DATA RECORDING
Service Data Recording
Service data recorders in your vehicle arecapable of collecting and storingdiagnostic information about your vehicle.This potentially includes information aboutthe performance or status of varioussystems and modules in the vehicle, suchas engine, throttle, steering or brakesystems. In order to properly diagnose andservice your vehicle, Ford Motor Company(Ford of Canada in Canada), and serviceand repair facilities may access or shareamong them vehicle diagnosticinformation received through a directconnection to your vehicle whendiagnosing or servicing your vehicle.Additionally, Ford Motor Company (Fordof Canada, in Canada) may, wherepermitted by law, use vehicle diagnosticinformation for vehicle improvement orwith other information we may have aboutyou, (for example, your contactinformation), to offer you products orservices that may interest you. Data maybe provided to our service providers suchas part suppliers that may help diagnosemalfunctions, and who are similarlyobligated to protect data. We retain thisdata only as long as necessary to performthese functions or to comply with law. Wemay provide information where requiredin response to official requests to lawenforcement or other governmentauthorities or third parties acting withlawful authority or court order, and suchinformation may be used in legalproceedings. For U.S. only (if equipped), ifyou choose to use connected apps andservices, such as SYNC Vehicle HealthReport or MyFord Mobile App, you consentthat certain diagnostic information may

ADJUSTING THE STEERING
WHEEL - VEHICLES WITH:
POWER ADJUSTABLE
STEERING COLUMN
WARNING
Do not adjust the steering wheelwhen your vehicle is moving.
Note: Make sure that you are sitting in thecorrect position. See Sitting in the CorrectPosition (page 128).
Use the control on the side of the steeringcolumn to adjust the position.
To adjust:
•Tilt: Press the top or bottom of thecontrol.
•Telescope: Press the front or rear ofthe control.
End of Travel Position
The steering column sets a stoppingposition just short of the end of the columnposition to prevent damage to the steeringcolumn. A new stopping position sets if thesteering column encounters an objectwhen tilting or telescoping.
To reset the steering column to its normalstopping position:
1. Confirm there is nothing obstructingthe motion of the steering column.
2. Press and hold the steering columncontrol until the steering column stopsmoving.
3. Press the steering column controlagain.
Note:The steering column may begin tomove again.
4. When the steering column stops,continue holding the control for a fewseconds.
5.Repeat for each direction as necessary.
A new stopping position sets. The nexttime you tilt or telescope the steeringcolumn, it stops just short of the end of thecolumn position.
Memory Feature
You can save and recall the steeringcolumn position with the memory function.See Memory Function (page 132).
Pressing the adjustment control during amemory recall cancels the operation.
Easy Entry and Exit Feature
The column moves up when you switchthe ignition off. Switch the ignition on toreturn the system to its previous settings.You can switch this feature on or off in theinformation display. See InformationDisplays (page 97).

Engage
Engage provides separate gauges forengine power and high voltage batterypower in kilowatts (kW). The engine powergauge fill is white and the high voltagebattery power gauge fill is blue. You canalso see an instantaneous fuel economygauge. When your vehicle is operating onbattery power only, you will see EVdisplayed and the gauges will appear inblue.
Empower
Empower provides a power demand gaugein kilowatts (kW) which includes an engineon or off threshold.
•When your vehicle is operating withbattery power only (below thethreshold), you will see EV displayedand the gauge fill is blue.
•When your vehicle is operating withboth the engine and the high voltagebattery providing power, the gauge fillis white.
•When power demand surpasses theamber indicator, this level of demandand associated fuel economy displaysin amber.
•When the engine is on, reducing powerdemand to less than the threshold willallow the engine to turn off.
You can also see an instantaneous fueleconomy gauge.
Note:You can reset your average fueleconomy by pressing and holding the OKbutton on the left hand steering wheelcontrols.

Fuel Economy (Energi only)
This display is only available in HybridMode. In Plug-in Power Mode the displaychanges to Miles (or km)/Full Charge.
An Instant Fuel Economy gauge is providedalong with Avg Fuel Economy. Whileviewing this screen you can reset youraverage fuel economy by pressing andholding the OK button on the left handsteering wheel controls. For moreinformation see Common Displays in thischapter.
Trip 1 & 2
Provides trip odometer, trip average fueleconomy and trip timer.
Distance traveled on battery power onlywith the engine off is shown in blue nextto total trip distance.
For Energi vehicles total plug-in electricityused in kilowatt hours (kWh) is shown inblue next to trip average fuel economy.
Information
In this mode, you can viewdifferent vehicle systeminformation and perform asystem check.

Displays a number of different system tutorials. Use theup or down arrows to scroll through the tutorials. Thenpress OK to view.

Common Displays
Both Average fuel economy and aninstantaneous fuel economy gauge areincluded in Engage, Empower, MyView (ifselected) and Fuel Economy (shown inHybrid Mode) on the left-hand informationdisplay. They are also included in FuelHistory on the right-hand informationdisplay.
Average Fuel Economy
Average Fuel Economy is continuouslyaveraged since the last reset. You can resetyour average fuel economy by pressing andholding the OK button on thecorresponding steering wheel controls. ForEnergi vehicles both Hybrid and Plug-inPower mode operation will be included inthe calculation.
Note:Average fuel economy cannot bereset in MyView.
Instantaneous Fuel Economy
If your instantaneous fuel economy isgreater than the maximum valuedisplayed, a + sign will be shown next tothe maximum scale number. When yourvehicle is operating on battery power only,EV will display and the gauge fill will showin blue.
INFORMATION MESSAGES
Note: Depending on your vehicle optionsand instrument cluster type, not all of themessages will display or be available.Certain messages may be abbreviated orshortened depending upon which clustertype you have.
Press the OK button to acknowledge andremove some messages from theinformation display. Other messages willbe removed automatically after a shorttime.
Certain messages need to be confirmedbefore you can access the menus.
