■Hill start assist system
Hill start assist keeps the brake engaged br iefly to help prevent the vehicle from
rolling on inclines as you move your fo ot from the brake pedal to the accelerator.
Depress the clutch pedal, and shift to on e of the forward gears when facing uphill,
or
(R when facing downhill, then release the brake pedal.
Move the shift lever to
(D or (S when facing uphill, or (R when facing downhill,
then release the brake pedal.
1 Hill start assist system
Hill start assist may not prevent the vehicle from
rolling downhill on a very st eep or slippery slope, and
does not operate on small inclines.
Hill start assist is not a replacement for the parking
brake.
Hill start assist will operate even when VSA ® is
switched off.

NOTICE
Do not shift to (R before the vehicle comes to a

Driving
When you are not shifting, do not rest your
foot on the clutch pedal. This can cause your
clutch to wear out faster. 1Shifting
If you exceed the maximum speed for the gear you
are in, the engine speed will enter into the
tachometer’s red zone. When this happens, you may
experience a slight jolt.

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)*
Helps maintain a constant vehicle speed an d a set following-interval behind a vehicle
detected ahead of yours, without you having to keep your foot on the brake or the
accelerator.1 Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)*
Important Reminder
As with any system, there are limits to ACC. Use the
brake pedal whenever necessary, and always keep a
safe interval betw een your vehicle and other vehicles.
Shift up when the engine revolutions is increasing.
Shift down when the engine revolutions is decreasing.
You can keep the set speed if you change the shift position
within five second after depressing the clutch pedal.
You can read about handling information for the
camera equipped with this system.

3WARNING
Improper use of ACC can lead to a crash.
Use ACC only when driving on expressways or
freeways in good weather conditions.
3WARNING
ACC has limited braking capability.
When your vehicle speed drops below
22 mph (35 km/h), ACC will automatically
cancel and no longer will apply your
vehicle’s brakes.
Always be prepared to apply the brake
pedal when conditions require.
