiclethatpreventtheTPMS
fromfunctioningproperly.Alwayscheck the
TPMSmalfunctiontelltaleafterreplacingoneor
moretiresorwheelsonyourvehicletoensure
thatthereplacementoralternatetiresand
wheelsallowtheTPMStocontinuetofunction
properly.
