The parking assist monitor is a supple-
mental device intended to assist the
driver when backin g up. When back-
ing up, be sure to visually check all
around the vehicle both directly and
using the mirrors before proceeding. If
you do not, you may hit another vehi-
cle, and could possibly cause an acci-
dent.
Pay attention to the following precau-
tions when using the parking assist
monitor.
Lexus parking assist monitor
The parking assist monitor assists
the driver by displaying an image of
the view behind the vehicle while
backing up, for example while park-
ing.
Driving precautions
WARNING
●Never depend on the parking assist monitor entirely when backing up. The image and the position of the guide
lines displayed on the screen may dif- fer from the actual state.Use caution, just as you would when
backing up any vehicle.
●Be sure to back up slowly, depressing the brake pedal to control vehicle speed.
●If you seem likely to hit nearby vehicles, obstacles, people or mount the shoul-
der, depress the brake pedal to stop the vehicle.
●The instructions given are only guide-lines. When and how much to turn the
steering wheel will vary according to traffic conditions, road surface condi-tions, vehicle condition, etc. when
parking. It is necessary to be fully aware of this before using the parking assist system.
●When parking, be sure to check that
the parking space will accommodate your vehicle before maneuvering into it.
●Do not use the parking assist monitor
system in the following cases:
• On icy or slick road surfaces, or in
snow
• When using tire chains or emergency
tires
• When the trunk is not closed com-
pletely
• On roads that are not flat or straight, such as curves or slopes
●In low temperatures, the screen may darken or the image may become
faint. The image could distort when the vehicle is moving, or you may become unable to see the image on the screen.
Be sure to visually check all around the vehicle both directly and using the mir-rors before proceeding.
●If the tire sizes are changed, the posi-
tion of the guide lines displayed on the screen may change.
●The camera uses a special lens. The distances between objects and pedes-
trians that appear in the image dis- played on the screen will differ from the actual distances. ( P.182)

●Favourites that are located outside of the map’s data range cannot be registered.
●A maximum of 200 favourites can be registered.
●In some cases, favourites and routes may not be able to be imported. If this occurs,
an error message with more details will be displayed.
Street View can be activated whenever
the Street View icon is visible.
For example:
1 A short while later after the “MAP”
button is pressed, the display auto-
matically switches to map screen.

2 Select a point on the map.
3 Press the button on the Remote
touch.
4 Select “Street View”.
5 Check that the picture is displayed.
“<”, “>”: Select to change pictures. Up to 6 pictures per location can be displayed.
●The Street View function can also be
selected from the following screens: • Entire route map screen ( P.90) • Online POI details screen (except traffic
messages) ( P.75)
NOTICE
●Depending on the size and shape of
the device that is connected to the sys- tem, the console box may not close fully. In this case, do not forcibly close
the console box as this may damage the device or the terminal, etc.

tion can be viewed, provided the
system is connected to the internet.
