Displaying tire pressures/temperatures
Applies to: vehicles with tire pressure monitoring system
Requirement: the ign ition must be switched on.
.,. Select : the ICARI function button > Car systems
> Service & control> Tire pressure monitor>
Display tire pressure .
The current tire pressures are shown in green and
yellow numbers in the Infotainment system:
- Green: the current tire pressure and the speci­
fied tire pressure are approximately the same.
- Yellow: the current tire pressure is too low
compared to the specified tire pressure.
The specified tire pressure is the last tire pres­
sure that was stored

Note that the tire pressure also depends on the
temperature of the tire. The tire pressure in­
creases as the engine becomes warmer while
driving.

If the (D] indicator light turns on, the pressure in
at least one tire is too low or new sensors were
not adapted:
RE indicator lights turns on after turning the
ignition on
The tire pressure is too low compared to the
specified pressure.
.,. Check and store the tire pressure(s) the next
time it is possible

Wheels with new sensors were not adapted or
the tire pressure has reached a critical level com­
pared to the specified pressure.
.,. Avoid unnecessary steering and braking maneu-
vers.
.,. Adapt your driving sty le to the situation.
.,. Stop as soon as possible and check the tire(s).
.,. If it is possible to continue driving, see an au-
thorized Audi dealer or authorized Audi Service
Facility immediately and have your tire(s) re­
paired or replaced.

Storing new tire pressures
Applies to: vehicles with tire pressure mon itoring system
Correctly stored tire pressure specifications are
necessary for reliable tire pressure monitoring.

Only correct the pressure in tires
whose temperature is approximately the same
as the ambient temperature. If the tempera­
ture of the tire is higher than the ambient air
temperature, the tire pressure must be in­
creased approximately 3 PSI (0,2 bar) above
the value on the sticker .

-Only wash the vehicle when the ignition is
off and follow the instructions from the ca r
was h operator to reduce the risk of acci­
dents.
-T o red uce the risk of cuts, protect yourself
from sha rp metal components when wash­
ing the underbody or the inside of t he wheel
hous ings .
-After wash ing the vehicle, the brak ing effect
may be delayed due to mo isture on the
brake rotors or ice in the w inter . This in­
c reases the risk of an acc ide nt. The bra kes
mus t be d rie d first w ith a few careful brake
app lic at ions.

-If yo u wash t he veh icle in an automatic car
wash, yo u m ust retract the rear spoi ler if
necessa ry, and fold the exte rior m irrors i n

Care and cleaning
-To re duce the risk of pa int damage, do not

-Mat te finish painted veh icle components :
-To reduce the risk of damage to t he sur-
face, do not use po lish ing agents o r hard
wax.
-Neve r use protective wax. It can destroy
the matte finish effect .
-Do not place any st ickers or magnetic
s igns on vehicle parts painted w ith matte
finish paint . The paint cou ld be damaged
when the stickers or magne ts are re ­
m oved.

Only wash the veh icle in facili ties s pec ia lly de­
s igned for tha t pur pose . This will reduce the
r isk of di rty wate r cont ami nated with o il from
ente rin g t he sewe r sys tem.

The windsh ie ld may not be treated with wa ­
ter-repelling windshield coating agents. Un ­
favorable conditions such as wetness, dark ­
ness, or low sun can result in increased glare .
Wiper blade chatter is also possible.

- Headlights /tail light s
-Never clean headlights or tail lights with a
dry clot h or sponge.
- Do not use any cleaning product that con­
tains alcohol, because they could cause
cracks to form .
-Wheels

- Never use any pa int polish or other abra­
sive materials .
- Damage to the protect ive layer o n the
rims such as stone ch ips or scratches must
be repaired immediately .
-Cam era lenses
- Neve r use warm or hot wa ter to remove
snow or ice from the camera lens . This
could ca use the lens to crack .
- Neve r use ab rasive cleaning m ate rials or
a lcohol to clean the camera lens . This
could ca use scratches and cracks .
-Door window s
-Remove snow and ice on windows and ex-
terior mirrors w ith a plast ic scraper . To

Emergency situations
@ Tips
The discharged battery must be properly con­
nected to the vehicle's electrical system .
When jump starting or charging the battery,
never connect the negative ground cable to
the battery negative post because the battery
manager system must be able to detect the
battery's state of charge. Always connect the
negat ive g round cable to the negative ground
post of the battery manager control unit.
Use of jumper cables
Make sure to connect the jumper cable clamps in
exactly the order described below!

The procedure described below for connecting
jumper cables is intended to provide a jump start
for your veh icle.
Vehicle with discharged battery:
• Turn off lights and accessories, move lever of
automatic transmission to N (Neutral) or P (Park) and set park ing brake.

• Open the red cover on the positive terminal

1. Connect one end of the red positive cable on
the
jump start bolt ~ fig. 212@ (bolt under
the red cover= "positive") of the vehicle to be
started @.
2. Connect the other end to the positive termi-
nal @of the booster battery @.
Connect NEGATIVE(-) to NEGATIVE(-)
(black)
3. Connect one end of the black negative cable
to the negative terminal @ of the booster
battery @.
4. Connec t the other end to the
jump start pin
@ (bolts with hex head bolt= "negative") of
the vehicle to be started @.
Starting the engine
• Start the eng ine of the vehicle with the booster
battery @. Run the eng ine at a moderate
speed.
• Sta rt engine w ith discharged vehicle battery@
in the usual manner.
• If the engine fails to start, do not keep the
starter cranking for longer than 10 seconds.
Wait for about 30 seconds and then try again.
• With engine running, remove jumper cables
from both veh icles in the exact
reverse order.
• Close the red cover on the pos itive terminal.
The battery is vented to the outside to prevent
gases from entering the vehicle interior . Make
sure that the jumper clamps are well connected
with their metal parts in full contact w ith the
battery terminals.
A WARNING
To avoid serious personal injury and damage
to the vehicle, heed all warnings and instruc­
tions of the jumper cable manufacturer. If in
doubt, call for road service .
- Jumper cables must be long enough so that
the vehicles do not touch.
- When connecting jumper cables, make sur e
that they cannot get caug ht in any moving
pa rts in the engine compartment.
