•The indicator light either flashes orstays illuminated.
•You could hear five tones thatperiodically repeat until the problem isrepaired.
•A message could appear in theinformation display.
If any of these things happen, evenintermittently, have the supplementalrestraint system serviced at an authorizeddealer immediately. Unless serviced, thesystem may not function properly in theevent of a crash.
The seatbelt pretensioners and the airbagsupplemental restraint system aredesigned to activate when your vehiclesustains frontal or sideways decelerationsufficient to cause the restraints controlmodule to deploy a safety device or whena certain likelihood of a rollover event isdetected by the rollover sensor.
The fact that the seatbelt pretensionersor airbags did not activate for both frontseat occupants in a crash does not meanthat something is wrong with the system.Rather, it means the restraints controlmodule determined the crash conditions(for example, crash severity, belt usage)were not appropriate to activate thesesafety devices.
•The design of the front airbags is toactivate only in frontal and near-frontalcrashes (not rollovers, side impacts orrear impacts) unless the crash causessufficient frontal deceleration.
•The seatbelt pretensioners aredesigned to activate in frontal,near-frontal, side and rollover crashes.
•The design of the side airbags is toinflate in certain side crashes. Sideairbags could activate in other types ofcrashes if the vehicle experiencessufficient sideways motion ordeformation.
•The knee airbag(s) could deploy basedon crash severity and occupantconditions.
•The design of the Safety Canopy is toinflate in certain side impact crashesand when a certain likelihood ofrollover is detected by the rolloversensor. The Safety Canopy couldactivate in other types of crashes if thevehicle experiences sufficient sidewaysmotion or deformation, or a certainlikelihood of rollover.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Condensation in the Exterior FrontLamps and Rear Lamps
Exterior front lamps and rear lamps havevents to accommodate normal changesin air pressure.
Condensation can be a natural by-productof this design. When moist air enters thelamp assembly through the vents, there isa possibility that condensation can occurwhen the temperature is cold. Whennormal condensation occurs, a fine mistcan form on the interior of the lens. Thefine mist eventually clears and exitsthrough the vents during normal operation.
Clearing time may take as long as 48 hoursunder dry weather conditions.
Examples of acceptable condensation are:
•The presence of a fine mist (no streaks, drip marks or large droplets).
•A fine mist covers less than 50% of thelens.
Examples of unacceptable condensationare:
•A water puddle inside the lamp.
•Streaks, drip marks or large dropletspresent on the interior of the lens.
If you see any unacceptable condensation, have your vehicle checked by an authorizeddealer.

If the needle enters the red section, theengine is overheating. Stop the engine, switch the ignition off and determine thecause once the engine has cooled down.See Engine Coolant Check (page 217).
Fuel Gauge
Note:: The fuel gauge may vary slightlywhen your vehicle is moving or on a gradient.
Switch the ignition on. The fuel gauge willindicate approximately how much fuel isleft in the fuel tank. The arrow adjacent tothe fuel pump symbol indicates on whichside of your vehicle the fuel filler door islocated.
The needle should move toward F whenyou refuel your vehicle. If the needle pointsto E after adding fuel, this indicates yourvehicle needs service soon.
After refueling some variability in needleposition is normal.
Note:It may take a short time for theneedle to reach F after leaving the gasstation. This is normal and depends uponthe slope of pavement at the gas station.
Note:The fuel amount dispensed into thetank is a little less or more than the gaugeindicated. This is normal and depends uponthe slope of pavement at the gas station.
Note:If the gas station nozzle shuts offbefore the tank is full, try a different gaspump nozzle.
Low Fuel Reminder
A low fuel reminder triggers at about 50miles (80 km). The low fuel warning lightwill light, a warning chime will sound anda pop up will be shown in the displayindicating the remaining distance to empty. You will also get a subsequent reminderat 20, 10 and 0 miles.
WARNING LAMPS AND
INDICATORS
The following warning lamps andindicators alert you to a vehicle conditionthat may become serious. Some lampsilluminate when you start your vehicle tomake sure they work. If any lamps remainon after starting your vehicle, refer to therespective system warning lamp for furtherinformation.
Note:Some warning indicators appear inthe information display and operate thesame as a warning lamp but do notilluminate when you start your vehicle.
