re placement of your vehicle or a refund of the
pur chase price or lease price, if af ter a reasona‐
ble number of repair attem pts Mercedes-Benz
US A,LLC and/or its authorized repair or service
fa cilities failto fix one or more subs tantial
de fects or malfunctions in theve hicle that are
co veredby its express warrant y.
During a pe riod of 18months from original deliv‐
ery of theve hicle or a kilome ter/mileage read‐
ing of 18,000 miles (29,000 km), whiche ver
occurs firs t, ve hicle repair is presumed for a
re tail buyer or lessee if one or more of thefo l‐
lowing occurs:
(1) the serious defect or damage can result in
deadly or serious injury totheve hicle occu‐
pants while driving AND this defect has
already been repaired at least twice AND
Mercedes‑Benz, LLC has been informed in
writing of the necessity of a repair.
(2) the defect or damage, though less serious
th an (1) abo ve, has already been repaired at least
four times AND Mercedes‑Benz has
been informed in writing of the necessity of
a re pair.
(3) theve hicle cannot be used for longer than
30 calendar da ysbecause of repair work
re sulting from this or other serious defects
or damage.

twigs may ignite if they come into contact
wi th hot parts of theex haust sy stem.

In thefo llowing situations, in particular, there
is a risk of damage totheve hicle:
RThe vehicle becomes grounded, e.g. on a
high curb or an unpa vedro ad.
RThe vehicle is driven toofast over an
obs tacle, e.g. a curb, speed bump or pot‐
hole.
RA heavy object strike sth e underbody or
ch assis components.
In situations such as this, the body, the
underbody, chassis components, wheels or
tires could be damaged without the damage
being visible. Components damaged in this
wa ycan unexpec tedly fail or, in the case of
an accident, may not absorb the loads that
arise as intended.
If th e underbody paneling is damaged, flam‐
mable materials such as lea ves, grass or
twigs can collect between the underbody and
th e underbody paneling. These materials may
ignite if they come into contact wi thhot
parts on theex haust sy stem.
