• Child restraint anchorages are designed to withstand only those loads imposed bycorrectly fitted child restraints. Under nocircumstances are they to be used foradult seat belts or harnesses. The ancho-rages are not able to withstand excessiveforces on them in the event of collision iffull harness seat belts or adult seat beltsare installed to them. An adult who uses abelt anchored in a child restraint anchor-age runs a great risk of suffering severeinjuries should a collision occur.
• Do not install rear speakers that requirethe removal of the top tether anchors orinterfere with the proper use of the toptether strap.

Integrated booster cushion
*
Volvo's optional integrated booster cushion is located in the rear seat's center position and isdesigned to raise the child higher so that theshoulder strap crosses over the child's collar-bone, not over the neck.
Integrated booster cushion 2This booster cushion has been specially designed to help safeguard children in the rearseat. It should be stowed (folded down into theseat cushion) when not in use. When using anintegrated booster cushion, the child must besecured with the vehicle's three-point seat belt. If using a booster cushion does not result in proper positioning of the shoulder strap, then thechild should be placed in a properly secured childrestraint. The shoulder belt must never be placedbehind the child's back or under the arm. Use only with children who weigh between 33 and 80 pounds (15 – 36 kg) and whose height isbetween 38 and 54 inch (97 – 137 cm). In Canada
: 18 kg (40 lbs) is the minimum
weight requirement for a child using booster seats according to the Canadian regulationCMVSS 213.4

Trip computer The trip computer registers and calculates infor- mation such as distance driven, fuel consump-tion and average speed. This information is dis-played in the instrument panel.
To help promote fuel efficient driving, the trip computer provides readings for current and aver-age fuel consumption. The trip computer includes the following gauges:
• Trip odometers
• Odometer
• Current fuel consumption
• Distance to empty
• Tourist (alternative speedometer)
Trip odometerThere are two trip odometers: TM and TA. During a drive, the trip odometer registers:
• Mileage
• Driving time
• Average speed
• Average fuel consumption
The values displayed are those since the lasttime the trip odometer was reset.
OdometerThe odometer registers the vehicle's total mile-age and cannot be reset.
Current fuel consumptionThis gauge shows the current fuel consumption.This reading is updated once a second.
Distance to emptyThis function shows the approximate distancethat can be driven on the fuel remaining in thetank. The calculation is based on average fuel con- sumption during the last 20 miles (30 km) ofdriving and the amount of fuel remaining in thetank. When the gauge displays "----", there is very little useable fuel remaining in the tank; refuel as soonas possible.

Distance to discharged batteryThis gauge shows the approximate dis-tance that can be driven on the chargeremaining in the hybrid battery.
When the gauge displays "----" there is no guar- anteed driving charge remaining in the battery. This calculation is based on the average electrical current consumption in a normally loaded vehicleduring normal driving, and whether the A/C is on or off. Changing drive modes from
Hybrid toPure may increase the calculated distance to a
discharged battery since Pure mode reduces
certain climate system functions. An economical driving style will generally increase this distance.
Distance using the electric motor
To get the optimal driving distance using the electric motor, it is essential to conserve current.Functions that use a great deal of current (e.g.,audio system, electrical heating in the steeringwheel/door mirrors/rear window/seats, very coldair from the climate system, etc.) reduce the pos-sible driving distance.
NOTE
In addition to high electrical consumption in the passenger compartment, fast accelera-tion, sudden braking, heavy loads, low ambienttemperatures and driving up hills can reducethe possible driving distance.
Tourist (alternative speedometer)This is an alternative digital speedometer can be used when driving in areas in which the speedlimit is listed in a different unit of measure. If the speedometer is in mph, this gauge will show the
vehicle's speed in km/h and vice versa.

Climate system voice commands Voice commands can be used to control the cli- mate system to e.g., change the temperature, activate seat heating * or change blower (fan)
speed.
To use the voice control system, press the on the right-side steering wheel keypad and say one of the following commands after the tone:

Climate": starts a command dialog and
provides examples of commands that can be used.

Set temperature to X degrees": sets the
desired temperature.

The passenger compartment lighting is con- trolled using the buttons in the ceiling above thefront and rear seats.
All passenger compartment lighting can be turned on and off manually within 30 minutesafter:
• the vehicle is unlocked but the engine hasnot been started
• the engine is switched off and the ignition is in mode

Activate the automatic function by briefly press- ing the AUTO button in the ceiling console. The
indicator light in the button will illuminate. WithAUTO activated, the courtesy lighting will switch
on and off as follows: The courtesy lighting: • comes on when the vehicle is unlocked and when the ignition is switched off
• goes off when the engine is started andwhen the vehicle is locked
• comes on or goes off when one of the sidedoors is opened or closed
• remains on for 2 minutes if a side door is leftopen

Adjusting the steering wheel
The steering wheel can be adjusted to various positions.

Never adjust the steering wheel while driving.

Adjusting the steering wheel
To adjust the steering wheel:
1. Push the lever downward/forward to release the steering wheel.
2. Adjust the steering wheel to a suitable posi- tion.
3. Pull back the lever to lock the steering wheel in place. If the lever is difficult to pull into place, press the steering wheel lightly at thesame time as you pull the lever.

Seats
The vehicle is equipped with 7 seats. The front seats can be adjusted electronically * or man-
ually. The second and third row seats are adjusted primarily manually.
The adjustment settings for the power front seats *, door mirrors and the head-up display can
be stored in memory buttons. Using the multi-function control *, comfort in the
front seats can be further enhance by e.g., adjust- ing the lumbar support or extending the length ofthe front seat cushion. The rear seats can be folded down and their head restraints can be adjusted. The second rowseats can be moved forward/rearward and theirbackrest tilt can also be changed.
