WARNING
■Caution regarding interfer ence with electronic devices
● People with implantable cardiac pacemakers, cardiac resynchroni zation
therapy-pacemakers or implantable cardioverter defibrillators s hould main-
tain a reasonable distance between themselves and the wireless charger.
The radio waves may affect the operation of such devices.
● Before using the wireless charger, users of any electrical medi cal device
other than implantable cardiac pacemakers, cardiac resynchroniz ation
therapy-pacemakers or implantable cardioverter defibrillators should con-
sult the manufacturer of the device for information about its o peration
under the influence of radio waves. Radio waves could have unex pected
effects on the operation of such medical devices.
● To avoid interference with other electrical devices, turn the w ireless char-
ger off by turning off the wireless charger switch.
■ To prevent damage or fire
Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may result in the possibility of equipment failure or damage,
vehicle fire, burns due to heat, or even electrical shock.
● Do not put any metallic objects between the charging area and t he porta-
ble device.
● Do not place anything but a device to be charged on the wireles s charger.
It is not designed for use as an auxiliary box.
● Do not apply force or impact to the wireless charger.
● Do not disassemble or modify the wireless charger.
● Do not attempt to charge portable devices which are not compati ble with
the Qi wireless charging standard.
● Do not bring magnetized objects close to the wireless charger.
● Do not perform charging if the charging area is dusty.
● Keep foreign objects away from the wireless charger, and do not spill liquid
on the wireless charger.
● Do not cover the wireless charger with a cloth or other object while
charging.
● Do not attach metallic objects, such as aluminum stickers, to the charging
area.

in or out of the vehicle and others.
An assist grip (type B) installed on the ceiling can be used to support
your body while si tting on the seat.

Do not adjust the display. Adjust the display only when the veh icle is

■ When doing the circling calibration
Secure a wide space, and watch out for people and vehicles in t he vicinity.
Do not violate any local traffic rules while performing circlin g calibration.
NOTICE
■To avoid the compass malfunctions
Do not place magnets or any metal objects near the inside rear view mirror.
Doing this may cause a malfunction of the compass sensor.
■ To ensure normal operation of the compass
● Do not perform circling calibration of the compass in a place w here the
earth’s magnetic field is subject to interference by artificial magnetic fields.
● During calibration, do not operate electric systems (moon roof, power win-
dows, etc.) as they may interfere with the calibration.

■Aluminum wheels (if equipped)
●Remove any dirt immediately by using a neutral detergent.
● Wash detergent off with water immediately after use.
● To protect the paint from damage, make sure to observe the following pre-
cautions.
• Do not use acidic, alkaline or abrasive detergent
• Do not use hard brushes
• Do not use detergent on the wheels when they are hot, such as after driv-
ing or parking in hot weather
■ Bumpers and side moldings
Do not scrub with abrasive cleaners.
WARNING
■When washing the vehicle
Do not apply water to the inside of the engine compartment. Doing so may
cause the electrical components, etc., to catch fire.
■ Precautions regarding the exhaust pipe
Exhaust gases cause the exhaust pipe to become quite hot.
When washing the vehicle, be careful not to touch the pipe unti l it has
cooled sufficiently, as touching hot exhaust pipe can cause bur ns.

Maintenance and care
■Caring for leather areas
Toyota recommends cleaning the interior of the vehicle at least twice a year to
maintain the quality of the vehicle’s interior.
■ Shampooing the carpets
There are several commercial foaming-type cleaners available. U se a sponge
or brush to apply the foam. Rub in overlapping circles. Do not use water.
Wipe dirty surfaces and let them dry. Excellent results are obt ained by keep-
ing the carpet as dry as possible.
■ Seat belts
Clean with mild soap and lukewarm water using a cloth or sponge . Also
check the belts periodically for excessive wear, fraying or cut s.
WARNING
■Water in the vehicle
● Do not splash or spill liquid in the vehicle.
Doing so may cause electrical components, etc., to malfunction or catch
fire.
● Do not get any of the SRS components or wiring in the vehicle i nterior wet.

An electrical malfunction may cause the airbags to deploy or no t function
properly, resulting in death or serious injury.
■ Cleaning the interior (esp ecially instrument panel)
Do not use a polish wax or polish cleaner. The instrument panel may reflect
off the windshield, obstructing the driver’s view and leading t o an accident,
resulting in death or serious injury.

■Resetting the message indicating ma intenance is required (U.S.A. only)
After the required maintenance is performed according to the ma intenance
schedule, please reset the message.
To reset the message, follow the procedure described below:
Press “<” or “>” of meter control switches and select on the m ulti-infor-
mation display.
Press “
” or “” of meter control switches and select “Settings”, and then
press .
Press “
” or “” of meter control switches and select “Maintenance Reset”,
and then press .
Select the “YES” and press .
■ Allow inspection and repairs to b e performed by a Toyota dealer
● Toyota technicians are well-trained specialists and are kept up to date with
the latest service information. They are well informed about th e operations
of all systems on your vehicle.
● Keep a copy of the repair order. It proves that the maintenance that has
been performed is under warranty coverage. If any problem should arise
while your vehicle is under warranty, your Toyota dealer will p romptly take
care of it.

■ If your vehicle is no t properly maintained
Improper maintenance could result in serious damage to the vehi cle and
possible death or serious injury.
■ Handling of the battery
● Engine exhaust, some of its constituents, and a wide variety of automobile
components contain or emit chemicals known to the State of California to
cause cancer and birth defects and other reproductive harm. Wor k in a
well ventilated area.
● Oils, fuels and fluids contained in vehicles as well as waste p roduced by
component wear contain or emit chemicals known to the State of Califor-
nia to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive har m. Avoid
exposure and wash any affected area immediately.
● Battery posts, terminals and related accessories contain lead a nd lead
compounds which are known to cause brain damage. Wash your hand s
