■If the tire pressure warning light frequently comes on after blinking for 1 minute
If the tire pressure warning lig ht frequently comes on after blinking for 1 minute when the engine switch is turned to IGNITION ON mode , have it
checked by any authorized Lexus retailer or Lexus authorized repairer, or any reliable repairer.
■Warning buzzer
In some cases, the buzzer may not be heard due to being in a noisy location or audio sound.

■If both the ABS and the brake system warning lights remain on
Stop your vehicle in a safe place immediately and contact any authorized Lexus retailer
or Lexus authorized repairer, or any reliabl e repairer. The vehicle will become extremely unstable during braking, and the ABS system may fail, which could cause an accident resulting in death or serious injury.
■When the electric power steering system warning light comes on
When the light comes on yellow, the assist to the power steering is restricted. When the
light comes on red, the assist to the power st eering is lost and handling operations of the steering wheel become extremely heavy. When steering wheel operations are heavier than usual, grip the steering wheel firmly and operate it using more force than usual.
■If the tire pressure warning light comes on
Be sure to observe the following precautions. Failure to do so could cause a loss of vehi-
cle control and result in death or serious injury.
●Decelerate to the lowest appropriate speed as soon as possible. Do not drive over 80 km/h (50 mph).
●Check and adjust the tire inflation pressure immediately.
●If the tire pressure warning light comes on ev en after tire inflation pressure adjustment, it is probable that you have a flat tire. Have the flat tire replaced by nearest authorized
Lexus retailer or Lexus authorized repairer, or any reliable repairer.
●Avoid abrupt maneuvering and braking. If the vehicle tires deteriorate, you could lose control of the steering wheel or the brakes.
■If a blowout or sudden air leakage should occur
The tire pressure warning system may not activate immediately.

When trouble arises
The warning lights and warning buzzers operate as follows depending on the con-
tent of the message. If a message indicates the need for inspection by a dealer, have
the vehicle inspected by any authorized Lexus retailer or Lexus authorized
repairer, or any reliable repairer immediately.
*: A buzzer sounds the first time a message is shown on the multi-information display.
■Warning messages
The warning messages explained below may differ from the actual messages according to operation conditions and vehicle specifications.
■System warning lights
The master warning light does not come on or flash in the following cases. Instead, a sepa- rate system warning light will come on along with a message or image shown on the multi-
information display.

(LC500h)
The remaining charge for the hybrid battery (tr action battery) is low. As the hybrid battery
(traction battery) cannot be charged when the sh ift position is in N, when stopping the vehi- cle for a long period of time, shift the shift position to P.
■If “Traction Battery needs to be Protected Shift into P to Restart” is shown (LC500h)
The remaining charge for the hybrid battery (tr action battery) is low, because the shift posi- tion has been shifted to N for a long period of time. When moving the vehicle, shift the shift position to P and restart the hybrid system.
■If “Shift to P Before Exiting Vehicle” is shown
The driver’s door is opened without turning the engine switch to off with the
shift position in any position other than P. Shift the shift position to P.
■If “Shift Is in N Release Accele rator Before Shifting” is shown
The accelerator pedal has been depressed when the shift position is in N. Release the accel-
erator pedal and shift the shift position to D or R.
■If “Depress Brake when Vehicle Is Stoppe d Hybrid System May Overheat” is shown (LC500h)
The message may be displayed when the accelerator pedal is depressed to hold the vehicle while the vehicle is stopped on an uphill etc. The hybrid system may overheat. Release the accelerator pedal and depress the brake pedal.
■If “Shift system malfunction Driving unavailable” is shown
There is a malfunction in the shift control system. Have the vehicle inspected by any autho- rized Lexus retailer or Lexus authorized repa irer, or any reliable repairer immediately.
■If “Auto Power Off to Conserve Battery” is shown
LC500: Power was turned off due to the automatic power off function. Next time when starting the
engine, increase the engine speed slightly an d maintain that level for approximately 5 min- utes to recharge the 12-volt battery.

Take your vehicle to the nearest autho-
rized Lexus retailer or Lexus autho-
rized repairer, or any reliable repairer,
or authorized tire dealer as soon as
possible if any tire goes flat.
The vehicle can be driven for a maximum
of 160 km (100 miles) at a speed below 80
km/h (50 mph) after the tire pressure
warning light comes on. ( P.374)
A run-flat tire has a mark on the
side wall.
■In some condition (such as at high tem-
peratures)
You cannot continue driving for up to 160 km (100 miles).

If you have a flat tire
Your vehicle is not equipped with a
spare tire, but instead you can con-
tinue driving the vehicle with run-
flat tires even if any tire goes flat.

When removing or fitting the wheels, tires or the tire pressure warning valve and transmitter, contact any authorized
Lexus retailer or Lexus authorized repairer, or any reliable repairer as the tire pressure warning valve and transmit-
ter may be damaged if not handled cor- rectly.
■When driving over bumps
If a vehicle has a flat tire, the vehicle height will be lower than usual. Ensure
that nothing strikes the bottom of the vehicle.
■To avoid damaging the tire pressure warning valves and transmitters
When a tire is repaired with liquid seal-
ants, the tire pressure warning valve and transmitter may not operate properly. If a liquid sealant is used, contact any autho-
rized Lexus retailer or Lexus authorized repairer, or any reliable repairer or other qualified service shop as soon as possi-
ble. Make sure to replace the tire pres- sure warning valve and transmitter when replacing the tire. ( P.335)

repairer if the problem cannot be repaired,
or if repair procedures are unknown.
When the hybrid system does not start,
the following steps can be used as an
interim measure to start the hybrid sys-
tem if the power switch is functioning
normally. Do not use this starting pro-
cedure except in cases of emergency.
1 Press the parking brake switch to
check that the parking brake is set.

2Turn the power switch to ACCES-
SORY mode.
3 Press and hold the power switch for
about 15 seconds while depressing
the brake pedal firmly.
Even if the hybrid system can be

5 Start the engine of the second vehi-
cle. Increase the engine speed
slightly and maintain at that level for
approximately 5 minutes to
recharge the 12-volt battery of your
vehicle.
6 Open and close any of the door of
your vehicle with the engine switch
off.
7 Maintain the engine speed of the
second vehicle and start the engine
of your vehicle by
turning the engine switch switch> to IGNITION ON mode
.
8 Once the vehicle’s engine system> has started, remove the
jumper cables in the exact reverse
order from which they were con-
nected.
9 Close the exclusive jump starting
terminal cover, and reinstall the fuse
box cover to tits original position.
Once the engine starts, have the vehicle inspected at any autho-rized Lexus retailer or Lexus authorized
repairer, or any reliable repairer as soon as possible.
■Starting the engine when the 12-volt battery is discharged
The engine cannot be started by push-starting.
