Steering wheel
Operating the switch moves the steering wheel in the following directions:Up
Down
Toward the driver
Away from the driver
To sound the horn, press on or close to
the mark.
■The steering wheel can be adjusted when
The engine switch is in ACCESSORY or IGNITION ON mode *.
* : If the driver’s seat belt is fastened, the steering wheel can be adjusted regardless of
engine switch mode.
■Automatic adjustment of the steering position
A desired steering position can be entered to memory and recalled automatically by the
driving position memory system. ( P. 199)
■Power easy access system
The steering wheel and driver’s seat move in accordance with engine switch mode and
the driver’s seat belt condition. ( P. 199)

If the engine will not start
One of the following may be the cause of the problem: ●There may not be sufficient fuel in the vehicle’s tank.
Refuel the vehicle.
● The engine may be flooded.
Try to restart the engine again following correct starting procedures. ( P. 240)
● There may be a malfunction in the engine immobilizer system. ( P. 86)
One of the following may be the cause of the problem: ● The battery may be discharged. ( P. 597)
● The battery terminal connections may be loose or corroded.
The engine starting system may be malfunctioning due to an electrical problem
such as electronic key battery depletion or a blown fuse. However, an interim
measure is available to start the engine. ( P. 591)
One of the following may be the cause of the problem: ● One or both of the battery terminals may be disconnected.
● The battery may be discharged. ( P. 597)
● There may be a malfunction in the steering lock system.
Contact any authorized Lexus retailer or Le xus authorized repairer, or any reliable
repairer if the problem cannot be repaired , or if repair procedures are unknown.
If the engine will not start even though correct starting procedures are being
followed ( P. 240), consider each of the following points:
The engine will not start even thou gh the starter motor operates nor-
mally.
The starter motor turns over slowly , the interior lights and headlights
are dim, or the horn does not so und or sounds at a low volume.
The starter motor does not turn over
The starter motor does not turn over , the interior lights and headlights
do not turn on, or the horn does not sound.

●Is the window lock switch pressed?
The power window except for the one at the driver’s seat cannot be operated
if the window lock switch is pressed. ( P. 214)
● The auto power off function will be operated if the vehicle is left in ACCES-
SORY or IGNITION ON mode (the engine is not running) for a period of
time. ( P. 242)
● The seat belt reminder light is flashing
Are the driver and the front passenger wearing the seat belts? ( P. 520)
● The parking brake indicator is on
Is the parking brake released? ( P. 256)
Depending on the situation, other type s of warning buzzer may also sound.
( P. 518, 524)
● Did anyone inside the vehicle open a door or anything move inside the vehicle
during setting the alarm?
The sensor detects them and the alarm sounds. ( P. 92)
To stop the alarm, turn the engine switch to IGNITION ON mode or start the
engine. ● Is the electronic key left inside the vehicle or the moon roof opened (if
equipped)?
Check the message on the multi-information display. ( P. 524)
