Loose Mirror
If your power-folding mirrors are manually
folded, they may not work properly even
after you re-position them. You need to reset
them if:
•
The mirrors vibrate when you drive.
• The mirrors feel loose.
• The mirrors do not stay in the folded or
unfolded position.
• One of the mirrors is not in its normal
driving position.
To reset the power-fold feature, use the
power-folding mirror control to fold and
unfold the mirrors. You may hear a loud noise
as you reset the power-folding mirrors. This
sound is normal. Repeat this process as
needed each time the mirrors are manually
folded.
Heated Exterior Mirrors
See Heated Windows and Mirrors (page
141). Memory Mirrors
You can save and recall the mirror positions
through the memory function. See Memory
Function
(page 149).
Auto-Dimming Feature
(If Equipped)
The driver exterior mirror automatically dims
when the interior auto-dimming mirror turns
on.
Signal Indicator Mirrors
The outer portion of the appropriate mirror
housing blinks when you switch on the
direction indicator.
Lincoln Welcome Mat
Projection lights, on the bottom of the mirror
housings, project an image onto the ground
a short distance from the vehicle.
See
Lighting (page 84). Integrated Blind Spot Mirrors
(If Equipped) WARNING
Objects in the blind spot mirror are
closer than they appear.
Blind spot mirrors have an integrated convex
mirror built into the upper outboard corner
of the exterior mirrors. Their design can
increase your visibility along the side of your
vehicle.
Check the main mirror first before a lane
change, then check the blind spot mirror. If
no vehicles are present in the blind spot
mirror and the traffic in the adjacent lane is
at a safe distance, signal that you intend to
change lanes. Glance over your shoulder to
verify traffic is clear and carefully change
lanes.

Brake System
Lights when you engage the
parking brake with the ignition on.
If it lights when you are driving,
check that the parking brake is not on. If the
parking brake is not on, this Brake System
lamp indicates low brake fluid level or a
brake system malfunction. Have an
authorized dealer check the system
immediately. WARNING
Driving your vehicle with the warning
lamp on is dangerous. A significant
decrease in braking performance may occur.
It will take you longer to stop your vehicle.
Have an authorized dealer check the system
immediately. Driving extended distances with
the parking brake engaged can cause brake
failure and the risk of personal injury. Cruise Control (If Equipped)
Lights when you switch on cruise
control. Direction Indicator Lights when the left or right turn
signal or the hazard warning
flasher is switched on. If the
indicators stay on or flash faster, check for a
burned-out bulb.
See Changing a Bulb
(page 310).
Door Ajar Lights when the ignition is on and
any door is not completely closed.
EcoSelect Lights when you switch on this
feature.
See EcoSelect (page 171).
Electric Park Brake Lights or flashes when the electric
parking brake malfunctions.Engine or Motor Coolant Temperature Lights when the engine or motor
cooling system is overheating.
Stop your vehicle in a safe place
and have an authorized dealer check the
system.
Engine Oil If it lights with the engine running
or when you are driving, this
indicates a malfunction. Stop your
vehicle as soon as it is safe to do so and
switch the engine off. Check the engine oil
level.
See Engine Oil Check (page 299).
Note: Do not resume your trip if it lights, even
if the oil level is correct. Have an authorized
dealer check the system immediately.
Fasten Seatbelt Lights and a chime sounds to
remind you to fasten your seatbelt.
See Seatbelt Reminder (page 39).

Green: Indicates that the system is available
or ready to provide a warning or intervention,
on the indicated side(s).
Yellow: Indicates that the system is providing
or has just provided a lane keeping aid
intervention.
Red: Indicates that the system is providing
or has just provided a lane keeping alert
warning.
The system can be temporarily suppressed
at any time by the following:
•
Quick braking.
• Fast acceleration.
• Using the turn signal indicator.
• Evasive steering maneuver.
Troubleshooting Why is the feature not available (line markings are gray) when I can s\
ee the lane markings on the road?
Vehicle speed is outside the operational range of the feature
Sun is shining directly into the camera lens
Quick intentional lane change
Staying too close to the lane marking
Driving at high speeds in curves
The last Alert warning or Aid intervention occurred a short time ago
Ambiguous lane markings (mainly in construction zones)
Rapid transition from light to dark or vice versa
Sudden offset in lane markings
ABS or AdvanceTrac activation

The Blind Spot Information System
illuminates an amber alert indicator in the
outside mirror on the side of your vehicle the
approaching vehicle is coming from. When
the Blind Spot Information System is alerting
on a vehicle and the corresponding turn
signal is ON, the Blind Spot Information
System alert indicator flashes as an
increased warning level.
The alert indicator dims when the system
detects nighttime darkness.
Note:
The alert indicator flashes in case of
an alert and the turn signal is set to that side
at the same time.
System Sensor Blockage WARNING
To help avoid injuries, NEVER use the
Blind Spot Information System as a
replacement for using the interior and
exterior mirrors or looking over your shoulder
before changing lanes. The Blind Spot
Information System is not a replacement for
careful driving. The system uses radar sensors that are
located behind the bumper fascia on each
side of your vehicle. Any dirt, mud and snow
in front of the sensors and/or driving in heavy
rain can cause system degradation. Also,
other types of obstructions in front of the
sensor can cause system degradation. This
is referred to as a ‘blocked’ condition.
Note:
Do not apply bumper stickers and/or
repair compound to these areas, this can
cause degraded system performance.
If the system detects a degraded
performance condition, a message warning
of a blocked sensor will appear in the
information display. Also the BLIS alert
indicators will remain ON and BLIS will no
longer provide any vehicle warnings. You
can clear the information display warning but
the alert indicators will remain illuminated.

When HD Radio broadcasts are active, you can access the following functions:
Action and description
Message
Allows you to save an active channel as a memory preset. Touch and hold a memory preset slot
until the sound returns. There is a brief mute while the radio saves the\
station. Sound returns
when the channel saves. When switching to an HD2 or HD3 memory preset, t\
he sound mutes
before the digital audio plays, because the system has to reacquire the \
digital signal.
Presets
Note: As with any station you save, you cannot access the saved station if your vehicle is outside the sta\
tion’ s reception area.
HD Radio Reception and Station Troubleshooting Potential reception issues
If you are listening to a multicast station and you are on the fringe of\
the reception area, the station
may mute due to weak signal strength.
Reception area
If you are listening to HD1, the system changes back to the analog broad\
cast until the digital
broadcast is available again. However, if you are listening to any of the possible HD2-HD7 multicast
channels, the station mutes and stays muted unless it is able to connect\
to the digital signal again.
When the system first receives a station (aside from HD2-HD7 multicast \
stations), it first plays the
station in the analog version. Once the receiver verifies the station is\
an HD Radio station, it shifts
to the digital version. Depending on the station quality, you may hear a slight sound change when
the station changes from analog to digital. Blending is the shift from a\
nalog to digital sound or
digital back to analog sound.
