In situations such as this, the body, the
underbody, chassis components, wheels or
tyres could be damaged without the damage
being visible. Components damaged in this wa
y can unexpec tedly fail or, in the case of
an accident, may not absorb the loads that
arise as intended.
If th e underbody panelling is damaged, flam‐
mable materials such as lea ves, grass or
twigs can collect between the underbody and
th e underbody panelling. These materials
may ignite if they come into contact wi thhot
parts on theex haust sy stem. #

seat and thePA SSENGER AIR BAG OFF indi‐
cator lamp is off, the front passenger airbag
can deploy in theev ent of an accident.
The child could be stru ck bythe airbag.
Alw ays ensure that the front passenger air‐
bag is disabled. The PASSENGER AIR BAG
OFF indicator lamp must be lit.

Driving on sand
When driving on sand, also obser vethefo llowing

R Drive quickly to overcome thero lling resist‐
ance, otherwise theve hicle may dig itself in.
R Drive in the trac ksofother vehicles if possi‐
ble. Make sure that thefo llowing prerequi‐
sites are me t:
- the tyre ruts are not too deep
- the sand is firm enough
- the ground clearance is suf ficient
R Lowe rth e tyre pressure in all four wheels. Contrary
tothe information on the tyre pres‐
sure plate (fuel filler flap), you can lo werthe
tyre pressu reto120 kPa (1.2 bar/1 7.4 psi).
Mercedes-AMG vehicles: observeth e no tes in
th e Supplement. Otherwise, you may failto rec‐
ognise dangers.
% Once youstop driving on sand, immediately
increase the tyre pressure again.
Information on there commended tyre pres‐
su re forth eve hicle's factor y-fitted tyres can
be found on the tyre pressure table on the
inside of the fuel filler flap (/ page410).
