Audio system
Making a call
Display the phone screen. (→P. 383)
Select the “Dial Pad” tab and enter a phone number.
To delete the input phone number, select .
For the first digit, you can enter “+” by selecting “ ∗” for a while.
Press the switch on the steering wheel or select .
You can dial a number from the contact data imported from your cellu-
lar phone. The system has one contac t list for each registered phone.
Up to 2500 contacts may be stored in each contact list.
Display the phone screen. ( →P. 383)
Select “Contacts” tab.
Choose the desired contact to call from the list.
Choose the number and then press the switch on the steering
wheel or select .
You can transfer the phone numbers in a Bluetooth
® phone to the sys-
tem.
Operation methods differ between P BAP (Phone Book Access Profile)
compatible and PBAP incompatible Bluetooth
® phones. If the cellular
phone does not support either PB AP or OPP (Object Push Profile)
service, you cannot transfer contacts.
Once a Bluetooth® phone is registered, you can make a call
using the following procedure:

Speaking on the phone
Select “-” or “+”. You can also adjust the volume using the steering
switches or the volume knob.
Select “Mute”.
When using phone services such as an answering service or a bank,
you can store phone numbers and c ode numbers in the contact list.
Select “0-9”.
Input the number.
■Release Tones
“Release Tones” appear when a c ontinuous tone signal(s) contain-
ing a (w) is registered in the contact list.
Select “Release Tones”.
The following screen is displayed when speaking on the phone.

■Release Tones
●A continuous tone signal is a character string that consists of numbers and
the characters p or w. (e.g.056133w0123p#1 ∗)
● When the “p” pause tone is used, the tone data up until the next pause tone
will be automatically sent after 2 seconds have elapsed. When the “w”
pause tone is used, the tone data up until the next pause tone will be a\
uto-
matically sent after a user operation is performed.
● Release tones can be used when automated operation of a phone based
service such as an answering machine or bank phone service is desired. A
phone number with continuous tone signals can be registered in the contact
list.
● Tone data after a “w” pause tone can be operated on voice command during
a call.
Turn the “Handset mode” on to switch from a hands-free call to a cel-
lular phone call.
Turn the “Handset mode” off to switch from a cellular phone call to a
hands-free call.
Select “Transmit Volume”.
Select the desired level for the transmit volume.
Select “OK”.
Press the switch on the steering wheel or select .

When registering/connecting a cellular phone
When making/receiving a call
A cellular phone cannot be registered.
An incorrect passcode was entered on the cellular phone.
→Enter the correct passcode on the cellular phone.
The registration operation has not been completed on the cellular phone
side.
→Complete the registration operation on the cellular phone (approve
registration on the phone).
Old registration information remains on either this system or the cellular
phone.
→Delete the existing registration information from both this system
and the cellular phone, then register the cellular phone you wish to
connect to this system. ( →P. 375)
A Bluetooth® connection cannot be made.
Another Bluetooth® device is already connected.
→ Manually connect the cellular phone you wish to use to this sys-
tem. ( →P. 377)
Bluetooth® function is not enabled on the cellular phone.
→ Enable the Bluetooth® function on the cellular phone.
Automatic Bluetooth® connection on this system is set to off.
→ Set automatic Bluetooth® connection on this system to on when
the power switch is tu rned to ON mode. (→P. 377)
“Please check your device settings.” message is displayed.
Bluetooth® function is not enabled on the cellular phone.
→ Enable the Bluetooth® function on the cellular phone.

Bluetooth®
■When using the Bluetooth® audio system
● In the following conditions, the system may not function.
• If the portable audio player is turned off
• If the portable audio player is not connected
• If the portable audio player’s battery is low
● There may be a delay if a cellular phone connection is made during
Bluetooth
® audio play.
● Depending on the type of portable audio player that is connected to the \
sys-
tem, operation may differ slightly and certain functions may not be available.
■ When using the hands-free system
●The audio system is muted when making a call.
● If both parties speak at the same time, it may be difficult to hear.
● If the received call volume is overly loud, an echo may be heard.
If the Bluetooth
® phone is too close to the system, quality of the sound may
deteriorate and connection status may deteriorate.
● In the following circumstances, it may be difficult to hear the other party:
• When driving on unpaved roads
• When driving at high speeds
• If a roof or window is open
• If the air conditioning is blowing directly on the microphone
• If there is interference from the network of the cellular phone
■ Conditions under which th e system will not operate
● If using a cellular phone that does not support Bluetooth
®
●If the cellular phone is turned off
● If you are outside of cellular phone service coverage
● If the cellular phone is not connected
● If the cellular phone’s battery is low
● When outgoing calls are controlled, due to heavy traffic on telephone lines,
etc.
● When the cellular phone itself cannot be used
● When transferring contact data from the cellular phone

■Compatible models
The Bluetooth® audio system supports portable audio players with the follow-
ing specifications
● Bluetooth
® specifications:
Ver. 2.0, or higher (Recommended: Ver. 3.0+EDR or higher)
● Profiles:
• A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) Ver. 1.0, or higher
(Recommended: Ver. 1.2 or higher)
This is a profile to transmit stereo audio or high quality sound to the audio
system.
• AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile) Ver. 1.0 or higher (Recommended: Ver. 1.4 or higher)
This is a profile to allow remote control the A/V equipment.
However, please note that some functions may be limited depending on the
type of portable audio player connected.
The hands-free system supports cellular phones with the following specifica-
tions.
● Bluetooth
® specification:
Ver. 2.0 or higher (Recommended: Ver. 3.0+EDR or higher)
● Profiles:
• HFP (Hands Free Profile) Ver. 1.0 or higher (Recommended: Ver. 1.6 or
higher)
This is a profile to allow hands-free phone calls using a cellular phone or
head set. It has outgoing and incoming call functions.
• OPP (Object Push Profile) Ver. 1. 1 or higher (Recommended: Ver. 1.2)
This is a profile to transfer contact data. When a Bluetooth
® compatible
cellular phone has both PBAP and OPP, OPP cannot be used.
• PBAP (Phone Book Access Profile ) Ver. 1.0 or higher (Recommended:
Ver. 1.1)
This is a profile to transfer contact data.
• MAP (Message Access Profile) Ver. 1.0 or higher
If the cellular phone does not support HFP, you cannot register it with the
hands-free system. OPP, PBAP or MAP services must be selected individu-
ally.

Maintenance and care
■Repair and replacement
It is recommended that genuine Toyota parts be used for repairs to ensure
performance of each system. If non-Toyota parts are used in replacement or if
a repair shop other than a Toyota dealer performs repairs, confirm the war-
ranty coverage.
■ Resetting the message indicating maintenance is required (U.S.A. only)
After the required maintenance is performed according to the maintenance
schedule, please reset the message.
To reset the message, follow the procedure described below:
Press or of the meter control switch and select on the multi-
information display.
Press or of the meter control switch and select “Vehicle Settings”.

Press or of the meter control switch and select “Scheduled Mainte-
nance”. and then press .
Select the “Yes” and press .
■ Allow inspection and repairs to be performed by a Toyota dealer
●Toyota technicians are well-trained specialists and are kept up to date with
the latest service information. They are well informed about the operations
of all systems on your vehicle.
● Keep a copy of the repair order. It proves that the maintenance that has
been performed is under warranty cove rage. If any problem should arise
while your vehicle is under warranty, your Toyota dealer will promptly take
care of it.
