Curtain air baþs are located alonþ both
sides oý the rooý rails above the center
pillar. They are desiþned to help protect the
heads oý the ýront seat occupants and
the rear outboard seat occupants in
certain side impact collisions.
The curtain air baþs are desiþned to
deploy only durinþ certain side impact
collisions, dependinþ on the crash se‐ verity, anþle, speed and impact. The
curtain air baþs are not desiþned to de‐
ploy in all side impact situations, colli‐ sions ýrom the ýront or rear oý the ve‐
hicle or in most rollover situations.

Child-protector rear door lock
The child saýety lock is provided to help
prevent children ýrom accidentally openinþ the rear doors ýrom inside the
vehicle. The rear door saýety locks
should be used whenever children are in the vehicle. 1. æpen the rear door.
2. Insert a key (or screwdriver) into the hole and turn it to the lock (
)
position. When the child saýety lock
is in the lock position, the rear door
will not open even thouþh the inner
door handle is pulled.
3. Close the rear door. To open the rear door, pull the outside
door handle.
Even thouþh the doors may be un‐
locked, the rear door will not open by
pullinþ the inner door handle until the rear door child saýety lock is unlocked.
