Locking the driver's door
F Insert the key in the door lock, then turn it to the rear.
Unlocking
F Insert the key in the door lock, then turn it to the front. If your vehicle has an alarm, it will not be
deactivated/activated on unlocking/locking
the vehicle.
Opening a door will trigger the alarm,
which can be stopped by switching the
ignition on.
Locking the front
passenger door
F Open the door.

emove the cap on the edge of the door.

nsert the key into the latch aperture
(without forcing) and turn the assembly.
F

emove the key and refit the cap.
F
C
lose the door and check from the outside
that it has locked correctly.
For mechanically locking and unlocking the
doors in the event of a fault with the central
locking system or a battery failure.
Anti-theft protection
Electronic engine immobiliser
The remote control contains an electronic chip
which has a secret code. When the ignition is
switched on, this code must be recognised in
order for starting to be possible.
A few seconds after switching off the ignition,
this system locks the engine control system,
therefore preventing the engine from being
started in the event of a break-in.
In the event of a fault, you are
informed by illumination of this
warning lamp, an audible signal and
a message in the screen.
The vehicle will not start; contact a CITROËN
dealer as soon as possible.

Remote control problem
Following disconnection of the vehicle battery,
replacement of the remote control battery or
in the event of a remote control malfunction,
you can no longer unlock, lock or locate your
vehicle.

irst of all, use the key in the door lock to
unlock or lock your vehicle.
F

hen reinitialise the remote control.
If the problem persists, contact a CITROËN
dealer as soon as possible.
Reinitialisation
F Lock the driver's door using the key.

ress one of the remote control
buttons.

nsert the key into the latch aperture on the

the assembly upward.

emove the key.

F Turn the key to position 2 (Ignition on).
F S witch the ignition off and remove the key
from the switch.
The remote control is now fully operational
again.
Changing the battery
If the battery is flat, you will be
informed by lighting of this warning
lamp in the instrument panel, an
audible signal and a message in the
screen.
Battery ref.: CR1620
/ 3 volts.
Do not throw the remote control
batteries away, they contain metals
which are harmful to the environment.
Take them to an approved collection
point.

button until the door has
opened.

button.
It allows the central locking or unlocking of the
vehicle from a distance.
It is also used to locate and start the vehicle, as
well as providing protection against theft.

Locating your vehicle
This function allows you to identify your vehicle
from a distance, particularly in poor light. Your
vehicle must have been locked for more than
five seconds.
Remote operation of
lighting
If fitted to your vehicle.A short press on this button switches
on the lighting remotely (sidelamps,
dipped beam headlamps and number
plate lamps).
A second press on this button before
the end of the timed period cancels
the remote lighting.

Integral key
If the alarm is activated, the audible signal
triggered on opening a door with the key
(integral with the remote control) will stop
when the ignition is switched on.
It is used to lock and unlock the vehicle when
the remote control cannot operate:

Go to a CITROËN dealer, taking with you the
vehicle's registration certificate, your personal
identification documents and if possible, the
label bearing the key code.
The CITROËN dealer will be able to retrieve
the key code and the transponder code
required to order a new key.
Electrical interference
The
K
eyless Entry and Starting remote
control may not operate if close to certain
electronic devices: telephone, laptop
computer, strong magnetic fields, etc.
When purchasing a second-hand vehicle
Have the key codes memorised by a
CITROËN dealer, to ensure that the keys in
your possession are the only ones which can
start the vehicle. Anti-theft protection
Do not make any modifications to the
electronic engine immobiliser system; this
could cause malfunctions.
Do not forget to turn the steering to engage
the steering lock.
Remote control
The high frequency remote control is a
sensitive system; do not operate it while it is
in your pocket as there is a possibility that
it may unlock the vehicle, without you being
aware of it.
Do not repeatedly press the buttons of your
remote control out of range and out of sight
of your vehicle. You may stop it from working
and the remote control would have to be
reinitialised.
The remote control does not operate when
the key is in the ignition, even when the
ignition is switched off.
Locking the vehicle
Driving with the doors locked may make
access to the passenger compartment by
the emergency ser vices more difficult in an
emergency.
As a safety precaution (with children on
board), remove the key from the ignition or
take the remote control with you when leaving
the vehicle, even for a short time.
Changing the battery
Battery type: CR2032 / 3 volts.
T his replacement battery is available from a
CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
A message is displayed in the instrument panel
screen when replacement of the battery is needed.

Tailgate
Opening

and in particular unlocking the vehicle,

fter unlocking the vehicle with the key,
the remote control or the
K
eyless Entry
and Starting, pull the handle, then raise the
tailgate.
Closing
If the tailgate is not fully closed:
-
v
ehicle stationary and the engine running,
this warning lamp comes on, accompanied
by an alert message for a few seconds,
-
v
ehicle moving (speed above 6 mph
(10
km/h)), this warning lamp comes on,
accompanied by an audible signal and an
alert message for a few seconds.

Back-up control
It allows the mechanical unlocking of the
tailgate in the event of a battery or central
locking system malfunction.
Unlocking
F If fitted to your vehicle and if necessary, fold the rear seats to gain access to the lock
from inside.
Locking after closing
If the fault persists after closing again, the
tailgate will remain locked.

ower the tailgate using the interior grab
handle then push it home to fully close it.

nsert a small screwdriver into hole A of the
lock to unlock the tailgate.
