Boost ind icator

The boost indicator is only displayed in the sport
view ¢ page 14 .
The current eng ine load (meaning the current
boost pressure) is indicated by a bar .
Head-up display
Appl ies to: ve hicles with hea d-up d isp lay

The head-up display projects certa in warnings or
selected information from the assist systems * or
nav igation* on the windshield. The d isp lay ap­
pears within the driver's field of vision.
Switching on /off

The height of the display can be adjusted to t he

Display content
In the Infotainment system, you can spec ify
which information sho uld be disp layed: For ex ­
ample, this can include navigation information*,
adaptive cruise contro l* or camera -based tra ffic
s ign recognition *.
The display of ce rtain informa tion and some of
the red indica tor ligh ts cannot be h idden in the
Infotainment system .
Brightness
You can adjust the display br ightness in the Info­
ta inme nt sys tem. The display br igh tness dec reas ­
es autom atically as the amount of lig ht decreas­
es . The bac kg round br ightness is adjusted w ith
the instr ument
illumination ¢ page 49.
Picture rotation
You can rotate the picture in the Infotainment
system cloc kwise or counter clockwise .

To prevent sc ra tches on the glass covering the
head-up display, do not p lac e any objects in
the project ion opening.
(D Tips
- Sunglasses with po larization filte rs and un­
favor able light ing cond itions can have a
negative effect on the disp lay.
- An opt imum d isp lay depends on the sea t
posit io n and the height ad justment of the
head -up disp lay.
- A spec ial windshie ld is needed for the head­
up display funct ion.

Indicator lights
Description
The indicato r lights in the inst rument cluste r
b link or turn on. They ind icate funct ions or mal ­
f u nctions.
Messages may appear with some indicator l ights .
A wa rni ng sig nal w ill so und at the same t ime.
The indicato r lights a nd messages in the instr u­
men t cluster display can be covered by o ther d is ­
p lays. To show t hem again, select the second tab
with the m ultifunction steering wheel
¢ page 12 .
If th ere are seve ral malfunctions, you can display
them one at a time using the thumbwheel.
Some ind icator lights in the disp lay can display in
several colors .

If the. or u indicator light turns on, check
the message in the instrument cluster.
Overview
Some ind icator lights turn on briefly as a function
check whe n you switch the ig nition on . These sys­
tems are marked with a

I f o ne of these indicato r lights does not turn on,

Your ve hicle has either a monochrome display or
a mu lticolored display, depend ing o n ve hicle
eq uipment. Some indicato r lights appear wh ite

Cockpit overview

The. indicator light stays on unt il the driver's
and front passenger's safety belts a re fastened.
Above a certain speed, there will also be a warn ­
ing tone.

0 Generator/vehicle battery
If the . or(•) indicator light turns on, there is a
malfunction in the generator or the vehicle elec­
tr ica l system .
• Electrical system: malfunction! Safely stop
vehicle
Do not continue driving and switch the engine
off. See an authorized Audi dea le r or aut horized
Audi Service Facility for assistance .
(•) Electrical system: malfunction! Restart not
possible. Please contact Service
The vehicle battery was disconnected from the
veh icle elect rical system and will no longer
charge . Drive to an authorized Aud i dealer or au­
thorized Audi Service Facility immediately.
Do not stop the engine, or you will not be able to
start it aga in . If you can no longer start the en­
g in e, see an authorized Aud i dealer or autho rized
Aud i Service Facility for assistanc e.
(•) F.lectrical system: malfunction! Please con­
tact Service
Drive to an authorized Aud i dea ler or authorized
Aud i Serv ice Facility immediately . Because the ve­
h icle battery is d ischarg ing, turn off all unneces­
sary electr ical equipment such as the radio. See
an authorized Audi dealer or authorized Audi
Service Facility if the battery charge level is too
low.
(•) Electrical system: low battery charge. Bat­
tery will be charged while driving
The start ing ability may be impaired.

If this message turns off after a little whi le, the
vehicle battery charged enoug h while driving.
If the message does not turn off and stay off
whe n driving, have an authorized Aud i dealer or
authorized Audi Service Facility repair the mal­
function .
~ Engine oil pressure
• Turn off engine. Oil pressure too low
Stop the engine and do not continue driving.
Check the engine oi l level
~ page 317.
- If the eng ine oil level is too low, add engi ne oil
¢ page 317 . Only continue driving once the in­
dicator light turns off .
- I f the engine oil level is correct and the indica­
tor light still turns on, turn the engine off and
do not continue driving. See an authorized Audi
dealer or authorized Audi Service Facility for as­
sistance.
(D Tips
T he oil pressure warn ing is not an oil leve l in ­
dicator. Always check the oil leve l regularly.

Cockpit overview
Due to a system ma lf u nction, your vehicle's
ground clearance is very low at the front or rear
axle* (in veh icles with all -whee l steering) . Be­
cause of this, the wheels no longer have enough
clearance to steer correctly.
See an authorized Audi dealer or authorized Audi
Service Facility for assistance.
• Air suspension: malfunction! You can con­
tinue driving slowly. Speed limited to max.
