∙ The following conditions may reduce the ability of the radar to detect other
vehicles:
– Severe weather
– Road spray
– Ice/frost/dirt build up on the vehicle
∙ Do not attach stickers (including trans- parent material), install accessories or
apply additional paint near the radar sen-
sors. These conditions may reduce the
ability of the radar to detect other
vehicles.
∙ The sonar sensors detect stationary ob- jects behind the vehicle. The sonar sensor
may not detect:
– Small or moving objects
– Wedge-shaped objects
– Objects close to the bumper (less than approximately 30 cm [1 ft.]) – Thin objects such as rope, wire and
chain, etc.
∙ The brake engagement by the BCI system is not as effective on a slope as it is on flat
ground. When on a steep slope the sys-
tem may not function properly.
∙ Do not use the BCI system under the fol- lowing conditions because the system
may not function properly.
– When driving with a tire that is not within normal tire conditions (e.g. tire
wear, low tire pressure, installation of
spare tire, tire chains, non-standard
wheels).
– When the vehicle is equipped with non-original brake parts or suspen-
sion parts.
∙ Do not use the BCI system when towing a trailer.
∙ Excessive noise (e.g. audio system vol- ume, open vehicle window) will interfere
with the chime sound, and it may not be
heard.SYSTEM TEMPORARILY NOT

If the following messages appear on the ve-
hicle information display, a chime will sound
and the BCI system will be turned off auto-
matically:
∙ “Unavailable: High Accelerator Temp:”: If the vehicle is parked in direct sunlight
under high temperature conditions (over
approximately 40°C [104°F]) and then
started, the BCI system may be deacti-
vated automatically and the “Unavailable:
High Accelerator Temp” message will ap-
pear in the vehicle information display for
a period of time.
When the interior temperature is re-
duced, turn off the BCI system and turn it
on again.
∙ “Unavailable: Side Radar Obstruction:”: When side radar blockage is detected.
When the blockage is removed, turn off
the BCI system and turn it on again.

∙ The system may not detect the vehicle infront of you in certain road or weather
conditions. To avoid accidents, never use
the ICC system under the following
conditions:
– On roads where the traffic is heavy or there are sharp curves
– On slippery road surfaces such as on ice or snow, etc.
– During bad weather (rain, fog, snow, etc.)
– When rain, snow or dirt adhere to the bumper around the distance sensor
– On steep downhill roads (the vehicle may go beyond the set vehicle speed
and frequent braking may result in
overheating the brakes)
– On repeated uphill and downhill roads
– When traffic conditions make it diffi- cult to keep a proper distance be-
tween vehicles because of frequent
acceleration or deceleration
– Interference by other radar sources.
∙ Do not use the ICC system if you are tow- ing a trailer. The system may not detect a
vehicle ahead. ∙ In some road or traffic conditions, a ve-
hicle or object can unexpectedly come
into the sensor detection zone and cause
automatic braking. Always stay alert and
avoid using the ICC system where not
recommended in this warning section.
The radar sensor will not detect the following
objects: ∙ Stationary and slow moving vehicles
∙ Pedestrians or objects in the roadway
∙ Oncoming vehicles in the same lane
∙ Motorcycles traveling offset in the travel lane
The following are some conditions in which
the sensor cannot properly detect a vehicle
ahead and the system may not operate prop-
erly: ∙ When snow or road spray from traveling vehicles reduces the sensor’s detection.
∙ When excessively heavy baggage is loaded in the rear seat or the cargo area
of your vehicle.
The ICC system is designed to automatically
check the sensor’s operation within the limi-
tations of the system. The detection zone of the ICC sensor is lim-
ited. A vehicle ahead must be in the detection
zone for the vehicle-to-vehicle distance de-
tection mode to maintain the selected dis-
tance from the vehicle ahead.
A vehicle ahead may move outside of the
detection zone due to its position within the
same lane of travel. Motorcycles may not be
detected in the same lane ahead if they are
traveling offset from the centerline of the
lane. A vehicle that is entering the lane ahead
may not be detected until the vehicle has
completely moved into the lane.
If this occurs, the ICC system may warn you
by blinking the system indicator and sound-
ing the chime. The driver may have to manu-
ally control the proper distance away from
the vehicle traveling ahead.

Setting DCA system to ON/OFF:
The DCA can be turned on/off in the vehicle
information display using the buttons on the
steering wheel.1. Press the
button until “Settings”
displays in the vehicle information dis-
play. Use the
button to select
“Driver Assistance.” Then press the EN-
TER button.
2. Select “Driving Aids,” and press the EN- TER button.
3. Select “Forward,” and press the ENTER button.
4. To turn on the “Assistance (DCA)” check the box using the ENTER button.
If the LDP, BSI and DCA systems are set to
off in the vehicle information display and the
dynamic driver assistance switch is pushed,
the LDW ON indicator light, BSI ON indicator
light, and the DCA system switch indicator
light will blink for approximately 2 seconds.

refer to “Lane Departure Prevention (LDP)”
and “Blind Spot Intervention® (BSI)” in this
section.
DCA SYSTEM LIMITATIONS
WARNING
∙ This system is only an aid to assist the driver and is not a collision warning or
avoidance device. It is the driver’s re-
sponsibility to stay alert, drive safely and
be in control of the vehicle at all times.
∙ This system will not adapt automatically to road conditions.
∙ As there is a performance limit to the dis- tance control function, never rely solely
on the DCA system. This system does not
correct careless, inattentive or absent-
minded driving, or overcome poor visibil-
ity in rain, fog, or other bad weather. De-
celerate the vehicle speed by depressing
the brake pedal, depending on the dis-
tance to the vehicle ahead and the sur-
rounding circumstances in order to main-
tain a safe distance between vehicles.
∙ The system may not detect the vehicle in front of you in certain road or weather
conditions. To avoid accidents, never use
the DCA system under the following
conditions:
– On roads with sharp curves – On slippery road surfaces such as on

WARNING
Overloading or improper loading of a trailer
and its cargo can adversely affect vehicle
handling, braking and performance and
may lead to accidents.
CAUTION
∙ Do not tow a trailer or haul a heavy loadfor the first 805 km (500 miles). Your
engine, axle or other parts could be
damaged.
∙ For the first 805 km (500 miles) that you tow a trailer, do not drive over 80 km/h
(50 mph) and do not make starts at full
throttle. This helps the engine and other
parts of your vehicle wear in at the
heavier loads.
Your new vehicle was designed to be used
primarily to carry passengers and cargo. Re-
member that towing a trailer places addi-
tional loads on your vehicle’s engine, drive
train, steering, braking and other systems.
FLAT TOWING
Towing your vehicle with all four wheels on
the ground is sometimes called flat towing.
This method is sometimes used when towing
a vehicle behind a recreational vehicle, such
as a motor home.
CAUTION
∙ Failure to follow these guidelines can re- sult in severe transmission damage.
∙ DO NOT tow any CVT vehicle with all four wheels on the ground (flat towing).
Doing so WILL DAMAGE internal trans-
mission parts due to lack of transmission
lubrication.

Continuously Variable Transmission
(CVT)
To tow a vehicle equipped with a CVT, an
appropriate vehicle dolly MUSTbe placed

jumper harness, perform the following proce-
dure:1. Open the driver door. Move the seat to the rearmost position.
2. Locate the jumper harness connectorunder the lower portion of the instru-
ment panel. The connector is taped to

3. Peel off the tape and connect the jumperharness to the connector .
4. Release the parking brake.
5. Install the aftermarket electric trailer brake controller according to the manu-
facturer’s instructions.
WARNING
∙ If the engine is not running or is turned offwhile driving, the power assist for the
steering will not work. Steering will be
harder to operate.
∙ When the power steering warning light illuminates with the engine running,
there will be no power assist for the
steering. You will still have control of the
vehicle but the steering will be harder to
operate. Have the power steering system
checked. It is recommended that you visit
an INFINITI retailer for this service.
The power steering system is designed to
provide power assist while driving to operate
the steering wheel with light force.
When the steering wheel is operated repeat-
edly or continuously while parking or driving
at a very low speed, the power assist for the
steering wheel will be reduced. This is to pre-
vent overheating of the power steering sys-
tem and protect it from getting damaged.
While the power assist is reduced, steering
wheel operation will become heavy. If the
steering wheel operation is still performed,
the power steering may stop and the power
steering warning light will illuminate. In a safe
location, stop the engine and push the igni-
tion switch to the OFF position. The temperature of the power steering sys-
tem will go down after a period of time and
the power assist level will return to normal
after starting the engine. The power steering
warning light will go off. Avoid repeating
such steering wheel operations that could
cause the power steering system to overheat.
You may hear a sound from the front of the
vehicle when the steering wheel is operated
quickly. This is a normal operational noise and
is not a malfunction.
If the power steering warning light
PSillumi-
nates while the engine is running, it may indi-
cate the power steering system is not func-
tioning properly and may need servicing.
Have the power steering system checked. It is
recommended that you visit an INFINITI re-
tailer for this service.
When the power steering warning light illu-
minates with the engine running, there will be
no power assist for the steering but you will
still have control of the vehicle. At this time,
greater steering effort is required to operate
the steering wheel, especially in sharp turns
and at low speeds.
