partmen t lid as well as the vehicle doo rs
closed when not in use.
- Never close the l uggage compartment lid
ina ttentively or without checking first . Al­
though the closing force of the l uggage
compartment lid is limited, you can still se­
riously injure yourself or others.
- Always ensure that no one is within range of
the luggage compartment lid when it is
moving, in particular close to the hinges and
the upper and lower edges
-fingers or
hands can be pinched.
- Never try to interfere w ith the luggage com­
partment lid or help it when it is being
opened or closed automatically .

- The settings in the Infotainment system de­
termine if the luggage compartment lid can be opened us ing the handle

- When the vehicle is locked, the luggage
compartment lid can be unlocked separately by pressing the
l .::s l button on the remote
control key. The luggage compartment lid l ocks automatically when it is closed again .
- You can close the luggage compartment lid
us ing the remote control key (veh icles w ith
convenience key*) up to a d istance of ap­
p rox imately 9 feet (3 m).
- The luggage compartment lid can be oper­
ated manually if the veh icle battery is low.
It is necessary to use more force when doing
th is. Move the lid slowly to red uce the
amount of force needed.

o r tempora rily unavailable . T his may happen if:
- the luggage compartment lid was closed imme ­
diately before .
- you park close to a hedge and the branches
move back and forth under the veh icle for a

- you clean your veh icle, for example with a pres ­
sure washer or in a car wash
- there is heavy ra in
- the bumper is very dirty, for example after d riv-
ing on salt-covered roads

Garage door opener (Homelink)

W ith the garage door opener (Homel ink), you
can activate systems such as the garage doors,
security systems or house lights from ins ide your
vehicle. Three buttons are integrated in the head­
liner that can be programmed to up to three re­
mote controls.
To be able to operate systems using the garage
door opener, the buttons in the headliner must
first be programmed .
A WARNING
When operating or programming the garage
door opener, make sure that no people or ob­
jects are in the area immediately surrounding
the equipment. People can be injured or prop­ erty can be damaged if struck when closing.

Headlight assist: System fault
Drive to an authorized Aud i dea ler or authorized
Audi Service Fac ility immediately to have the
malfunction corrected. You can still switch the
high beams on or off manually.
Headlight assist: Unavailable No camera view
The camera view is blocked, for example by a
sticker or debris .
The sensor is located between the interior rear­
view mirror and the windshield. Do not place any
stickers in this area on the windshield.

High beam assistant is only intended to assist
the driver. The driver is still respons ible for
controlling the headlights and switching
them manually depend ing on light and visibil­
it y conditions. It may be necessary to operate
them manually in situations such as:
- I n adverse weather conditions such as fog,
heavy rain, blowing snow or spraying water.
- On roads where oncom ing traffic may be
pa rtiall y obscured, such as expressways.
- When there are road users that do not have
sufficient lighting, such as b icyclers or
vehicles with dirty tail lamps.
- I n tight curves and on steep hills.
- In poorly lit areas.
- With strong reflectors, such as signs.
- If the area of the w indshield near the sensor
is fogged over, dirty, icy or covered with a
sticker .
Adjusting the exterior lighting
The functions are adjusted in the Infotainment
system.

Automatic headlights
You can adjust the following sett ings in the Au­
tomatic headlights
menu:
Headlights activation time -you can adjust if the
headlights switch on
Early, Medium or Late ac­
cording to the sensitivity of the light sensor.
Auto-dimming high beams* -you can switch the
high beam assistant*
On and Off .
Daytime running lights*
USA models :
the daytime running lights can be
switched on/off. Select
On or Off.
Canada models:
this function cannot be switched
off. They activate automatically each time the ig -
nition is switched on .

Retracting the rear door sunshades*
~ To re tract the sunshade from the driver's seat,
press the left/right rear power window switch
~ in the driver's door.
~ To retract the sunshade from the rear of the
vehicle,
press the power window switch Q;;; in
the left/right rear door.
You can adjust the settings for the rear sunshade
so the shade retracts automatically when you se­
lect the reverse gear. Select:
CAR function button
> Car systems control button > Vehicle settings
> Automatic rear blind > On. The settings are au ­
tomatically stored and assigned to the remote
control key. T he sunshade is extended again as
soon as the vehicle is traveling forward at a speed
greater than 9 mph (15 km/h) if the ignition has
not been switched off in the meantime .
&_ WARNING
Always pay careful attention when closing the
sunshades. Pinching could cause serious inju­
ries.
@ Tips
- Pressing the l~•~l button several times in a
r ow can trigger the overload protection. The
sunshade can on ly be extended/retracted
again after a brief waiting period.
- The rear window sunshade only functions
when the vehicle interior is warmer than
14°F (-10°().
Vanity mirror in the rear

Move the windshield w iper lever to the corre­
sponding posit ion:
@ -Windshield wipers off
G)-Rain sensor mode. The windshield wipers
switch on once the vehicle speed exceeds approx­
imately 2 mph (4 km/h) and it is raining. The
higher the sensitivity of the rain sensor that is set
(switch @to the right), the earlier the wind­
shield wipers react to mo isture on the wind­
shield. You can deact ivate the rain sensor mode
i n the Infotainment system, which sw itches the
i ntermittent mode on. Se lect:

> Rain sensor> Off. In intermittent mode,
you can adjust the interval time using the switch

@ -Slow wiping
@ -Fast w iping
@ -Single wipe. If you hold the lever in this posi­
tion longer, the wipers switch from slow wiping
to fast wiping.
®-Clean the windshield. The wipers wipe one
time after several seconds of driving to remove
water droplets. You can sw itch this function off
by moving the lever to posit ion ® within
10 sec­
onds of the afterwipe . The afterwipe function is

on.
C lea n the head lights. The headlight washer sys ­
tem operates only when the low beam headlights
are switched on . If you move the lever to position
@ , the headlights and the night vision assist
camera* are cleaned at intervals .
A WARNING
-The rain sensor is only intended to assist the
dr iver. The driver may still be responsible
for manually sw itching the w ipers on based
on v is ib il ity conditions.
-The w indshie ld may not be treated with wa­
ter-repell ing windsh ield coating agents . U n­
favorable conditions, such as wetness, dark­ ness, and whe n the s un is low, can cause in­
cr eased g la re, which in cre ases the risk of a n
acc iden t. W iper blade ch atter is also poss i­
ble.

-If there is frost, make s ure t he windsh ie ld
wiper b la d es are not frozen to the wind ­
s h ield. Switching on the windshield wipers
when the blades are frozen to the wind­ s h ield can damage the wiper blades.
-Prior to using a car was h, the windshield
wiper system must be switched off (lever in
pos ition @). This prevents the wipers from
switching on un intent ionally and causing
damage to the w indshie ld w iper system .

-The windshield wipe rs switch off when the
i gnition is sw itched off. You can act ivate the
winds hield wipers after the ig nition is
switched back on by moving the winds hield
wiper leve r to any pos it ion .
-Worn or dirty w indshield wiper blades result
i n streak ing . This can affec t the ra in se nsor
f u nct ion . Check yo ur windsh ield wipe r
b lades regu lar ly.
Light s and Vision
-The washer fluid no zz les for the windshield
washer system are heated at low tempera­
tures when the ign ition is on .
-When stopping temporari ly, such as at a
traffic light, the speed of the windshield
w ipers automatica lly reduces by one level.
Cleaning the wiper blades
Clean the wiper b lades when you see w iper
streaks. Clea n the wiper blades with a soft towel
and glass cleaner .
