NOTE:The system will automatically time out and the
ignition will cycle to the OFF mode after 30 minutes of
inactivity if the ignition is left in the ACC or RUN (engine
not running) mode and the transmission is in PARK.
ENGINE START/STOP Button Functions — With Driv-
er ’s Foot OFF The Brake Pedal (In PARK Or NEUTRAL
Position)
The ENGINE START/STOP button operates similar to an
ignition switch. It has three modes: OFF, ACC, and RUN.
To change the ignition modes without starting the vehicle
and use the accessories, follow these steps:
1. Starting with the ignition in the OFF mode,
2. Push the ENGINE START/STOP button once to place the ignition to the ACC mode (instrument cluster will
display “ACC”),
3. Push the ENGINE START/STOP button a second time to place the ignition to the RUN mode (instrument
cluster will display “ON/RUN”),
4. Push the ENGINE START/STOP button a third time to return the ignition to the OFF mode (instrument cluster
will display “OFF”).If Engine Fails To Start

to boil unexpectedly during hard or prolonged brak-
ing, resulting in sudden brake failure. This could
result in a collision.
• Overfilling the brake fluid reservoir can result in
spilling brake fluid on hot engine parts, causing the
brake fluid to catch fire. Brake fluid can also damage
painted and vinyl surfaces, care should be taken to
avoid its contact with these surfaces.
• Do not allow petroleum based fluid to contaminate
the brake fluid. Brake seal components could be
damaged, causing partial or complete brake failure.
This could result in a collision.
Automatic Transmission
Selection Of Lubricant
It is important to use the proper transmission fluid to
ensure optimum transmission performance and life. Use
only the manufacturer’s specified transmission fluid. Refer
to “Fluids And Lubricants” in “Technical Specifications”
for fluid specifications. It is important to maintain the
transmission fluid at the correct level using the recom-
mended fluid. NOTE:
No chemical flushes should be used in any trans-
mission; only the approved lubricant should be used.
