Maintenance
Correct operation is only possible if the towball
and its carrier are kept clean.
Before cleaning the vehicle with a high
pressure jet wash, the towball harness socket
carrier must be folded away, the towball
removed and the blanking plug inserted in the
c a r r i e r.
Contact the dealer network or a qualified
workshop for any work on the towball system.
Remove the quickly detachable towball
when not towing a trailer.
The active lane departure warning
function will be deactivated when the
trailer is connected to the vehicle.

Manual parking brake
If excessive travel or a loss of
effectiveness of this system is
noticed, the parking brake must
be checked, even between two
services.
This system must be checked in the dealer
network or by a qualified workshop.
Electric parking brake
This system does not require any
routine servicing. However, in the
event of a problem, have the system
checked in the dealer network or by
a qualified workshop.
For more information on the Electric
parking brake , refer to the corresponding
section.
Only use products recommended by DS
AUTOMOBILES or products of equivalent
quality and specification.
In order to optimise the operation of
components as important as those in
the braking system, DS AUTOMOBILES
selects and offers very specific products.
After washing the vehicle, dampness, or
in wintry conditions, ice can form on the
brake discs and pads: braking efficiency
may be reduced. Make light brake
applications to dry and defrost the brakes.
AdBlue® (BlueHDi
engines)
To respect the environment and ensure
compliance with the Euro 6 standard, without
adversely affecting the performance or
fuel consumption of Diesel engines, DS
AUTOMOBILES has taken the decision to
equip its vehicles with a system that associates
SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) with a
Diesel particle filter (DPF) for the treatment of
exhaust gases.
SCR system
Using a liquid called AdBlue® that contains
urea, a catalytic converter turns up to 85% of
the oxides of nitrogen (NOx) into nitrogen and
water, which are harmless to health and the
environment.
Brake pads
Brake wear depends on the style
of driving, particularly in the case
of vehicles used in town, over short
distances. It may be necessary to
have the condition of the brakes
checked, even between vehicle
services.
Unless there is a leak in the circuit, a drop in
the brake fluid level indicates that the brake
pads are worn.
Brake disc/drum wear
For information on checking brake
disc wear, contact the dealer
network or a qualified workshop.

Temporary puncture
repair kit
This kit comprises a compressor and a sealant
cartridge.
It allows the temporary repair of a tyre.
You are then able to go to the nearest garage.
It is designed to repair most punctures
which could affect the tyre, located on the
tyre tread or shoulder.
Its compressor can be used to check and
adjust the pressure of the tyre.
Tyre under-inflation detection
If the vehicle is fitted with tyre under-
inflation detection, the under-inflation
warning lamp will remain on after the
wheel has been repaired until the system
is reinitialised by a dealer or a qualified
workshop.
The vehicle's electric system allows the
connection of the compressor for long
enough to inflate a tyre after a puncture
repair. Only
the 12 V socket at the front of
the vehicle allows the compressor to be
connected for long enough to repair or
inflate the vehicle tyre.
The other 12 V sockets of the vehicle
are not designed to be used with the
compressor.
Access to the kit Composition of the kit

After about 7 minutes, if a pressure of
2 bars is not reached, this indicates
that the tyre is not repairable; contact a
network dealer or a qualified workshop for
assistance.

network or an authorised waste disposal
site.
Do not forget to obtain a new bottle of
sealant, available from the dealer network
or a qualified workshop.
Do not exceed the speed of 50 mph
(80
km/h) when driving with a tyre repaired
using this type of kit.
Checking/adjusting tyre
pressures
You can also use the compressor,
without injecting sealant, to check and if
necessary adjust the tyre pressures.

emove the valve cap from the tyre and
place it in a clean area.

ncoil the pipe stowed under the
compressor.

witch on the compressor by moving the
switch to the position " I" until the tyre
pressure reaches 2.0 bars. The sealant is
injected under pressure into the tyre; do not
disconnect the hose from the valve during
this operation (risk of splashing).

rive immediately for approximately three
miles (five kilometres), at reduced speed
(between 12 and 37 mph (20 and 60 km/h)),
to plug the puncture.

top to check the repair and measure the
tyre pressure using the kit.

vehicle and can vary according to the level
of equipment.
Do not use them for any other purposes.
The jack should only be used to change
a wheel with a damaged or punctured tyre.
Do not use any jack other than the one
supplied with this vehicle.
If the vehicle does not have its original
jack, contact the dealer network or a
qualified workshop to obtain the correct
jack for it.
The jack meets European standards,
as defined in the Machinery Directive
2006/42/EC.
The jack does not require any
maintenance.
Wheel with trim
When removing the wheel
, first remove
the hub cap using the wheelbrace 1 by
pulling at the valve aperture.
When refitting the wheel , refit the trim,
starting by placing its aperture in line with
the valve and then pushing it into place all
round its edge with the palm of your hand.
With BlueHDi Diesel
If your vehicle has an electric parking brake ,
the jack is stowed in a bag placed in the boot.

ith a "space-saver" spare wheel, lift the
wheel at the rear towards you for access to
the storage box containing the tools.
If your vehicle has a manual parking brake,
the jack is stowed under the spare wheel and
under the storage box:

Access to the spare wheel
The spare wheel is installed in the boot under
t h e f l o o r.
Depending on version, the spare wheel may be
a standard size steel or alloy wheel; for some
countries of sale, it is the "space saver" type.
For access to the spare wheel, first refer to
"Access to the tools" in this section. If your vehicle has an electric parking
brake, only a "space saver" type of wheel
can be stowed in the boot.
Taking out the standard wheel
