In STOP mode of Stop & Start, the
transition to START mode has been
rejected because the clutch pedal is
not fully pressed down. With a manual gearbox, you must depress the clutch
pedal fully to allow the change to engine START
mode.
Foot on the
brake Fixed.
With an automatic gearbox, you have
forgotten to press the brake pedal to
move out of position P.With the engine running, before releasing the parking
brake you must press the brake pedal to unlock the
automatic gear selector lever and move out of the
position P
.

Starting/switching off the
engine
Anti-theft protection
Electronic immobiliser
The key contains an electronic chip which has
a secret code. When the ignition is switched
on, this code must be recognised to enable
engine start.
This electronic engine immobiliser locks the
engine management system a moment after
the ignition is switched off, and prevents
unauthorised engine starting.In the event of a fault, you are
informed by illumination of this
warning lamp, an audible signal and
a message in the screen.
In this case, your vehicle will not start; contact
a PEUGEOT dealer as soon as possible.
Key ignition switch
Ignition on position
It allows the use of the vehicle's electric
equipment or portable devices to be charged.
Once the state of charge of the battery drops
to the reser ve level, the system switches to
energy economy mode: the power supply is
cut off automatically to preser ve the remaining
battery charge. Avoid attaching heavy objects to the key
or the remote control, which would weigh
down on its blade in the ignition switch
and could cause a malfunction.
Starting the engine
The parking brake must be applied.

ith a manual gearbox, place the gear lever
in neutral then depress the clutch pedal
fully.

ith an automatic gearbox, select position
P, then firmly press the brake pedal.

nsert the key into the ignition switch; the
system recognises the code.

nlock the steering column by
simultaneously turning the steering wheel
and the key.
In certain cases, you may have to turn the
steering wheel with some force to move
the wheels (for example if the wheels are
turned against a kerb).
It has 3 positions:

position 1 (Stop): to insert and remove the
key, steering column locked,

position 2 (Ignition on) : steering column
unlocked, ignition on, Diesel preheating,
engine running,

Manual gearbox
Engaging reverse gear
F Fully depress the clutch pedal.As a safety precaution and to facilitate
starting the engine:

Only engage reverse gear when the
vehicle is stationary with the engine at
idle.
Automatic gearbox (EAT6)
Six-speed automatic gearbox which offers a
choice between the comfort of fully automatic
operation, enhanced by sport and snow
programmes, or manual gear changing.
Two driving modes are available:

utomatic operation for electronic control
of the gears by the gearbox, with a spor t
programme for a more dynamic style of
driving and a snow programme to improve
driving when traction is poor,

Operation
Going into engine STOP mode
For your convenience during parking
manoeuvres, STOP mode is not available
for a few seconds after coming out of
reverse gear.
The Stop & Start does not affect the
functionality of the vehicle, such as for
example, braking, power steering, etc.
A slight delay between the vehicle
stopping and the engine cutting out may
be noticed.
Never refuel with the engine in STOP
mode; you must switch off the ignition with
the button.
With a manual gearbox, when vehicle
speed is below 12 mph (20 km/h) or
the vehicle is stationary (depending
on engine), the Stop & Start warning
lamp comes on in the instrument panel
and the engine goes into standby
automatically when you place the gear
lever in neutral and you release the
clutch pedal.
Special cases: STOP mode not
available
STOP mode is not activated when:
- T he driver's door is open.

T
he driver's seat belt is not fastened.
-

T
he engine is needed to maintain a
comfortable temperature in the passenger
compartment.

D

emisting/defrosting is active.
-

C
ertain special conditions (battery charge,
engine temperature, braking assistance,
exterior temperature, etc.) make it
necessary to ensure control of a system or
the vehicle.
The Stop & Start warning lamp
flashes for a few seconds, then goes

This operation is perfectly normal.
Going into engine START mode
With a manual gearbox , the Stop
& Start warning lamp goes off on
the instrument panel and the engine
restarts automatically when you
press the clutch pedal fully down to
t h e f l o o r.
Special cases: START mode
activated automatically
As a safety measure or to maintain comfort
levels in the vehicle, START mode is activated
automatically when:

ou open the driver's door.

ou unfasten the driver's seat belt.

T
he speed of the vehicle exceeds 2 mph

Deactivation/Manual
reactivation
In certain cases, such as the need to maintain
a comfortable temperature in the passenger
compartment, it may be useful to deactivate the
Stop & Start system.
The system can be deactivated at any time,
once the ignition is switched on.

On a steep descent or in the event of
sharp acceleration, the speed limiter will
not be able to prevent the vehicle from
exceeding the programmed speed.
To avoid any risk of jamming the pedals:

System which automatically
maintains the speed of the vehicle
at the value programmed by the
driver, without any action on the
accelerator pedal.
The cruise control is switched on manually: it
requires a minimum vehicle speed of 25
mph

In addition, it requires the engagement of:

ourth gear on a manual gearbox.

S

econd gear on an automatic gearbox, in
sequential mode.

Position D with an automatic gearbox.
Cruise control is switched off manually or
by pressing the brake or clutch pedal or on
triggering of the trajectory control systems for
safety reasons.
It is possible to exceed the programmed speed
temporarily by depressing the accelerator
pedal.
To return to the programmed speed, simply
release the accelerator pedal.
Switching off the ignition cancels any
programmed speed setting. Cruise control cannot, in any
circumstances, replace the need to
respect speed limits, nor can it replace the
need for vigilance on the part of the driver.
