Warning lights inform the driver of malfunctions in the indicated vehicle s ystems.
* 1
: These lights turn on when the engine switch is turned to IG NITION ON mode to
indicate that a system check is being performed. They will turn off after the engine is
started, or after a few seconds. There may be a malfunction in a system if a light does
not come on, or turn off. Have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Lexus retailer
or Lexus authorized repairer, or any reliable repairer.

Driving the vehicle

With the brake pedal depressed, shift the shift lever to D. ( P. 246)
If the parking brake is in manual mode, release the parking brake. ( P. 256)
Gradually release the brake pedal and gently depress the accelerator pedal
to accelerate the vehicle.
With the shift lever in D, depress the brake pedal.
If necessary, set the parking brake.
If the vehicle is to be stopped for an extended period of time, shift the shift lever to P or
N. ( P. 246)
With the shift lever in D, depress the brake pedal.
Set the parking brake ( P. 256), and shift the shift lever to P. ( P. 246)
Press the engine switch to stop the engine.
Lock the door, making sure that you have the electronic key on your person .
If parking on a hill, bl ock the wheels as needed.
Make sure that the parking brake is set and shift the shift lever to D.
Gently depress the accelerator pedal.
Release the parking brake.
The following procedures should be observed to ensure safe driving:

Stopping
Parking the vehicle
Starting off on a steep uphill
