Your vehicle has cup holders in the front center
console, in the door pockets, in the rear bench
seat* and/or in the rea r cente r console*.
Rear cup holders*
~ Fold the center armrest* downward.
~ T o open the cup holders, press inward on the
trim @.
~ To place the beverage container in the c up
holder, pus h the arm @ outward.

~ Then push the arm against the beverage con­
tainer so that the arm lies closely against it.
~ To close the cup holders, push them back into
the slot.
A WARNING
-
- Do not put any hot beverages in the cup
holder while the vehicle is moving . Hot bev ­
erages could spill, wh ic h increases the risk
of injury.
- Do not use any breakable beverage contain­
ers (for example, made out of glass or por­ celain). You cou ld be injured by them in the
event of an accident .
CD Note
Beverage containers in the cup holders should
always have a lid. If not, beverages could sp ill
and cause damage to vehicle equipment, such
electronics or seat covers.

Warm and cold
driver 's side is transferred to the front passeng ­
er's side. This applies a temperature change to
the front passenger 's side .
8/r Blower
Using the regu lator 8f?, you ca n manually adjust
the vo lume of a ir generated by the blower to your
p reference . The blowe r shou ld always run at a
low setting to prevent the windows from fogging
and to ensure a continuous exchange of air inside
t he vehicle . To h ave the blower regu lated au to­
mat ically , press the AUTO button.
~/ :01 ~ Air distribution
The air distribution can adjusted with t he but ­
tons. To have the air distribution regulated auto­ matica lly, press the AU TO button.
The round air vents in t he cockpit are adjustable
q page 71 .
To keep the front s ide windows from fogging up
in damp weathe r, we recommend opening the
side air vents and tilting them to the side .
Foot vents are located under the front seats and
adjustab le vents o n the end of t he center console
t o heat the re ar of the vehicle .
3fx Defrosting
The windshield and s ide windows are defrosted
or cleared of condensation as qu ickly as possible .
The max imum amo unt of air flows ma inly from
the vents below the w indshield. Recircu lation
mode switches off. The temper ature s hou ld be
set at +72°F (22°() or higher. The temperat ure is
controlled automatica lly. In the
;Ix setting, the
A/C cooling mode switches on a utomatically , de­
pending on the outside air temperature.
The A UTO button switches the defroster off.
~ Recirculation mode
The recircu lation mode can be turned on manua l­
ly or automat ica lly*.

The air
quality sensor that is designed for d iesel and
gasoline exhaust automatically sw itches the re­
circulation mode on or off depending on the level of pollutants in the o utside air.
In rec irculat ion mode, the air inside the vehicle is
c ir culated and filte red . T his prevents the unfil­
te red air outs ide t he ve hicle from enteri ng the
vehicle inte rior. Switching rec irculat io n mode on
whe n driving throug h a tu nnel o r whe n sitting in
traffic is recommended

T he system switches to recirculation mode when
driv ing in reverse when the engine is cold .
SP. Rear window defogger
If the rear window defogger is act ivated when
the ignit ion is swi tched on, the battery manage­
ment determines based on the battery charge if
i t is possible to turn on . Otherwise, the rear w in ­
dow defogger funct ions w it h the eng ine runni ng
and switches off automat ically after approxi­
mately 1 0 - 20 m inutes, depending on the out­
s ide temperat ure.
To p reve nt the rear window defogger from
switching off automat ica lly, press and hold the
!fP. button for more tha n two seconds. This re ­
mai ns sto red up to approxim ate ly lS m in utes af ­
te r turning off the ignition.
J Seat heating*
P ressing the J button switches the seat heat ing
o n at t he hi ghest sett ing (level 3) . The L EDs ind i­
c a te the temperat ure level. To reduce the tem ­
per atu re , press t he button again . T o swi tc h t he
seat heating off, press the bu tton repeatedly un­
ti l the LED turns off .
After approximate ly 10 m inu tes, the sea t heat ing
a utomat ic all y switches from leve l 3 to leve l 2.

If the Start/Stop system has not turned off the
engine or if you have switched the Start/Stop sys­
tem off manually, the ignition will not be auto­ mat ically switched off and the engine w ill contin­
ue to run

If you select the "D" or "N" selector lever pos i­
tion in a veh icle with an automatic transmis­
sion after shifting into reverse, the vehicle

Conditions for electric driving

The EV mode ca n only be switched o n if the fol­
l ow ing condit ions are met:
- The charge level of the high-voltage battery
must be sufficient .
- The temperature of the high-voltage battery
must be adequate (outside temperatures not

- The speed must not be h igher than approxi -
mate ly
80 mph (130 km/h) .
- Kick -down must not be activated .
- The sport drive mode "S " must not be selected .
EV mode is switched off if one or more of the

Assistance systems
-The rear cross-traffic assist will not provide
alerts if the veh icle is in a paralle l parking
space or an angled parking space.

-You can cancel the automa tic brake activa ­
tion with increasing braking force if you ap­
ply the brakes yourse lf or accelerate consid ­
erab ly.
- In some situations, rear cross-traffic assist
may warn you even if there is no cross traffic
i n a critical area, for example when backing
i nto a parking space or maneuver ing.
- The rear cross-traffic assist also switches off when you switch off the ESC.
- The system is not available when towing a
trailer.

Audi drive select
Introduction
App lies to : vehicles wi th Audi drive se lec t
Audi drive select makes it poss ible to experience
different types of vehicle settings in one vehicle.
The dr iver can select from three modes,
Comfort ,
Auto
and Dynamic , using the ~.'/:.1 button in the
center console or by using the Infotainment sys­
tem. This allo ws you to switch between a sporty
and a comfo rtable driving mode, for example. In
the
Individual* mode, the settings can be adjust ­
ed to your personal preferences . This makes it
possible to comb ine settings such as a sporty en­
gine setting with light steering.
Description
Applies to: vehicles wit h Audi drive se lect
The vehicle setup in each mode depends on the
vehicle 's features. However, the engine and
steering are a lways affected .

Parking aid
Sensors are located in the front and rear bump­
ers . If these detect an obstacle, audible and visu­
al signals warn you.
M ake sure the sensors are not covered by stick­
ers, deposits or any other obstructions as it may
impair the function of the system. For informa­
tion on cleaning, see
~ page 354.

The closer you get to the obstacle, the shorter
the interva l between the audible signals. A con­
tinuous tone sounds when the obstacle is less
than approximately 1 foot (0.30 meters) away .

If the distance to an obstacle remains constant,
the vol ume of the distance warning gradually
lowers after a few seconds until it is muted (this
is not apply in the continuous tone range).
If the
obstacle becomes closer than it was before the
sound was muted, the tone w ill sound again. If
the obstacle is farther away than it was before
the sound was muted, no tone will sound. Pay at­
tention to the vehicle's su rroundings whe n you
start to drive.

Switching on/off

short confirmation tone sounds and the LED in
the button turns on.
Switching on automatically
The system switches on automatically when re­
verse gea r is engaged wh ile the engine is run­
ning. A brief confirmation tone will so und .
If Activate automatically is switched on in the
Infotainment system and if the vehicle ap­
proaches an obstacle at speeds under approxi­
mately 6 mph (10 km/h), the parking aid will
switch on automatically . Audible signals wi ll
sound once the obstacle is within the sensor de­
tection area.
Switching off automatically
The system switches off automatically when driv­
i ng fo rward faster than 6 mph (10 km/h).
Segments in the visual display
The segments in front of and behind the vehicle
~ fig. 147 he lp you to determine the distance be­
tween yo ur vehicle and an obstacle . The red
lin es* mark the expected direction of travel ac­
cording to the steering angle. A white segment
indicates an identified obstacle that is outside of
the vehicle's path . Red segments show identified
obstacles that are in your veh icle's path. As your
vehicle comes closer to the obstacle, the seg­
ments move closer to the vehicle . The collision
area has been reached when the ne xt to last seg ­
ment is d isplayed . Obstacles in the coll is ion area,
i nclud ing those outside of the vehicle's path, are
shown in red. Do not continue driving forward or
..,.

Parking aid
-Only use the rearview camera to assist you if
it shows a good, clear picture. For example,
the image may be affected by the sun shin­
ing into the lens, d irt on the lens, or if there
is a malfunction .
- Use the rearview camera only if the luggage
compartment lid is completely closed . If the
luggage compartment lid is open the orien­
tation lines and blue surfaces are hidden .
Make su re any objects you may have mount­
ed on the luggage compa rtment lid do not
block the rearview camera.
- T he came ra lens enlarges and distorts the
field of v is ion. Th e object appears both al­
tered and inaccurate on the screen.
- In certai n situations, people or objects in
the d isplay appear closer or farthe r away:
- For objects that do not touch the ground,
such as the bumper of a parked vehicle, a
trailer hitch or the rear of a truck . Do not
use the orientation lines in this case .
- If driven from a level surface onto an in­
cline, o r a downward slope.
- If driven toward protrud ing objects.
- If the veh icle is carry ing too much load in
the rear.
- Always read and follow the applicable warn­
ings ¢(!) in General information on
page 143 .
-The orange-colored orientation lines in the
Infotainment display show the vehicle path
based on the steering wheel angle . The
front of the vehicle swings out more than
the rear of the veh icle. Mainta in plenty of
distance so that an exterio r mirror or a cor­
ner of the vehicle does not co llide w ith any
obstacles.
