1To set the visor in the forward posi-
tion, flip it down.
2 To set the visor in the side position,
flip down, unhook, and swing it to
the side.
Open the cover.
The light turns on when the cover is
opened.
The GPS clock’s time is automatically
adjusted by utilizing GPS time infor-
mation.
For details, refer to the “NAVIGA-
TION SYSTEM OWNER’S MAN-
UAL”.
Please use as a power supply for elec-
tronic goods that use less than 12
VDC/10 A (power consumption of
120 W).

■Automatic Collision Notification
If any airbag deploys, the system is
designed to automatically call the Pub-
lic Safety Answering Point (PSAP)*.
The responding agent receives the
vehicle’s location and attempts to
speak with the vehicle occupants to
assess the level of emergency. If the
occupants are unable to communicate,
the agent automatically treats the call
as an emergency, contacts the nearest
emergency services provider to
describe the situation, and requests
that assistance be sent to the location.
*: In some cases, the call cannot be made.

■Emergency Assistance Button
(“SOS”)
In the event of an emergency, push the
“SOS” button to reach the Public
Safety Answering Point (PSAP). The
answering agent will determine your
vehicle’s location, assess the emer-
gency, and dispatch the necessary
assistance required.
If you accidentally press the “SOS” button,
tell the agent that you are not experiencing
an emergency.
When the engine switch switch> is turned IGNITION ON
mode , the red indicator
light will illuminate for 10 seconds and
then the green indicator light will illumi-
nate for 2 seconds, indicating that the
system is enabled. The indicator lights
indicate the following:
 If the green indicator light illumi-
nates and stays on, the system is
ERA-GLONASS*
ERA-GLONASS is a telematics
service that uses Global Naviga-
tion Satellite System (GLONASS)
data and embedded cellular tech-
nology to enable the following
emergency calls to be made: Auto-
matic emergency calls (Automatic
Collision Notification) and manual
emergency calls (by pressing the
“SOS” button). This service is
required by Eurasian Customs
Union Regulations.

 If the green indicator light flashes, an
emergency call is being made
(either automatically or manually).
 If no indicator lights illuminate, the
system is not enabled.
 If the red indicator light illuminates
any time other than immediately
after the engine switch switch> is turned IGNITION ON
mode , the system may
be malfunctioning or the backup
battery may be depleted. Contact
any authorized Lexus retailer or
Lexus authorized repairer, or any
reliable repairer.
The service life of the backup battery is 3
years or more.
WARNING
■When the Emergency Call may not be made
●Any of the followings may occur. In such cases, report to the Public Safety
Answering Point (PSAP) by other means such as nearby public phones.
• It may sometimes be difficult to con- nect to the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) even in the reception
area of the cellular phone due to the reception level, or if the line is busy.In such cases, you may not be able to
connect to the Public Safety Answer- ing Point (PSAP) and thus will not be able to make emergency calls and
report to the emergency departments even though the system tries to con-nect to the Public Safety Answering
Point (PSAP).
• When the vehicle is out of the cellular
phone service area, the Emergency Call cannot be made.
• When any related equipment (such as the “SOS” button panel, indicator lights, microphone, speaker, DCM,
antenna, or any wires connecting the equipment.) has an abnormality, is damaged or broken, the Emergency
Call cannot be made.
• During the Emergency Call, the sys-
tem makes repeated attempts to con- nect to the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP). However, if it cannot
connect to the Public Safety Answer- ing Point (PSAP) due to poor radio wave reception, the system may not be
able to connect to the cellular network and the call may finish without con-necting. The red indicator light will
blink for approximately 30 seconds to indicate this disconnection.
• This device may not function if a shock is applied to it.

Working from top to bottom, liber-
ally apply water to the vehicle body,
wheel wells and underside of the
vehicle to remove any dirt and dust.
 Wash the vehicle body using a
sponge or soft cloth, such as a
chamois.
 For hard-to-remove marks, use car
wash soap and rinse thoroughly with
water.
 Wipe away any water.
 Wax the vehicle when the water-
proof coating deteriorates.
If water does not bead on a clean surface,
apply wax when the vehicle body is cool.
■CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plas- tic) part (if equipped)
●As the CFRP parts may change color if they are exposed to ultraviolet rays for
extended periods of time, Lexus recom- mends that your vehicle be stored in a place where it will not be exposed to
direct sunlight.
●Do not use wax that contains abrasives.
●Do not use automatic car washes as they may scratch the CFRP parts and damage
the paint.
■Self-restoring coat*
The vehicle body has a self-restoring coat-
ing that is resistant to small surface scratches caused in a car wash etc.
●The coating lasts for 5 to 8 years from when the vehicle is delivered from the plant.
●The restoration time differs depending on the depth of the scratch and outside tem-
perature. The restoration time may become shorter when the coating is warmed by
applying warm water.
●Deep scratches caused by keys, coins,
etc. cannot be restored.
●Do not use wax that contains abrasives.
*: CFRP parts (if equipped) do not have a
self-restoring coat.
■Cleaning the areas with metal accents
Do not use baking soda (sodium bicarbon-
ate) and wax that contains abrasives.
■Automatic car washes (vehicles without CFRP parts)
●Fold the mirrors before washing the vehi-cle. Start washing from the front of the vehicle. Make sure to extend the mirrors
before driving.
●Wash the vehicle with the active rear wing retracted. If the vehicle is washed with the active rear wing raised, depend-
ing on the type of automatic car wash, the brushes of the automatic car wash may become stuck on the active rear wing. In
this case, the active rear wing may not be washed very well or may even be scratched or damaged.
●Brushes used in automatic car washes may scratch the vehicle body and dam-
age the paint.
■High pressure car washes
●Do not allow the nozzles of the car wash
to come within close proximity of the win- dows.
●Before using the car wash, check that the fuel filler door on your vehicle is closed properly.

●If you directly touch the raindrop sen- sor body or if something bumps into the raindrop sensor
■Precautions regarding the exhaust
pipes and rear bumper diffusers
As exhaust gases cause the exhaust
pipes and rear bumper diffusers to become quite hot, do not touch the exhaust pipes and rear bumper diffusers
while the engine is running or immediately after the engine is turned off.
When washing the vehicle, be careful not to touch the exhaust pipes and rear
bumper diffusers until they have cooled sufficiently, as touching hot exhaust pipes and rear bumper diffusers can cause
burns.
■Precaution regarding the rear bumper with Blind Spot Monitor (if equipped)
If the paint of the rear bumper is chipped or scratched, the system may malfunc-
tion. If this occurs, consult any authorized Lexus retailer or Lexus authorized repairer, or any reliable repairer.
NOTICE
■Application of coatings to the vehicle body (vehicles with CFRP parts)
Do not apply any kind of coating to the vehicle body as doing so may damage
the paint or reduce its durability.
■To prevent paint deterioration and corrosion on the body and compo-
nents (aluminum wheels etc.)
●Wash the vehicle immediately in the
following cases:
• After driving near the sea coast
• After driving on salted roads
• If coal tar, pollen or tree sap is present on the paint surface
• If dead insects, insect droppings or bird droppings are present on the paint surface
• After driving in an area contaminated with soot, oily smoke, mine dust, iron
powder or chemical substances
• If the vehicle becomes heavily soiled
with dust or mud
• If liquids such as benzene and gasoline
are spilled on the paint surface
●If the paint is chipped or scratched, have it repaired immediately.
●To prevent the wheels from corroding, remove any dirt and store in a place
with low humidity when storing the wheels.
■Cleaning the exterior lights
●Wash carefully. Do not use organic substances or scrub with a hard brush.
This may damage the surfaces of the lights.
●Do not apply wax to the surfaces of the lights.
Wax may cause damage to the lenses.
■When using an automatic car wash
Set the wiper switch to the off position.
If the wiper switch is in AUTO, the wipers may operate and the wiper blades may be damaged.

■CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plas- tic) parts (if equipped)
CFRP is used for the scuff plates. When cleaning the scuff plates, remove dirt using a water-dampened soft cloth or synthetic
chamois, and then wipe the surface with a dry soft cloth to remove any remaining moisture.
WARNING
■Water in the vehicle
●LC500: Do not splash or spill liquid in the vehicle.Doing so may cause electrical compo-
nents etc. to malfunction or catch fire. LC500h: Do not splash or spill liquid in the vehicle, such as on the floor, on
the rear seats, in the hybrid battery (traction battery) air vents or in the trunk. ( P.68)
Doing so may cause the hybrid battery, electrical components, etc. to mal-function or catch fire.
●Do not get any of the SRS components
or wiring in the vehicle interior wet. ( P.35) An electrical malfunction may cause
the airbags to deploy or not function properly, resulting in death or serious injury.
■Cleaning the interior (especially
instrument panel)
Do not use polish wax or polish cleaner.
The instrument panel may reflect off the windshield, obstructing the driver’s view and leading to an accident, resulting in
death or serious injury.
NOTICE
■Cleaning detergents
●Do not use the following types of
detergent, as they may discolor the vehicle interior or cause streaks or damage to painted surfaces:
• Non-seat portions: Organic sub- stances such as benzene or gasoline,
alkaline or acidic solutions, dye, and bleach
• Seats: Alkaline or acidic solutions, such as thinner, benzene, and alcohol
●Do not use polish wax or polish cleaner. The instrument panel’s or
other interior part’s painted surface may be damaged.
■Preventing damage to leather sur-faces
Observe the following precautions to avoid damage to and deterioration of
leather surfaces:
●Remove any dust or dirt from leather surfaces immediately.
●Do not expose the vehicle to direct sunlight for extended periods of time.
Park the vehicle in the shade, espe- cially during summer.
●Do not place items made of vinyl, plas-tic, or containing wax on the uphol-
stery, as they may stick to the leather surface if the vehicle interior heats up significantly.
■Water on the floor
Do not wash the vehicle floor with water. Vehicle systems such as the audio system
may be damaged if water comes into contact with electrical components such as the audio system above or under the
floor of the vehicle. Water may also cause the body to rust.
