A buzzer sounds on opening the
driver's door, if the key has been left in
the ignition.

ock the steering column.Never attach a heavy object to the
key or to the remote control key: by
weighing down on the shaft of the key
when it is in the ignition switch, it could
cause a fault.
Furthermore, a heavy or sharp object
could hinder the deployment of the
knee airbag or be projected and
cause serious injuries in the event of
deployment of the knee airbag.
For Diesel vehicles, when the engine
is cold, wait with the ignition switch
in position 3 (ON) until the preheater
warning lamp goes off, before turning
the key to position 4 (S TA R T ) .

e warning lamp does not come on
when the engine is hot. Switching off the engine leads to a loss
of braking assistance.

Changing the vehicle's
mode
With the electronic key inside the vehicle; each
press on the "START/STOP " button, with no
action on the pedals , changes the vehicle's
mode:

irst press (ACC mode), the button's
warning lamp comes on in orange.

econd press (ON mode), the button's
warning lamp comes on in green.

Emergency release
If the battery is discharged or if the gear lever
locking mechanism is damaged, it is possible
for the gear lever to be locked in position P,
even when you press the brake pedal firmly. However, if you have to move the vehicle,
release the gear lever using the following
procedure:

pply the parking brake.

witch off the engine if necessary.

emove the cap A, using a flat screwdriver
covered with a cloth.

ress the brake pedal firmly.

ut the ignition switch into position ACC
(ACC mode, if you vehicle has the Keyless

nsert the screwdriver into the aperture.

hile pushing the screwdriver downwards,
move the gear lever to position N .

Stop & Start (Auto Stop & go) system
Operation
Going into engine STOP mode
the "AS &G" warning lamp comes on in
the instrument panel or the instrument
panel screen and the engine goes into
standby after a few seconds:

ith a manual gearbox , with the vehicle
stationary and your foot on the brake, when
you put the gear lever into neutral and
release the clutch pedal.
Never refuel with the engine in S

mode; you must switch off the ignition
with the key or the S

button. When the engine is stopped
automatically, the operation of certain
vehicle systems, such as braking
and power steering for example, are

flashing in the instrument panel.
This operation is per fectly normal.

) system puts the engine temporarily into standby during stops in the traffic (red lights, traffic jams, etc.). t

restarts automatically as soon as you want to move off.

e restart takes place instantly, quickly and silently.
Per fect for urban use, the Stop & Start (Auto Stop &

) system reduces fuel consumption and exhaust emissions as well as the noise level when
stationary.
If you move the gear lever, the "AS &G"
warning lamp flashes, accompanied by
an audible signal.

clutch pedal may cause a malfunction

Reactivation
In this case, the "AS &G" warning lamp
flashes for few seconds, then goes off.
This operation is per fectly normal.this is confirmed by the "AS&G OFF"
warning lamp coming on in the instrument
panel or instrument panel screen.
If the bonnet is opened while the engine
is in standby, the "AS &G" warning lamp
flashes, accompanied by an audible
signal.

the reinitialisation instruction is entered in
the screen menu, with the ignition in the "ON"
position and the vehicle stationary.

located below the instrument panel to the
left of the steering wheel.

Select "REINITIALISE" (located in
menu
2/3 or 3/3 depending on the
instrument panel) .

ress and hold the INFO button for at least
3 seconds to reinitialise the under-inflation
detection system.
Reinitialisation of the system is confirmed
by the flashing of the warning lamp in the
instrument panel.

e under-inflation alert is only reliable
if the system has been reinitialised
with the four tyre pressures correctly
adjusted.
Operating fault
the flashing and then fixed illumination of the
under-inflation warning lamp accompanied by
the display of a message indicates a fault with
the system.
In this case, monitoring of the tyre pressures is
not assured.

Rear courtesy lamp
Position 1 "ON"
the courtesy lamp is permanently on.
Position 2 "●"
the courtesy lamp comes on when a door or
the tailgate is opened. When the door or the
tailgate is closed again, the lighting gradually
dims for a few seconds before switching off.
However, the courtesy lamp is switched off
immediately in the following cases:
-
W
hen the doors and the tailgate are closed
and the ignition switch is placed in the
"ON" position.
-

W
hen the doors and the tailgate are closed
and you lock the vehicle.
Position 3 "OFF"
the courtesy lamp is permanently off.
Courtesy lamps automatic
switch off
With the engine off, the courtesy lamps,
map reading lamps and boot lamp switch
off automatically after 30 minutes to prevent
discharging of the battery.

e courtesy lamps are switched on again if
the ignition switch is placed in the "ON" or
"ACC " position, if you open then close a door
or the tailgate or if you use the remote control.

Checking components
12 V battery
Electrolyte level
For access to the 12 V Battery, refer
to the corresponding section. Refer to the warranty and
maintenance record for details of
the replacement intervals for these
components.
Air filter and passenger compartment filter
Replace the oil filter each time the
engine oil is changed.
Refer to the warranty and
maintenance record for details of
the replacement interval for this
component.
Oil filter
If necessary, top up using distilled water,
removing the battery cap from each cell.
Check the electrolyte level at least
once a month.
When carrying out work on the 12 V Battery
,
refer to the corresponding section for
details of the precautions to be taken before
disconnecting the battery and following its
reconnection.
