The ro ute calcu lated by the navigation system
is a recommendation for reaching your desti­
nation. Obey traffic lights, stopping restric­
tions, one-way streets, lane change restric­
tions, etc.

dicates that the information about this street
or this section of the route is not complete in
the navigation data that the MMI contains.
Obey traffic laws in one-way streets and pe­
destr ian zones.

When you open the drive r's door, the date and
time appear in the display for 30 seconds . When
the ignition is switched on, the time is a lways dis­
played in the status line © regardless of the cur­
rent d isplay.

- Do not leave valuables unattended in t he ve­
hicle . A locked vehicle is not a safe!
- The LED in the driver 's door rail blinks when
you lock the vehicle . If the LED lights up for
approximately 30 seconds after locking,
there is a ma lfunction in the central locking
system. Have the problem corrected by an
authorized Audi dealer or authorized Audi
Service Fac ility.

Rep lacing a ke y
If a key is lost, see an authorized Audi dealer or
authorized Audi Service Facility. Have this key de­
activated . It is important to bring all keys with
you .
If a key is lost, you should report it to your
insurance company .
Number of keys
You can check the number of keys ass igned to
your veh icle in the Infotainment system. Select:

This way, you can make sure that you have all the
keys when purchasing a used vehicle.
Electronic immobilizer
The immobilizer p revents unauthorized use of
the ve hicle.
Under certain circumstances, the vehicle may not
be able to start if there is a key from a d ifferent
vehicle manufacturer on the key chain .
Data in the master ke y
When driving, service and maintenance-relevant
data is cont inuous ly stored in your remote con ­
trol key . Your A udi se rvice advisor can read out
th is data and tell you abo ut the work yo ur vehicle
needs . T his applies also to veh icles w ith a con­
venience key *.
Personal convenience sett ings
If two people use one vehicle, it is recommended
that each person always uses their own remote contro l key. When the ignit io n is tu rned off or
whe n the vehicle is lo cked, pe rsonal convenience
settings for the following systems a re stored and
ass igned to the remote master key .

A lways take the vehicle key with you when
leaving the vehicle, even for a short period of
time. This applies particularly when child ren
rema in in the vehicle . Otherwise the children

The speed warning system helps you to stay un­
der a specified maximum speed.
The speed warning system warns you if you are
exceeding the maximum speed that you have set.
A warning tone will sound as soon as your speed
exceeds the stored value slightly.
The. (USA models)/ . (Canada models) indi­
cator light and a message appear in the instru­
ment cluster display at the same time. The
•
• indicator light and the message turn off if the
speed falls back below the stored maximum
speed.
Setting a threshold is recommended if you would like to be reminded when you reach a certain
maximum speed. Situations where you may want
to do so include driving in a country with a gener­
al speed limit or if there is a specified maximum
speed for winter tires.
Setting the warning threshold
The warning threshold is set in the Infotainment
system.

warning.

Regardless of the speed warning system, you
should always monitor your speed using the
speedometer and make sure you are following
the legal speed limit.

The cruise control system makes it possible to
drive at a constant speed starting at 20 mph (30
km/h).

This information is also shown briefly in the

The speed is maintained by modifying engine
power or through an active brake intervention.
_.&. WARNING
-
-Always pay attention to the traffic around
you when the cruise control system is in op ­
eration. You are always responsible for your
speed and the distance between your vehi­
cle and other vehicles.
-For safety reasons, cruise control should not
be used in the city, in stop-and-go traffic, on
winding roads and when road conditions are poor (such as ice, fog, gravel, heavy rain and
hydroplaning), because this increases the
risk of an accident.
-Switch the cruise control off temporarily
when driving in turning lanes, highway exits or in construction zones.

The adaptive c ruise co ntro l system is a comb ina­
tion of speed and d ist ance regula tion. It assists
the dr iver by bot h regula ting the speed and
maintaining a distance to the vehicle driving
ahead , within the limits of the system . If the sys­
tem detects and object ahead, adaptiv e cruis e
control can brake and acce lerate your vehicle.
Th is makes driving more comfortable both on
long stretches of highway and in stop-and-go
traffic .
What can adaptive crui se contr ol do?
The adaptive cruise contro l system uses video, ra ­
dar and ultraso und. Objects driving ahead can be
recogni zed up to 650 feet (200 m) away.
On open roads with no traffic , it functions like a
cru ise control system . T he stored speed is ma in­
tained. When approaching an object ahead, the
adapt ive cruise con trol system automatically
brakes to match that object's speed and then
maintains the stored d istance. As soon as the
sys tem does not detect a n object ahead, adaptive
cru ise con trol acce lera tes up to the stored speed .
In stop-and -go traff ic, adaptive cru ise control can
brake unt il the vehicle is s tat io nary and then be­
g in d riving aga in under certain conditions

Aud i braking guard can warn you about an im ­
pending col lision and initiate braking maneuve rs
