Gauges and Driver In formation Interface Gauges Gauges include the speedometer, fuel gauge, POWER / CHARGE gauge, high
voltage battery charge level gauge, and related indicators. They are displayed when
the power mode is in ON.
Displays your driving speed in mph or km/h.
Displays the approximate amount of fuel left in the fuel tank.
Shows the estimated distance you can travel
on the remaining power and fuel. This
estimate is based on the fuel economy and
energy consumption of your previous trips
and the remaining high voltage battery charge

Press the (display /information) button
repeatedly until the icon is shown on the driver
information interface. Press ENTER , then press and
hold it again. The spee dometer read ing and the
displayed measurements wi ll switch between mph
and km/h.

You should refuel when the needle approaches .
Running out of fuel can cause the engine to misfire,
damaging the cata lytic converter.
The actual amount of remain ing fuel may differ from

Instrument Panel ■ Electric motor
The degree to which the electric motor is be ing powered is displayed by the readings
on the POWER side.
When you depress the accelerator pedal, th e white needle on the gauge moves. The
curved blue line on the gauge shows the range within which only the electric motor
provides propulsion to the wheels. The length of this line varies depending on the
drive mode and the remaining power of th e High Voltage battery. When the white
needle exceeds the curved blue line, the engine starts and the curved blue line turns
white.

The degree to which the High Voltage battery is being charged is displayed by the
readings on the CHARGE side when coasting or during deceleration.■ POWER/CHARGE Gauge 1 Electric motor
The power output of the elec tric motor is restricted
when the high voltage battery charge level is running
low (one segment on the gauge).
If you accelerate aggressively, the engine may start
even though the white needle has not exceeded the
curved blue line.

Shows the remaining high voltage battery charge level.
■ High Voltage Battery Charge Level Gauge 1 High Voltage Battery Charge Level Gauge
When the number of bars displayed on the High
Voltage Battery Charge Level Gauge becomes one,
assist by the high-voltage battery is li mited and the
vehicle output is lowered.
The high voltage battery ch arge level may decrease
under the following conditions:
• When the 12-volt battery has been replaced.
• When the 12-volt battery has been disconnected.
• When the high voltage battery control system
corrects its reading.
The charge level readi ng will be corrected
automatically while driving.
Changes in the temperature of the high voltage
battery can increase or decrease the battery’s
charging capacity. If temp erature changes cause the
battery’s capacity to change, the number of
indicators in the battery ch arge level gauge may also
change, even if the amount of charge remains the

Locking and Unlocking the Doors Key Types and Functions This vehicle comes wi th the following keys:
Use the keys to turn on and off the power
system, and to lock and unlock the doors and
to open the trunk. You can also use the
remote transmitter to lock and unlock the
doors and trunk, and open the charge lid.
The built-in key can be us ed to lock/unlock the
doors when the smart entry remote battery
becomes weak and the power door lock/
unlock operation is disabled.
To remove the built-in key, slide the release
knob and then pull out the key. To reinstall
the built-in key, push th e built-in key into the
smart entry remote until it clicks. 1 Key Types and Functions
All the keys have an immobilizer system. The
immobilizer system helps to protect against vehicle
theft.

Follow the advice below to prevent damage to the
keys:
• Do not leave the keys in direct sunlight, or in
locations with high temperature or high humidity.
• Do not drop the keys or set heavy objects on them.
• Keep the keys away from liquids, dust and sand.
• Do not take the keys apart except for replacing the
battery.
If the circuits in the keys are damaged, the power
system may not activate, and the remote transmitter
may not work.
If the keys do not work properly, have them
inspected by an authorized Honda Clarity Plug-In
Hybrid dealer.

Low Smart Entry Remo te Signal StrengthThe vehicle transmits radio waves to loca te the smart entry remote when locking/
unlocking the doors, opening the trunk, or to activate the power system.
In the following cases, locking/unlocking the doors, opening the trunk, or activating
the power system may be inhibited or operation may be unstable:
• Strong radio waves are being tra nsmitted by nearby equipment.
• You are carrying the smart entry remote together with telecommunications
equipment, laptop computers, ce ll phones, or wireless devices.
• A metallic object is touching or covering the smart entry remote.■ Key Number Tag 1 Key Number Tag
Keep the key number tag separate from the key in a
safe place outside of your vehicle.
If you wish to purchase an additional key, contact an

1 Low Smart Entry Remote Signal Strength
Communication between the smart entry remote and
the vehicle consumes the smart entry remote’s
battery.
Battery life is about two years, but this varies
depending on regularity of use.
The battery is consumed whenever the smart entry
remote is receivi ng strong radio wave s. Avoid placing
it near electrical appliances such as televisions and
