Blocked Sensors
If a message regarding a blocked sensor orcamera appears in the information display, the radar signals or camera images areobstructed. The radar sensor is locatedbehind a fascia cover near the passengerside of the lower grille. With an obstructedradar, the Pre-Collision Assist system doesnot function and cannot detect a vehicleahead. With the front camera obstructed, thePre-Collision Assist system does not respondto pedestrians or stationary vehicles and thesystem performance on moving vehiclesreduces. The following table lists possiblecauses and actions for when this messagedisplays.
ActionCause
Clean the grille surface in front of the radar or remove the objectcausing the obstruction. The surface of the radar in the grille is dirty or obstructed in someway.
Wait a short time. It may take several minutes for the radar to detectthat there is no obstruction. The surface of the radar in the grille is clean but the message remainsin the display.
The Pre-Collision Assist system is temporarily disabled. Pre-CollisionAssist should automatically reactivate a short time after the weatherconditions improve.Heavy rain, spray, snow, or fog is interfering with the radar signals.

Step 4: Take Measurements
After you correctly place the sticker on thetrailer, you must take some keymeasurements.
Note:You must take accuratemeasurements for the system to operateproperly.
Note:When rounding in inches, roundupward if the measured length is a quarterinch or greater. Round downward if themeasured length is less than a quarter inch. For example 12.25 in (31.11 cm) would berounded up to 12.50 in (31.75 cm). 12.13 in(30.8 cm) would be rounded down to 12.00 in(30.48 cm).
Note:When rounding in centimeters, roundto the nearest whole centimeter. If themeasurement is less than 0.2 in (0.5 cm)round downward. If the measurement ismore than or equal to 0.2 in (0.5 cm) roundupward. For example, 11.9 in (30.3 cm) wouldbe rounded down to 11.8 in (30 cm). 12.0 in(30.5 cm) would be rounded up to 12.2 in(31 cm).
Note:Use consistent metric or imperial unitsas required by your country or vehicle.
Record the four key distances (A, B, C, D) asrequired by the measurement card. Recordthe trailer name for these measurements.Distance A
The horizontal distance from the bumper tothe center of the ball hitch on the trailer.
Distance B
The horizontal distance from the center ofthe ball hitch to the center of the sticker.

either too far below or too close to thecamera to properly recognize the sticker. In order for the system to operatecorrectly the sticker height must belowered if you receive the minimumwarning or the sticker height must beraised if you receive the maximumwarning.
•Only one sticker can be placed on thetrailer for correct system function. Theprevious sticker must be removed orcovered so only one sticker is visible tothe camera.
•Measurement B and C must be measuredagain if a new sticker is placed on thetrailer.
Measurement D has reached maximum orminimum value:
•Make sure that the measurement beingmade is the horizontal distance only fromthe bumper to the center of the singleaxle or the center of all the axles on thetrailer. See step 4 of the setup foradditional measurement instructions. TheTBA system does not support trailerlengths outside the range allowed by theinformation display.
System is circling something beside thesticker or system cannot find the sticker:
•Make sure the rear camera is clean andthe sticker is clearly visible in the cameraimage. Clean the camera and sticker ifnecessary.
•The camera system uses the enteredmeasurements to help locate the sticker.Inaccurate sticker measurements willdegrade the system’s ability to locate thesticker. Verify the measurements enteredinto the system are accurate.
•Remove the incorrectly circled label ordecal if possible.
•If you cannot resolve the issue a newsticker location should be tried. Thesticker location must still meet therequirements noted in step 3 of the setupinstructions. Only one sticker can beplaced on the trailer for correct systemfunction. The previous sticker must beremoved or covered so only one stickeris visible to the camera.
Calibration
The system monitors various vehicleparameters to ensure your vehicle is beingdriven straight and the trailer straight behindyour vehicle. Any steering input or trailermovement will pause the calibration.
For best results:
•Use a long, straight, smooth and levelroad when attempting to calibrate.

Towing
The system is not available:
•The system relies on many sub-systemsin your vehicle to operate correctly. Ifthose sub-systems are not operatingcorrectly the system may not beavailable.
•Low battery voltage is a condition whichwill prevent the system from operating. Please make sure the battery is correctlycharged if the system is not available.
•You may need to drive your vehiclestraight forward above 25 mph (40 km/h)before the system is available again.
•If the message still displays take yourvehicle to an authorized dealer forservice.
Sticker lost:
•If the system cannot initially find thesticker, it may be necessary for you tochange the lighting conditions by movingthe vehicle and trailer or waiting untilconditions change.
•Check for the following if you receive thelost sticker message while using thesystem.
•Stop your vehicle as soon as themessage displays.
•Make sure the sticker is visible and thepattern is discernable in the rear viewcamera image.
•Clean the sticker and camera to makesure they are unobstructed.
•Clean the lens with a soft, lint-free clothand water.
•Clean the sticker with isopropyl rubbingalcohol sprayed directly onto the sticker, and then wipe clean with a soft cloth.
•Remove any items that may be blockingthe view of the sticker. Depending onyour trailer configuration and anyequipment mounted to your trailer it ispossible for the sticker to be blockedfrom view of the camera as it rotates onthe hitch ball but not be blocked duringsetup. Remove the obstruction ifpossible. It will be necessary to removethe sticker from it’s current location if theobstruction cannot be cleared and placea new sticker that will be visible to thecamera in all positions of the trailerbehind your vehicle.
•Placing the sticker on a surface angledaway from the vehicle reducesperformance. Use a drawbar thatpositions the trailer level to the groundwhen attached to vehicle. This typicallyprovides a level surface to mount thesticker. Place the sticker on a bracket orother object when no level surface isavailable.
•Make sure the entire sticker is on a flatsurface that is completely visible to thecamera. Do not fold the sticker over anedge on the trailer frame. This candegrade performance.
•Shadows on the sticker may effecttracking performance under somelighting conditions. Moving the sticker toanother location within the allowedplacement area may improveperformance. Use the change stickeroption in your Towing menu if you movethe sticker.
